We hear a lot of things in this world that have no basis in reality, so what you have heard about professional gamblers has no basis either. And besides, I think there is no such thing as a professional gambler. Because gambling is not a profession, we would call a gambler a professional. Gambling is for the entertainment take it as this purpose and enjoy it don't try to take it is an investment so where can win by taking any kind of strategy.

From your point of view, you are right. Gambling is not really a profession. I think so too. However, there are many gamblers who see gambling as a profession. And their number is very large. Therefore, it is necessary to keep track of losses for these gamblers.

You should keep track of winnings and losses in gambling. However, for those like us who gamble only for fun and enjoy it, there is no need to keep track. We keep a certain amount of our savings and there is no risk on this amount. If we win in gambling, we benefit and if we lose in gambling, we do not think about it much. For us, it is different.

However, for those who only gamble and do not do any work, you should keep track of winnings and losses. Since the number of such people is not small, we will not say that there is no need to keep track of losing in gambling.

Although I consider myself a balanced person in gambling (I play very little money) compared to a real player.
I always keep track of what I spend and what I win (I don't call it profit) money is earned by working.
I like to have a weekly report to keep track of my entertainment expenses.
After all, it's simple and doesn't take time to do.

If you are doing balanced gambling, if I am not wrong, you try to stick with your afford zone for loss. It's mean you are the responsible gambler as well I would also say you are the real player i.e. gambler.

It doesn't mean that you have to spend a lots of money to become a real player on gambling, rather I will called that excessive gambling which is kinda addiction and that never could be the real player. So stay on the track where you are in and enjoy gambling as entertainment purpose.

I think when players play little like you, then you don't even have to track it, because it's already clear how much we've won or lost. In any case, I'm interested in, for example, statistics for half a year of play or a year to be exact. For this, I would start tracking my gambling expenses and losses. I guess I would be horrified to see these numbers, and many players would be too, because it would clearly show how much gambling takes from us in exchange for gambling feelings.

You are intelligent. And you probably earn money from your job. Since you know your monthly income, it is important to keep an account of every money you spend. I also try to keep an account. But I can't always keep a full account, since I bet on a lot of matches. But I have a limit on my weekly gambling money. I don't spend more than a certain amount on gambling every week. And I keep this money aside. So at the end of each week I understand whether I have profited or lost on gambling.

Since gambling is not my only means of earning money, I consider it as entertainment. So loss or profit is not very important to me. However, if I face continuous losses, it is definitely harmful for me. Since I do sports gambling, I usually don't face much loss so far.

So the real question is: who here actually tracks their losses?
I’ve heard that professional gamblers do. Do we have that kind of "pro attitude" in this group?

I am sure we have a few guys who keep track of their gambling activities, but I am not one of them. A long time ago I realized there's no point in doing that since we are all in crypto... When we lose some coins and after some time those coins go x1000 (in many cases even higher) the math is so bad for us. It's a deep rabbit hole and it's better to stay away from that.

By the way, I like to think that professional gamblers focus on sports betting and poker. All other games are too crazy and should be played just for fun & relaxation, and when we have some money to spend on that.

Most of us here only remember our biggest wins, and sometimes that makes us feel like we’re actually profitable in gambling just because we can recall that one lucky moment.

But what we often forget is that we're regularly losing small amounts. And when those small losses pile up over time, they could easily add up to more than what we've ever won.

I don't do so because it makes me go back chasing over them which is a step to a failed gambling practices but a lot of gamblers are used to tracking ther loses cause all they've thought about is being profitable and keep winning overtime so they see tracking of loses as a way of getting back at their fate of winning which ideologically it's impossible. But regardless a gambler shouldn't forget that loses are inevitable and there should be limit to their gambling habits to avoid this.

Of course, losses will always happen and it is necessary to realize it very well, because if the player constantly expect victory, then his emotions will simply destroy. Therefore, it is better to monitor your losses and control them, so you can understand many things and improve control over your banking, because knowledge and control is the player’s power. Therefore, it is better to control everything that is possible, and vice versa, if we do not do this, then we just have a break from more successful players who do this.

I usually record and write down everything related to my financial life in a spreadsheet, including the bets I make. It's good to have some statistics. I try to be as detailed as possible, although I don't always succeed, I think it's important to stick to the budget I set.

If you keep the image of lucky moments in your memory, it will be inspiring for you but most of the time it will be overshadowed when you lose and it becomes regular. If you start the day with a win, you may think that setting your mind to play more may continue the winning streak. Time will make you forget everything if you keep losing money and if you do not control it, you may continue to be poor.

No one may like to keep losing in gambling, they only publish the winning moments with friends in the form of stories. I also think that this may be the case with professional gamblers because most of them have stories of defeat and the number of money lost is high.

Well, I think it was those days that such thing normally happens because we have not yet gambler much then. Though, as it is right now it will be very wrong decisions for a gambler to start keeping track of he passed losses and winnings in gambling because is pretty obvious that losses are always higher than winning. So however, as a good gambler keeping such track might likely result were a gambler would start thinking of chasing back after losses in gambling because is always a game of losses.

Not all gamblers record more losses than profits there are some people that are still able to gamble moderately and their losses are not ridiculously high compared to other gamblers. Losses tends to get out of hand if you chase your losses and overtime it keeps getting worse if you don't cut down your gambling habits. Gambling is a losing game, people don't bother to keep track of their losses because they know they lose more at the long run

This use to be my approach before when I thought I was not doing my financial management properly, I thought I was over spending and at a point I began to write down everything that relates to financial dealing so as to make sure I put everything under check, but as time goes on and my activities increases, there are some financial expenses that I dont records anymore one of them is my gambling loses, and winning, because I only set aside the money I can afford to lose to gamble with, so I don't keep records on that sometimes, lately.

So the real question is: who here actually tracks their losses?
I’ve heard that professional gamblers do. Do we have that kind of "pro attitude" in this group?
I'm interested to respond to you concerning people who is looking for a way to recover their loss, in the gambling,  so for that aspect, anyone who is trying to recover their loses in gambling, those people will lose more, because in gambling is all about loss and gain, and when you lose in the gambling you don't need to panic to recover what your losses,  because you may recover those losses unexpected from my understanding, you  might gamble and luck run on your side and you win, so that's why I don't like people to chest after their loses in the gambling.

One the moment that you do try to recover your loses then this is the start that you would be that keep piling up your loses even more and this is the reality. If you do think up sensibly into the actions that you are taking then you  wouldnt be definitely be doing up such approach. There are just that those gamblers who are hard headed just because they are believing into something that they could be able to do it without even trying out to realize that its never been that feasible on trying out to chase up those loses. Speaking about on tracking then its useful because you would be wary on how much you have lost already but there are some those people that due on being known or wary about into those numbers then it turned out that these things what pushes them to play even more. If you do find yourself that becoming impulsive just because of awareness of these loses then it will be better to stop it completely.

If all gamblers start recording and calculating their losses starting from when they started gambling to date, comparing it to all the wins they have also won majority of people who will do that will fall under the category of being on the losing side; it's as simple as that.

Most of us personally decide not to count and calculate our losses because we want to enjoy the joy that winning little gives us, because if we are to always compare, then winnings will never be enough for us.

The only thing I know is that most times I win and I lost too in other times.

Even though I don't gamble, I've noticed that this logic of 'it's just a small amount' is common in many areas and that's often where the risk lies. Small amounts repeated frequently end up accumulating more than we imagine. I think it's worth thinking about this, not only for those who gamble, but for any habit that involves money. Sometimes, the peace of mind of not keeping track comes precisely from the feeling of control... which may not always be real. Is it worth trusting just the feeling?

I doubt if someone who gambles treats gambling as a business. Unless you are the owner of the casino. I'm not going to say don't do this, but the question is, what is really the benefit we get from this, because the results will only disappoint us? It was not just a waste of time, but also, it likely made our day dark, seeing that we lost more than we won. That is certainly what the data says. It was not helping anyway but rather pushing us to leave or, worse, chase them.

No need to track gambling loses because it's not a business that you can restrategize on how to become more profitable. Gambling wins are by luck and it's very clear that your chances of winning is not 50 50 the casinos always have the upper hand against you. In my estimation tracking loses will demoralize you to gamble and it can remove the fun in it, especially when you're engaging in it with significant amounts. If you are using small amounts that you can afford to loose you won't feel the need to track loses or wins, you will understand how gambling works and enjoy yourself as much as you can.
Tracking gambling losses cannot be done since it is not like a phone that whenever a person loses it, they can easily track it. Once a person loses in gambling, that’s all; they should not even expect to get it back or try to do anything about that. Honestly, the word gambling is all about luck. Forget that you have experience or knowledge about gambling.

The reason why some people feel pain whenever they lose in gambling is that they refuse to use the amount of money they can afford to lose, and that’s why their thinking is even leading them on to how they can track their losses in gambling, which cannot be possible.

Maybe it's different from a gambler to another, the matter of tracking you losses is a step of choice, as it can be good, it also can bring bad news to you. Personally, what pulled me into addiction is chasing those losses everytime I lose, I tend to regain those losses, and I feel worse when by tracking all my losses to find out that big amount you lost and could save if I didn't gamble it.
That moment where your bad demons push you to deposit more and trick you into an easy comeback, while we all know how gambling really works.

Overall, as I have mentioned tracking losses is a coin of two faces. People like me are easy to trigger by fun games, the feel guilt after losing or knowing that huge amount of money lost during the day or over the month.
