It’s unexpected but really good to see that stores even in rural areas are brave enough to implement bitcoin in their businesses. I could be different but I don't want anyone knows that I have bitcoin and cryptocurrency. The practice of entering such places, and proactively asking for such information or paying some stuffs with bitcoin or altcoin potentially bring more curious eyes on me and puts me at higher risk. I don't want to put myself at risk by my own practice so practically I avoid to pay things directly with bitcoin.

It depends on the person who is using btc as some will find it convenient but I believe, a lot will think that it is just wasting btc when you use it for payment purposes. If the transaction fees are high, I would say, better convert your crypto to your fiat and just use the fiat for payment. Sometimes, it is indeed not practical to use your crypto directly. Much better if you convert it and use the fiat. With that, just assess the situation and you can surely opt for better deals with your crypto. Offering such service would attract some curious people, and who knows, it will be start of their journey with btc?

This may still be pretty good because looking at what is happening it seems like bitcoin adoption is getting better and more people know about bitcoin as time goes by but if I'm not wrong in analyzing from the picture you provided then we are in the same country and we know that in this country it still makes bitcoin a commodity asset not as legal tender or exchange.

In general, paying for pizza, coffee or whatever, with bitcoin and keeping the fiat, is not very smart.

I wouldn't say it is not a smart thing to do, i know that fiat is the inflationary currency and BTC has the potential to go very high, so it makes sense to hold BTC and spend fiat. I also quite like merchants who are willing to accept Bitcoin as payment because it indicates that they have knowledge about Bitcoin and know where to bring Bitcoin when they want to cash it into fiat. And of course there is nothing wrong with that because besides there is no coercion for others, it also doesn't harm others because at the time of payment everyone can have two choices, namely the usual fiat option or the Bitcoin option if the person has Bitcoin and is willing to use Bitcoin for that.

Although he is not harming anyone, it would be unwise to ignore government regulations and accept bitcoin when it is not yet a legal payment method in your country. I would not support this action and let's look at the bigger picture. What if the government suddenly came to his store and charged him? This not only affects his business but also affects the life of the whole family if he is the main economic pillar in the family.

If I may ask, as the shop owner uses bitcoin for payments, is he specifically receiving the bitcoins from clients? Does he also uses bitcoin to buy the shop goods as well? Because if we can tell ourselves the truth, it's not a profitable approach for such described (small retail shop) to facilitate on bitcoin accepting and sending out bitcoin for payments process.
As the case maybe, the shop serves as investment which the investors goal is to explore by the profits that may be yield from the shop but since bitcoin is a volatile currency and we know the market liquidity doesn't always go high but fluctuates, the bankroll of the shop could be diminished because it'd profer the owner losses.
However, as a  still growing business person, it's only advised to accept the bitcoin and hodl it which as well serves as alternative source where you stack your savings instead of the bank while it's owes you the certainty of yielding incomes in the long run while targeting the market movements.

Op never mentioned that BTC is illegal in his country and if it were not legal, there is no way this merchant will accept BTC payment in his shop, neither will he display the name 'BTC cell' right in the front of his shop. If it were illegal, i am sure this merchant would have been reported to the authorities and would probably have been prosecuted.

The problem I have with to is the rate of scams that can happen when people advertise thier business for accepting cryptocurrency and make people want to patronized them from all parts of the world. If a scam was to happen, how to recover the funds for the victims is going to be so difficult. Scams are still big hence we shouldn't patronize any business we see only because we want to support the adoption of Bitcoin. For people in the rural areas where this business are located, encouraging the business owners through buying what they sell should be our priorities. Go to the Bitcoin accepter than going to others, when they see more customers going to people accepting Bitcoin, others will want to do the same so that they can get customers too. This act creates publicity for Bitcoin and also goes a long way in Bitcoin adoption.
