I don't track my wins and loss, what I do is just wipe my balance when I complete my session so I knew exactly how much I deposited and now how much I am withdrawing. Overall profit is irrelevant to me because there's no point in managing the sheet of all out bets and results and if we started doing that then I don't know it it will be fun anymore? Roll Eyes

I track my losses some times and I don’t really do that like routinely but, I do have times when I look at what I’ve lost in the times I’ve had to play over the period of a week. Should I see a lot of losses, it just motivates me to find some wining bets and I do eventually. At least to cut back on some of those losses I’ve had to suffer. It’s usually not a very good sight but yeah, it has some relevance to me. I hope to see some more greens than them reds.
I do check my overall winnings once in a while but it's not something I check everytime, we all want to win while gambling but the fact is it's beyond our control so all we can do is hope that is one of the reason why I avoid because whatever we do the results are not in our hands so better let it be and enjoy while we gamble and when it feels like we are losing more then call it a day and withdraw the remaining balance instead of going hard and losing more.

Tracking of one's losses in gambling is good to an extent, as it shows if one is either winning in the system or losing from it. It all drives down to the person in particular, as most people will become emotional to chase on making wins driving over gambling, and might lead to more losses as there is no well cautions taken, neither strategies implemented. But if it is well planned, looking at losses should on give a better reason to improve one's strategy and mode of playing. For example daily, weekly or monthly budget made for gambling, whether winning or losing, stick to the budget, and when liquidated, relax till the next season.

Most of us here only remember our biggest wins, and sometimes that makes us feel like we’re actually profitable in gambling just because we can recall that one lucky moment.

But what we often forget is that we're regularly losing small amounts. And when those small losses pile up over time, they could easily add up to more than what we've ever won.

So the real question is: who here actually tracks their losses?
I’ve heard that professional gamblers do. Do we have that kind of "pro attitude" in this group?
No, I don't track my losses. I am not a professional gambler and don't see gambling as a business either. Although I, just like everyone else here, wish to win, I also don't see the need to keep records of my gambling activities. Since I don't use gambling as a major source of income, keeping such a record would only serve as a trigger for me to push harder and even try to recover those losses. Of what use is tracking losses if not to try to recover them? Many gamblers will not use that record to minimise their rate of gambling, but will do the opposite. This is my personal opinion; others may think otherwise.

Most people don't keep track of losses, you know. The typical punter would rather mythologize their life by remembering the time they won their weekly salary while ignoring the two months of slow bleed following. That is the way the business survives. Our egos survive this way as well. You are looking for a pro attitude? Then start behaving more like a data analyst than a dreamer. Even if it stings, log everything, painfully, meticulously. Luck is only variation on a curve. Winners are constant fact-checking of reality, not only lucky people. Losses, every one, are the tuition fee for staying in the game. Disregarding them will turn you into a mark rather than a gambler.

If all you remember are the nice evenings, you work in entertainment rather than profit. That's great, just avoid calling it strategy. Expert gamblers are like perfect accountants. Their enjoyment comes from knowing the actual score. Are you here to play? Or are you here to fantasize? Reason being, regardless of how unbalanced your books may be, the casino's will always be in order.

Gambling can sometimes lead to big wins, but small losses can cause more financial damage than those big wins. Responsible gamblers always track their gambling activities because they never want to lose a lot of money just to gamble. I used to not track my gambling activity and at that time I lost a lot of money gambling. But when I realized that gambling was wasting a lot of my money, I started tracking my gambling activity and I created an excel sheet where I kept a record of my gambling activity. This way I can hold myself very responsible.

By tracking losses, one can find out one weaknesses, it is like an alarm. It will tell one what to learn and improve in order to get a greater chance of winning in the future. By knowing the number of losses, one can also avoid pressure that can potentially interfere with one responsibilities. Therefore, tracking losses is sometimes very important, in order to continue enjoying gambling.

Many gamblers ignore this, because they believe that gambling is pure luck, even though by tracking losses one can also control oneself not to exceed the limit. Regardless of the winnings obtained, setting a budget is the first thing that must actually be done when you want to start gambling.

I used to track my losses at one point because I remember participating in a betting contest. Listing all of my bets easily gave me an idea of what markets or leagues to avoid.

There are also those tipster threads that always keep track of their wins and losses, but for me, I wouldn't go back and track my losses again now that i'm only playing for fun.

I think this will be good for gamblers who are fond of gambling with so much money to track their losses to see how much they have put into gambling. For some people, this may be a lesson for them to play with the amount that they can afford, but for those who always gamble with the amount they can afford, there is no need for them to track their losses because the amount they use in gambling is something they can easily let go of when they lose. It is even better for gamblers to forget their losses because, for some people, it can make them feel bad realizing how much has been spent on gambling, and for some people, it might trigger them to chase losses.

I don't track my wins and losses, it really makes me feel like I'm treating gambling like it's not a fun game. Even without tracking, I think we can all say that gambling has cost us more than it has won. No matter what game, I've lost more than I've won. But anyway, I have no problem about losing because so far I know how to avoid the impact and be responsible for gambling.

I don't think it's important to track wins and losses in gambling. For me gambling is not a business, gambling is a game that is expected to make the players happy. Just like I have to pay for games for children in a children's playground, money is paid and the children are happy.

I do not track my losses because they are not so much that I can forget easily. I tend to record them during the next game and they serve as a small reminder to me in terms of input winning game and losing game.  I do track the amount spent to know to how much I spend on betting monthly. By doing this my  bankroll amount to can go up or remain the same. The losses are more motivational let you know that it is not very time you win.

If everyone remembers big wins in gambling, then everyone also remembers big losses. Although small gamblers like us don't keep track of big losses, there are many professionals who keep track of their small and big losses. I gamble with very small amounts of money and don't keep track of my losses. The reason I don't keep track of my losses in gambling is that I gamble with very small amounts of money, my losses aren't very big, and especially since I've taken up gambling as a pastime, I don't keep track of them.

Keeping track of losses will not bring you anything, it will just be a waste of time and you will be emotionally upset again, so I don't think it will be very useful to keep track of and analyze the money you lost in gambling. I never know the exact amount I lost, even if I don't know, I have an approximate estimate, I don't really think about it, to be honest. I just want some fun and games, not all the time, but from time to time.

I do, and everyone should track their finances in relation to gambling. It is so easy to underestimate the losses and overestimate the wins. You need to have a control and overview of what is happening with this as it can get out of control fast. Besides, if you are playing online then there is no excuse not to do this. It takes very little time and you can do it in a simple by. Just track deposits and withdrawals from the casino instead of the results of the individual bets and with an excel sheet you can automate any calculations so it will work always after you add more data.

No, I don't and will never do it. I think about my losses and indeed I've lost more than I win in my history of playing. But I don't know the actual number and I don't care about it now. Also, one of the reasons why I don't track my losses. It will only add up to what I think. It might stress you if you do. Coz if you are seeing or counting your losses, you will think and chase that number which for me is not good and will eventually stress yourself. Being stressed in gambling is not a good thing, it involves finance.

That's what I'm talking about. Why should I track such statistics if I'm not a professional player? This is more typical for those who play and bet very often. Such data is necessary to change the strategy of games. In all other cases, it's just extra work that shouldn't be done, not wasting time on it. If I have losses, I remember them from memory. Believe me, it is remembered for a long time. I can judge this from my own experience.

I dont think most gamblers do this, doing so will make them see the losses clearly and thus lead to them stopping gambling.

I think "pro" players do this if they actually exist who are gambling full time - but I think that is truly not a thing, no one is actually playing full time, most of them would go broke in a few days unable to keep up.

Then there are those who actually track them, like the youtuber Hypalinx and they post it in their youtube channel along with gambling videos.

If we tracks our losses, we will be amazed because that will be bigger than our winning. Gambling can make us lose big especially if we can not control ourselves. The chance for us to reduce our lose will be limiting our money and always aware with the losses.

If we lose for more or at least three times more, we need to quit gambling immediately. There will be more losses that we may get as the emotion will interfere and make us keep gambling without stop.

Probably, some gamblers track their lose in gambling knowing how much money they already lose. We must control ourselves and limit our losses so we will not feel sad seeing the money is gone.

There would be two possible situations that could happen if we do track our loses.

1. We would be able to see our total loss or in overall
2. We do know on when to stop when loses are that much.

There's to possible actions that could happen too basing up on someones mentality.

1. If you dont know on when to stop when you are at loss then this is where you would be starting up to chase and this is commonly happening for most people.
2. Its either you could stop or you do continue. Its just that the common action.

For me then i wont be that much on checking out the numbers because as long my gambling capital or budget for that day, week or month as the time that it would get exhausted then i would completely stop.
I have been that doing gambling for long years and so far those amounts that i have lost is much more bigger on what I have won, on which the reason on why im still that be able to gamble because I do make myself some limits and once I do lose it all then i dont tend to add up even more. I have some past experiences on losing up money but i have put up myself on having those realizations in the end because i dont want for it to happen again. Having some financial problems isnt something that i dont really like to experience again. I have learnt in the past and i wouldnt be wanting to experience it again.

I dont think most gamblers do this, doing so will make them see the losses clearly and thus lead to them stopping gambling.
Or the other way around, they might see their losses and wanted to recover that money but betting more. So there is a plus and minus of tracking our losses. But it could be better if we won't so that we will not be bother or maybe there will be some mental pressures on us.

I think for those you mentioned, maybe it's just for the views in their channel. I'm not sure about the "pro" players, maybe they are tracking it but for what purpose? It also boils down as what will it serve to us to track everything? That is the most important questions that we need to answer so that we can understand why we should need it. Otherwise, numbers are just numbers for us gamblers.

I don’t track my wins or losses. I feel like it is probably best that way for the sake of my enjoyment. If I knew how much money I’d lost gambling in my lifetime I probably wouldn’t be able to enjoy myself at a casino. Not that I particularly enjoy casinos anyway, but I feel strongly in this case it is true that ignorance is bliss.
