I don?t track my wins or losses. I feel like it is probably best that way for the sake of my enjoyment. If I knew how much money I?d lost gambling in my lifetime I probably wouldn?t be able to enjoy myself at a casino. Not that I particularly enjoy casinos anyway, but I feel strongly in this case it is true that ignorance is bliss.

yes in fact I never keep track of all the bets I've lost over the years, probably as you say I wouldn't even enjoy it and I'd be thinking about when I lost, but in the last few months I've been thinking about making a document to write them down even if I know I'll regret it

Most of us here only remember our biggest wins, and sometimes that makes us feel like we’re actually profitable in gambling just because we can recall that one lucky moment.
Because that's worth to remember. I experienced so many losses in gambling but I never forget those moments that I became fortunate because it is rare (especially a decent amount).

So the real question is: who here actually tracks their losses?
I don't track my losses because there's no point on dwelling in the past. It can only make you regret spending it in gambling if you're aware of the total amount. It happened already so I just want to move forward.

Shared same sentiments since somehow I think that action is kinda depressing especially when seeing those overall losses we get for the whole the we are playing those games we like.

That's why same as OG I rather chose to be ignorant about the losses I get since I don't want to digest anything negative that can possibly make me sad. Since my intention on why I gamble is to have fun and don't want to start something that I don't like to feel further.

Well if you feel you like to write a document about your overall win/loss record then its your decision since somehow each of us have different takes regarding on each situations.

But what we often forget is that we're regularly losing small amounts. And when those small losses pile up over time, they could easily add up to more than what we've ever won.So the real question is: who here actually tracks their losses? I’ve heard that professional gamblers do. Do we have that kind of "pro attitude" in this group?

Gamblers are not actually losing small amounts of money but are losing big amounts and this is is reflecting in the gains the casinos and sportsbook are making. All gamblers are supposed to be tracking their losses because if they do not do this, they would not know how much they are losing and will keep thinking, they are not in debts without knowing that they are so far in debts that all the wins they are getting still would not cover up for the losses. The perfect way to monitor our losses is for us to have a budget for gambling because this budget is going to help us keep track of how much we are spending and from our profits, we can compare to see if we are still in profit or in losses. Most gamblers are always in losses therefore if we see ourselves being in losses we do not have to panick immediately but look for solutions to reduce the losses.

I agree, winnings are worth remembering since those are the times when the our excitement is at its peak.  But I admit only remembering this happy moments make us miss something important.

I don't track my losses because there's no point on dwelling in the past. It can only make you regret spending it in gambling if you're aware of the total amount. It happened already so I just want to move forward.

Tracking our losses does not mean we are dwelling on the past.  Tracking our losses lets us know how much we are losing and can check the ratio of winnings and losing and this is important for our future gambling involvement.  When it comes to finances, it is important to record the cash inflow and cash outflow.  This also helps us to design a plan on how we can minimize our expenditure or losses on the platform.  It helps us especially with financial awareness and control.  Aside from that it can also check our self whether we are aligning to being problem gamblers and we can at least take some preventive measures in the early stage.

If I track my losses, what will this information give me? How can I use it? I cant change what has been done. Each game is individual. In sports betting, teams or athletes dont repeat their performance. Tracking losses can only show a total how much I have lost, but I prefer not to stick to the past in gambling, and that grand total can only disappoint me than be useful Cheesy Even those who gamble for fun and have already said goodbye to money after deposit, will treat loss as a negative memory, prefer forget about it and focus on positive emotions.

It makes sense to track your losses only if gambling is your main source of income, then keeping track of your losses will be a kind of accounting, where you can track everything down to the last penny and keep records. But for an ordinary player, which is the majority here, there is no sense in this, there will be losses in any case, because you can’t do without it in gambling. It depends on the player how easily he is ready to part with money, when I deposit money, I still consider it mine until I lose.  Cool And always when I deposit, I set myself the goal of doubling the deposit, this is such a sporting interest that adds excitement to me.

I’ve heard that professional gamblers do. Do we have that kind of "pro attitude" in this group?

You should track your losses if you gamble irresponsibly because you need to know that you are making the wrong choices as a gambler, you are supposed to risk only what you can to limit your losses, those who got addicted to gambling needed this the most.

So many of them don't think or do calculations on how much they are risking and losing, with the fact that they risk what they can't afford to lose, it will be painful when they get the results I bet.

For responsible gamblers around the world they have no painful experience because pennies stays a penny for them while dollar stays a dollar, they don't go over their boundaries for gambling sake, so there is nothing here to track for them.

Gambling is not a source of income, why would one want to grab a calculator and do some calculations.

Considering the rate of losses to winning in gambling, we make more of failed attempts than winning in gambling, this should be known by us, so that we don't track the losses we make and got discouraged with what we might come across with, when the sum may be too much compared to the ones we have won, moreover, I don't think it's if a necessity tracking our loss when we should be gambling for fun.

Of course, most players will not track their losses because they do not want to spend extra time on it, life is already full of worries. Most people go to gambling just to get excited and have a little fun, play with adrenaline and nothing more. And only professionals, who make up the smallest share of all players and who live only for one game and sports news, will track their losses.

Well, I think it was those days that such thing normally happens because we have not yet gambler much then. Though, as it is right now it will be very wrong decisions for a gambler to start keeping track of he passed losses and winnings in gambling because is pretty obvious that losses are always higher than winning. So however, as a good gambler keeping such track might likely result were a gambler would start thinking of chasing back after losses in gambling because is always a game of losses.

I think there is a point in this but there is no need to do any in depth analysis, it is enough to know what kind of tendency you have. For example if your wins and losses are about equal or you even have slightly more wins, that is already good. But if as you said, there are way more losses, then in that case it is not even worth tracking because you will already know that you are losing far more bets than you are winning and it will be very clearly reflected in your bankroll.

How can it be a wrong decision? It’s your right to know how much you lose not just how much you win.

It’s not a sin if you don’t track it, especially if you’re not comfortable doing so. But still, there’s nothing wrong with monitoring your losses. In fact, it’s a responsible move. I get that we’re here to have fun, but with the right discipline, it shouldn’t be a problem to face reality. And that means seeing the full picture - both the wins and the losses.

Most of us here only remember our biggest wins, and sometimes that makes us feel like we’re actually profitable in gambling just because we can recall that one lucky moment.

But what we often forget is that we're regularly losing small amounts. And when those small losses pile up over time, they could easily add up to more than what we've ever won.

So the real question is: who here actually tracks their losses?
I’ve heard that professional gamblers do. Do we have that kind of "pro attitude" in this group?

My straight and shortest answer is my losses is too small to keep a tab on, biggest loss only happened to me when i was a beginner, I felt gambling for the first time the way a beginner should and that's what resulted in that loss, today I am no longer that old person anymore.

Now I gamble with what I can see gone from my balance with no hard feeling, it is very small to be remembered, I advive people to learn from me but I guess many won't because dreams want to be fulfilled by using gambling.

I know I've been gambling for long with no luck, I can't forget this because it's how gambling really is but I do remember when I win unexpectedly unless I only win double of what I risked.

I have never really tried to track it, but I think it would be beneficial, especially if you are a consistent gambler. I don't believe that it could be a hindrance for you, but it's all but positive, in my opinion, with the tracking.

I hope many people will do it and use it positively, not look at it negatively, as it would be stressful for the gambler.

Tracking of one's losses in gambling is good to an extent, as it shows if one is either winning in the system or losing from it. It all drives down to the person in particular, as most people will become emotional to chase on making wins driving over gambling, and might lead to more losses as there is no well cautions taken, neither strategies implemented. But if it is well planned, looking at losses should on give a better reason to improve one's strategy and mode of playing. For example daily, weekly or monthly budget made for gambling, whether winning or losing, stick to the budget, and when liquidated, relax till the next season.
Tracking gambling losses is not a bad idea. If those who lose at gambling and observe their gambling records, they can naturally become more aware of the reasons for their losses. They can also observe in depth whether the strategies they applied were effective at that time. They can also gain an idea of how much they lost at a given time, more or less according to their budget. Tracking gambling losses is not a bad idea for gamblers. If they try to recover that loss by considering all records in gambling they can be more frustrated from it, then tracking betting losses can be a cause of harm.

I like the statement you use to end this post that tracking losses can be very stressful for the gambler which is true, but there are some gambling sites or even almost all gambling sites that make their users a see their profit and loss history. That should not make it stressful at all. But I do not do that, I prefer just to make use of weekly budget which is of small amount of money which makes tracking the losses not necessary.

There is nothing wrong in keeping records of your losses ot you have the time and see it as important. And I don't also think that it is compulsory to keep records. Keeping or not keeping records is based on individual differences. Just as @Sanitough identifies that it could help some people to avoid loss chasing. So if keeping records makes you a responsible gambler, then it is worth the task or stress. I don't think I would keep such records since my gambling budget is very low.

It's not necessary for every gambler to track their losses because not every gambler gambles for gains, but only those who gamble for gains and profits will do what you are describing here. Someone who gambles merely to have some fun and get themselves entertained won't spend excessive amounts of money on their gambling activities because they will deposit an amount that they can afford to lose, play some games to have some fun, and if they win something, they enjoy and celebrate, and if they lose the money, they don't do anything and go away and come back later with a new budget.

Gamblers who get indebted and spends too much money on their gambling activities are those who think they can generate money from gambling, or those who are already addicted to gambling, for such people, it might be important that they keep tracking their wins and losses because they will have to see how they are doing. This might also help them realize that gambling can't give them any money in the long run, and it's only a dream that they are chasing.

A lot of gamblers don't know the relevance of doing this, they think it's a waste of time. Sometimes tracking your losses might not be good because it reminds you of the past but as a gambler that's mature emotionally that shouldn't move you. It's important that you know the amount you have lost and if you are actively involved it's good you know the amount that you are losing, don't be careless with money
