Hi there, i have a Trezor hardware wallet and i've been using Trezor Suite with it since I bought it, but I was considering trying other software like Wasabi or Blockstream Green and I wanted to check if it's a good idea or if doing it would expose my funds in some way that I'm not considering.

Also, which software should I use?

Thank you.

it all depends on how much value you have in the wallet.

if you are well over 20,000usd value buy a second trezor put 100 usd into it then try any and all firmware and softwares you want on the trezor with 100 dollars in it.

that is most likely the best way for you to find out.

The commonest wallet that you can use with Trezor on this forum is Electrum. This is Electrum official website: https://electrum.org/

It will not expose your coins as long as you are doing it rightly.

If you are looking for another software wallet because you want to add more coins, know that the Trezor still hold the keys to the coins and not necessary of having another software wallet for it or get yourself another hardware wallet if you do not want to put your coins in basket which is good.

it all depends on how much value you have in the wallet.

if you are well over 20,000usd value buy a second trezor put 100 usd into it then try any and all firmware and softwares you want on the trezor with 100 dollars in it.

that is most likely the best way for you to find out.

I really like this idea of a “bait” wallet, I always use this method when I need to use some software that I might have some doubts about, or even when I re-download the wallets because of a format on my PC
I just put 50 or 100 USD value and wait a few days

I recommend Electrum, which is the wallet I've been using since 2017 and I use it both as a hotwallet and in conjunction with my hardwallet
I'm about to buy a Trezor and will also use it together with Electrum

Since you will be using a hardwallet, you'll not expose your seed, so you'll not expose your funds  Wink

Also, which software should I use?
Since I don't know the whole picture, I prefer not to say which one you should use or not, but in addition to Electrum [mentioned by previous users], Sparrow is also somewhat popular in the community [it comes with a lot of useful features, so it's great for Trezor and a few other HWs].
- Nunchuk is also great, but it's not that user-friendly.

It all depends what coins you are using, but I don't see anything wrong with Trezor Suite.
If you only want to use Bitcoin with Trezor than you can just connect it with Electrum and Spparow wallet.
Nothing will be exposed because seedphrase is stored in secure element, and it never leaves, unless you made a big scam mistake and enter them manually somewhere.
On Trezor website there is a list of supported coins and wallets, so you can find more information there:

The wallet connected to Hardware wallet is just an interface (UI) to interact with your coins, it doesn't access sensitive device data like private keys, seeds, xprvs and so on;

Of course, as long as you make sure to setup correctly, for example, there are people who confuse hotwallet fundos with the hardware wallet integrated with a software wallet, mistakenly sending funds to hotwallet thinking to be financing the original hardware wallet connected, just understand the operation of the software wallet in question and pay attention to what you're doing.

On wallets with hardware wallet support, among them are: Electrum, Sparrow Wallet, Wasabi/Ginger Wallet...

But Trezor Suite has an incredible interface..I honestly can't think of any missing features. That said, whenever you need to update your wallet's firmware, you'll either need Trezor Suite or to download and install the firmware via command line using trezorctl (recommended for advanced users).
