For me I instead of leaving a Bank share investment for your kids in this contemporary time, I will rather choose to buy some amount of Bitcoin for them, hold it while they grow up, at least when kid grow to some certain level it not bad to start teaching them finances and money management, since such education is not restricted to 18+ as other things, so I can begin Bitcoin education for my kids even in pre secondary level.

Bitcoin investment is not to be forced on anyone. When children have come of age that they can decide what they want to do with their lives, if they don’t want to venture into Bitcoin anymore, it is better they let them be. If it has been willed to them and they decide not to keep the investment in Bitcoin, they should be allowed to sell the holdings and not keep the Bitcoin. Bitcoin investment is not a rocket science and as such, time will tell for those that decide to take on this path to financial stability rather than employing other methods. Time is moving and I think for those that don’t invest in Bitcoin when they had the chance will be regretting to some extent while still having the fear not to invest even now thinking they’re late at it again. The market is very volatile but with the right approach to this investment, you would appreciate the day you held on to this investment to your profitable stage.

If you know kids, you’d know that pressuring them into doing something will only drive them away more. You should try at least but if they continue to not show interest then there is nothing more you can do. Maybe ask them what they want to do and see what they want to make of their future. there is nothing that they can do from learning about investing as a child. its the parents that decide what to give their child so the parent can just stash some sats for their child and then teach the child when they become teenagers and start earning an allowance. giving the teen the choice of investing their allowance or spending frivolously

infact even when a teenager, the parent can decide on just taking a cut from the teens allowance to invest. call it a tax, teach the teen that nothing comes free or in full. teach them that even their 'income' gets cut to benefit a future 'security', 'benefit'

dont force a teen into giving up all their allowance or they will simply stop doing chores and start rebelling.. much like if an adults employer stopped paying wages and syphoned the funds into some employee pension plan

so educate the teen about basic economics and smart planning of how what and when to spend their allowance. but dont force them to give it all up

obviously birthdays and gifts can be where parents give a normal physical gift which the child/teen wants, and put aside some funds into stashing sats as a extra gift whether the child/teen wants it or not. but dont just refuse to give them the birthday gift they would prefer to instead total all gift value intended to be spent, to be put into stashing sats

You're just pushing them away and will have a rebel mind why you're so pushy about the things that they don't like. And that's why it will come naturally and they'll invest soon when they are aware of what it is in the real life.

Teaching children is something that must be done especially when it comes to financial matters because after all, even though in the end children have their own lives later, I think we must be aware that learning or at least introducing so that children can understand more about financial matters as a support for them in the future is something that is indeed our obligation as parents.

your points about the drawbacks of leaving BTC as an inheritance is really a matter of concern.
As Cryptocurrency is a digital asset, it can be easily lost or stolen and that is a huge risk if the owner or inheritor is not technologically knowledgeable and proper precautions are not in place. The most important thing is that the beneficiaries know how to keep, use and protect their bitcoins with privacy and decentralization to be the main.

Or you could also consider the option of incorporating Bitcoin into a proper estate plan 
With this solution, you may use multi-signature wallets that allow the heirs to receive the assets in a secure manner after the owner's death or custodial services.
And the very process of teaching your offspring about the fundamentals of cryptos and money management could be a proper solution

Personally, I don't think I would pressure or force them. I would try to keep showing them the advantageous side of it every time and maybe begin to start involving them little by little, by letting them watch how I trade or explaining how it helped me personally. Bitcoin investment is good for kids, but kids should be educated about Bitcoin at a very young age and should not be pressured. When kids are pressured to learn about investing at a very young age, their intellectual development is affected. Young kids should always be kept in a new mindset and should not be pressured to make money. I have a young kid. If I educate my young kid on Bitcoin now, his education will definitely be damaged because when he becomes a money-making person, he will give up his education and expect to make money. When a kid becomes an adult, he can be pressured but should never be pressured or forced at a young age. And when my kid becomes an adult, if he doesn't want to learn about Bitcoin or Bitcoin investing, I will never force him against his will.

Instead of pressuring children to show interest regards Bitcoin, why not teaching them about the value of money on daily life? Show them money doesn't come for free and that effort and hard work are needed when acquiring it, especially at the beginning of life.

If they feel it for real, I'm sure they will develop interest for Bitcoin and investments quite fast. And how can parents do that? By not giving children everything they demand. If children want gifts and to buy things, tell them they have to complete tasks in counterpart. They have to work somehow, even in case parents are wealthy individuals.

It's not about being unable to afford to buy, rather it's about teaching children a valuable lesson.
