I have been a member of this forum for quite a long time, but due to some real life challenges, it became difficult to keep up with forum related discussions and activities for years. Over the years of the existence of this forum, lots of things has changed and the forum has also become populated and rules became tighter, of which I am almost feeling like a new comer.

So, this makes me wanna ask, do you feel you joined the forum at the early stage (when the rules where friendly), right time or somehow late hours (as at now).

You joined the forum 2016 as I can see from your profile, that is a long time ago like 9years ago, I joined in around 2021 but took a break off due to personal health issues I will consider myself amongst the new era if there is anything like that.
About being strict, how about you see it this way that as time went the forum developed and improved more and found out better ways to run and protect the forum and the users.

Your review shows that you registered in 2016 and are quite experienced in the forum. I am still a kid compared to you. Maybe not have any idea about how friendly the forum was in its early stages but I have no complaints about the forum from what I have reviewed. If you express your disappointment considering the qualifications and promotion, it may have decreased a lot over time but the ability of the members to get qualified is also a questionable issue.

In every aspect of life you have to face challenges so it would be foolish to stop yourself you have to be patient for every good result and getting disappointed means losing. Considering the time of joining the forum this may not be a big issue for us because with time many new members are entering the forum and struggling to make themselves suitable.

No rules appear to be unfriendly to me if there is anything which I have seen over the years that some complained about and some say it’s unfair is the introduction of the merit system which most say those who came earlier where given privileges to obtain higher rank by just posting not as hard as it have become with merit system involve but that’s something not too strong to worry about for every other rules I see it as something which can easily be kept nothing over the years that I have seen as been changed unless just that we have more people active and making sure that the rules are obeyed more then it was treated in the past.

You are an old member of the forum compared to when I registered for this forum; I’m surprised you said the forum is strict compared to when you registered for the forum. And based on what Charles-Tim said earlier, I think there is nothing changed in the forum rules, even when you came to the forum that year; moreover, in both the main board and the LB board, no rule is not friendly in the forum.

Although I don’t know the reason behind your post that the forum rules are not favourable to you, while other forum members are active and no one is complaining about it, I have seen many threads that are talking about the forum rules and regulations, and nothing has changed since the creation of those topics, or it’s because your account got tagged recently?

Going through your profile I can see that you are one of the oldies in naija section, you where here before our local board was approved and I wish I was here too nine years ago as I think it was more easier for forum members back then, challenges always have a way of making us missed out on important things as you would have upgraded so much if you were here but it's good you are here to continue from where you stopped. I feel like I joined the forum late because there's still so much for me to do and learn. And I don't have any problem with the rules because it is user friendly.

First of all, I'll say you're welcome back to bitcointalk.There's definitely gonna be change in all aspects (rules,merit system),you don't expect to leave for a very long time and come back to see the rules the same.In what way are the rules not friendly,or are you talking about plaugarised contents which are highly prohibited?I believe that rule has been on that pinned thread since 2014 _{Please older members should correct me if I'm wrong}
I joined this forum last year, and the rules are quite okay to me.I'm really enjoying the forum because I've acquired so many things(knowledge)in regards to the crypto space.My advise to you Op is to adhere to the rules as time goes on the rules will seem friendly to you.

Actually the rules are friendly mate, unless you can't abide by the rules. However you can see that the rules are friendly and easy to keep that's why many people in the forum are still active from the day that they joined the forum till today. Or those the same rules want to make you leave the forum again?

It is a pity that you had to leave the forum for reasons beyond your control. It is part of life and it is good that you are back to the forum.

I think that a click on every profile would reveal the exact date and time anybody joined this forum.  Rules might have changed, but forum remains the same. The many members you met here shows that many have learned about it and love the forum.

Increase in membership here is also a bonus to bitcoin as more people would get to learn better about bitcoin and would also venture into bitcoin investment. Getting more hands to start investing in bitcoin is the goal and I think this forum has been so useful when it comes to information sharing.

I heard of when merits where airdropped and I also heard of when when some top ranking merit sources would rain over 50 merits on a single user and on a single post but that didn’t happen when I joined but will I tag myself early or late? That I don’t know but one thing I know for sure is that, I’ve a whole lot of lessons from my time being here and my growth wasn’t that difficult with the help of highly ranked users who found my post worthy of merits and also some merit giveaway threads from fillipone, hugeblack and the rest of them.

Personally I think no time is a wrong time provided you really know what you want and you’re really ready to get it and for you to have earned over 100 merits shows that you can earn 1000, just vibe, share your opinions and always try to share solutions to problems and try as much as possible to do more of reading than writing.

I newly  joined forum late last 21 november 2024 and why i joined forum is because a forum is placed where you can gain knowledge on what you don't have idea of, and also a forum is placed in which different cultures come together as one to share idea together, forum saver as a guide on newbies to know things all Bitcoin.

Ever since i joined this forum it has been so helpful to me in so many areas of my endeavors.

But even in the short time I’ve been here, I’ve noticed there’s a lot of value in the discussions. Sure, the rules can feel strict at times, but I get why they’re needed — it keeps the forum cleaner and more focused compared to many places online.

Also, I’ve come across quite a few users who give solid, no-nonsense advice. That kind of honesty is rare nowadays.

To me I seeing it to be the merits aspect.
You know many people who are just coming to the forum and meeting merits restrictions see it as something very challenging to them. Like I know, I joined the forum around 2021 December 17, and even as then merits restrictions have been set to people and only those who are that creative and knowing what they are doing could scale the forum, unlike those who were spamming and doing plagiarism and they were easily knocked out the space for their shit posting.
I didn't see anything to be that restrictive or limitative, as nothing changes

I feel like I joined the forum late because there's still so much for me to do and learn. And I don't have any problem with the rules because it is user friendly.

One thing about the forum is that with every passing season, it doesn't get all that easy. Ranking up wasn't all that deficult in the past but at present we can all see that it's not as easy as it use to be. For you to rank up at the present, you have to work for it and earn every bit of it or else ranking up will almost look impossible. Also, in the past, there use to be a lot of rank up post that helped newbies rank up easily and because of the limited numbers of newbies on the forum, the merits allocated to merit source were always enough to go round all those that are quality posters.

Even though things have become relatively tougher, the advantage we have now is that we have more of quality posters ranking up than just casual persons that are in the forum for the sake of what they stand to gain from the forum. It might not be what everyone will like but it's definitely a good thing that while we are all ranking up, we are equally growing as well.

If na b4 veteran members nor dey chill for young accounts oh for discussions and if you do like sey you too sabi, dem go begin drag u sey you nor sabi wetin u dey yarn and sey you dey mislead d community wit nonsense yarn. Some of dem fit even give u neutral tag for dat kain thing.

Members then wey dem blood dey hot don cool down now. If na b4, na one week one trouble. You go fear as members dey do hot exchange of words, accusations and allegations. Now nor be like dat.
