I rather take some profit, wait for a new dip to form so I can buy again. What is investment if I can't strategize. The beauty of every investment is having a strategy at all point be it bull or bearish. The more coin I have the more value my coin returns the hike resumes.
I couldn't agree more with this. You invest because you want to make a profit. Unless there is another reason why I acquired that bitcoin, if not, when I see the price pump to a certain level, the safest thing to do at that moment is to secure a profit while you sit back and watch the market for the perfect time to get back and acquire more. Better still, if you want to play it too safe because you don't know what the market holds for you, you can share the holding, sell some and leave some so that either way the market reaches you will still be on the safer side.

All ultimately depends on the personal choice of each because regardless of selling to take profits or stay in bitcoin everything returns to our personal will in the end besides that, it does not mean that those who do not sell do not want to take profits but they have another goal to stay in bitcoin in the hope that the longer what they hold, the greater the profit and because they believe that long-term investment always provides a much lower risk than trading.

I personally still have that feeling even though maybe for some people I will be said to be stupid but that is the commitment I have.
Today there are even more people who don't even sell their bitcoins for a much longer time and there may even be those who still hold their bitcoins even though they are in the early phase, so why should I sell my assets now that it has only been running for 3 years because I still have confidence that the future could be much higher in value.

Tell that to everyone who sold Bitcoin at $100 and $1000 and thought that they were geniuses. They got impatient, and sold a lot. Now many of them talk bad about Bitcoin.  Roll Eyes

I don't think there is an investor or institution who bought Bitcoin that doesn't have the intention of making profits. The profit making is the intention behind Bitcoin investment by many. If Bitcoin had not been giving investors the desired profits they look out for, in the long run, I don't think it would be attracting investors the way it does. Is holding Bitcoin for a lifetime a good strategy? Don't we need to use it for our lives? Selling means coin circulation increases and price will dump. As much as a sell start chart dump as well. Holding means less circulation on the chain; the more people hold the price will keep pumping. So if you want to take profit, you must sell at some points, and you have to buy it again when it dumps. No record Bitcoin just keeps pumping without a dump. So opportunity will come definitely.

I advise holding, but you should have a target for selling points. Then wait for the dump and accumulate again. That's how you can make profits, and it's really necessary. Unless we use Bitcoin profits in our lives, then what's the benefit in case we die? We must need to take advantage of the volatile but need to think deeply about it.

Because markets move in cycles Bitcoin can soar but it also crashes hard. Taking profit locks in gains & reduces risk. You’re not “selling out,” you’re being smart. No one ever went broke taking profit but plenty went broke holding too long waiting for the next peak.
Actually different people has different reasons of investing in Bitcoin. Some people are aggressive investors and they are reluctant to take profit while some are just investing such as to have some profit to take. Some are just investing in bitcoin to see if they will be able monopolize the economy in the future.
Also, there are people who has no directions on where to go but they are just in the market. But I am an advocate of investing in bitcoin with purpose and target. When your target is hit, you take profit and set another target. The life is not as long as we see them.

I believe despite how bullish the market is, it’s still a safer way to take profits when there are opportunities to enjoy profits. Though it’s never compulsory but it’s certainly necessary. Holders gonna hold with an indefinite time, but at the end of the day, it’s still a necessity to sell and enjoy the fruits of your patience and long term hodling.

However, we can’t do nothing with those who still chose to keep hodling their bitcoin. That’s their right and no one can lead their investment more than them. But at least they will realize that bitcoin may won’t take forever, so if they can take time to sell and gain their hard-earned profits, much better.
Selling is just an option, but hodling is like the main focus with bitcoin investment. However, no matter how majority of us here try to convince new investors to buy and then focus on hodling, that won’t guarantee long term profitability with bitcoin. Bitcoin is still undeniably highly volatile, it’s good to hold but it’s still the best ad appropriate way to take time to sell.

Selling will guarantee your profits as long as you bought it at a lower price, but hodling forever, that remains uncertain if you’ll end up with your dream profits since bitcoin can inevitably dump its price without us being warned. That’s the high risk with bitcoin long term-hodling.

Bitcoin is an asset, an investment that is attracting the whole world because of its potential to bring high profits. So people who put money into bitcoin but say they are not for profit are just fake and blatant liars. I bet that if Bitcoin becomes stable or can no longer provide large returns, it will be inevitable that many investors will leave and seek alternatives.

There are people who invested or even bet in Bitcoin very early but not all of them managed to hold their bitcoins for profit and got richer to be millionaires or billionaires. Who succeeded to become either millionaires or billionaires through Bitcoin would feel very happily even if they had hold their bitcoin for longer time, their well-being would have been much better.

People have regret mostly because they lost their bitcoins or sold it for very cheap prices and did not get too much profit eventually. Time is irreversible, Bitcoin value and price won't return to its figures many years ago, so regret won't help anything. They only can invest in Bitcoin again, hold and wait for profit as at least they have advantage againt complete newbies in this market, with experience over past years.

Bitcoin can be considered as anything with either accurate terms or incorrect terms but what you think Bitcoin is won't change what Bitcoin actually is. You can use inaccurate term for mentioning about Bitcoin, but if you can invest, hold and get good profit with it, you are good and that's enough.

It's still better than if you understood Bitcoin well, used correct term for it but in your practice you did not make it well and did not get good profit.

The buying and selling will always revolve considering the fact that everyone is not and will never buy or sell the same time, it is what it is and this has been keeping the market the way it is, we have individual goals and objectives, telling ourselves what we want should always make us to take responsibilities for our actions, there are those who might be able to hold much longer than the other and it all depends on what they want, but even while we may not rely on historical performance of Bitcoin we could say that it is much profitable to hold for a long term with a reasonable size than the short term while there are those who also believe that profit is profit no matter how small it is. However, the power is out hands to do whatever we like and as well take responsibilities.

One thing that everyone says is to keep holding bitcoin no matter what. Even when the price goes down because it will continue to rise and even if it rises keep holding because it will also keep rising. The average time coins are held in a wallet has decreased over the past few weeks. While to some this may indicate negative signals, Santiment says that this is necessary to keep a rally alive.

“This adds weight to the argument that the market is in an active phase, and not just being driven by short-term speculation,”

People selling just means that coins are being brought back into circulation and allows the network to grow. Do you agree? I think this is a different approach to what we usually see when people see the price dropping and people taking profit.

Some people sell, other people keep HODLing. Every investor on the market is following his own strategy(some investors don't have strategies).
There's nothing wrong with selling BTC, when there's a bull run on the market(and buying when the price drops) and also there's nothing wrong with HODLing your BTC. Selling BTC adds liquidity on the market, while HODLing BTC helps in maintaining market scarcity(less BTC in circulation). Both options are good for the market. Some investors have turned from day traders into HODLers, while others turned from hardcore HODLers to BTC sellers. There's nothing wrong with being flexible and adapting to the conditions on the market.

The selling also means that bitcoin is being liquidated and the MC is reducing, thereby decreasing the value of bitcoin. Bitcoin is a store of value and therefore its value increases when more people buy it and hold and not when it is liquidated.

Taking profit is not a bad thing, but taking short-term profits is somehow immature in bitcoin investment, because the profitability potential within that period is very little compared to long-term holding which the profits compound on your investment and the profit margin is much higher.

Bitcoin price history has shown clearly that the long-term holders are the winners in the investment activity.

I used to sell most of my BTC back then was price was hovering between 40 - 60K. Chances are that we won't see such levels again.

But like the old adage that has been repeated, always diversify holdings so one is not simply bound to one portfolio and is forced to liquidate most if not all when markets rise and fall.

By all means you can take profit when your Bitcoin gets return on investment, afterall it is your money and you are the one that worked hard to make the money that you used to accumulate Bitcoin. I am an advocate of taking some profit in the bull run, you can take some percentage as a reward to enjoy yourself because you don't know when bear run will start and the value will begin to dump. But if you can hold for 10 years and more without taking any profit that is a personal decision and I respect it because it is not easy. But again nobody can hold their Bitcoin forever, there will always be a time to take some profit, sell part of your stash or sell off, how long depends on what every holders wants because it is their money.

I agree with you because we all have different purposes in investing in Bitcoin, but the important thing every investor should have at the back of their mind is to always take advantage of the market and HODL until the desired profit is met. Nobody Hodl's Bitcoin forever; we all have our limits for taking profit. For those who can invest aggressively and hold Bitcoin for a long time, it is not a bad idea as long as one can stand by their decision and achieve their target in investing in Bitcoin. Different investors have different goals and targets. The most important thing as an investor is to understand the direction you are heading regarding your investment.

The investor's financial situation and long-term goals should be focused on. There are some who try to deposit only in Bitcoin for the long term, while there are others who are more interested in taking profits. From my point of view, I think that if someone has a good financial situation, then he should plan to hold Bitcoin for at least more than 4 years. He may face big profits during holding, but if he does not panic at that time but works to fulfill his expectations, then he can definitely get big returns. However, for those who do not have the ability to hold it for the long term, if they can sell it at a profit as a result of the market trend, it is certainly not a bad idea.

I rather take some profit, wait for a new dip to form so I can buy again. What is investment if I can't strategize. The beauty of every investment is having a strategy at all point be it bull or bearish. The more coin I have the more value my coin returns the hike resumes.

I can't risk it at this point no taking some profits, what if the price drops and I lack the finance to buy at the new dip whereas i had a chance to sell some coin when the price was high so I can have more capital to buy at a better price.
That's what I do will take profit when it reaches the target, because this is part of the strategy then it must be done do not just HODL continuously without planning, but when selling it is only a part so that you still have bitcoins stored and the profits can be used again when the price is down, then the accumulation of bitcoins is much better like this.

Maybe everyone has a different plan, where they will HODL in the long term even though they still have a lot of dollars in their pockets so they can still buy in a state of not selling their coins.

Tell that to everyone who sold Bitcoin at $100 and $1000 and thought that they were geniuses. They got impatient, and sold a lot. Now many of them talk bad about Bitcoin.  Roll Eyes
It depends, if they bought bitcoins at under $1 or less and sold them for $100 or $1000, they would have made a huge profit and become rich. Why should they regret when they have made a profit and are enjoying life?
There is not a single person who does not regret it. Admit your mistakes, don't hide from them.

That is complete bullshit. People like you do not like the idea behind cryptocurrency at all. You just came here for profit in fiat, you could care less if it was decentralized or anything like that. On the contrary, there are people who are not like that, and do actually follow satoshi's vision.

Agree there should be no problem with how people manage their bitcoin because after all everyone has their own methods, targets and also different financial levels, what if that person gets financial constraints and needs it as soon as possible but does not have an emergency fund or someone who invests only in bitcoin then there is nothing wrong with taking some profit from the use of bullrun or selling it because they want when the price drops they can buy more even though it is not known exactly when the price will drop but considering bitcoin is a volatile asset there must be a decline at some point. The most important thing is not to sell all ownership.

Investment, one word that has one meaning, which is to make our future better financially (if investing in assets such as bitcoin). But how to run investments such as in bitcoin, of course, everyone has different methods, whether in terms of taking profits or how to accumulate them. So with this, now the purchase methods and the right time to take profits in bitcoin have been born. I think this is something that can be debated, but don't blame others who don't have the same understanding or methods as us. Because everyone has a different situation, and everyone has different desires. So if someone can only hold bitcoin for 4 to 5 years, I think that person is still a good bitcoin investor too.

Then for bitcoin investors who are only able to hold bitcoin for 2 to 3 years, I think at this stage the investor is also quite good. Likewise with traders, I think we don't need to look down on traders in bitcoin, because basically they are also bitcoin lovers, but maybe they prefer daily or weekly trading, I think that is not a problem. So the point is we don't take it too seriously when we see many people who will sell their bitcoins to make a profit, because that is their right. And I personally, am currently still in the accumulation stage in bitcoin and I will definitely continue to do DCA on bitcoin. And for those who have already profited from bitcoin, I say congratulations.

People selling just means that coins are being brought back into circulation and allows the network to grow. Do you agree? I think this is a different approach to what we usually see when people see the price dropping and people taking profit.
When supply increases, of course it's not always positive, because there can be that prices crash. But inevitably, people have to sell their coins if they wish to use that money somehow to enjoy their life. It makes no sense to hold money forever, like those people who used to hide fiat below the mattress, what was discovered only after they passed away.

To sell Bitcoin is part of the process, considering we don't have many alternatives to use BTC as currency. If there were more sellers accepting Bitcoin as payment method, I think we wouldn't need to get rid of our coins too often, though.
