Negative Sendable Merits. A bug?

Today, sending my first merits, I noticed I have a negative stash of merits:



I couldn't send more once I depleted the five merits from my personal allocation.
Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

Just checked my status, my merits are working fine. I think It's being issues with merit sourcer.

Today might be the last day of your merit source already existing merit to expire so it might have expired leading to allowing you send only your personal merit and not the merit from source.

Will be renewed I guess then the minus sign will leave.

I think it will only show for merit sources only

No problem on my side at all. I even tried to spend an smerit to see if the balance turns into a negative value but nothing happens.
Could it be a bug mostly happening to merit sources?

Theymos must be working on merit sources, trying to renew your monthly allocations hence the sign shows that you're not allowed to send from you merit source again since the previous merit were not completely spent for last month so he might be adding/renewing the merit for all merit sources.

404 errors happen only if the URL is broken or the webpage is not found and everyone's page is working.

From a good view on the image it shows, altcoinstalk isn't it?
someone else can confirm so don't confuse this forum to another.

From my observation, it's obvious in this thread only two people are having that issue, and you both are merit sources, which could either mean that it's either a bug affecting only merit sources, or the admin is making some allocations and deductions from the leftover of the current month it's already the end of the month.

It’s opening from my own end… I guess it’s something only affecting the merit sources.

Don't understand why this is happening to you. I can see that everything is working fine on my BitcoinTalk. However, there is a problem with AltcoinTalk. I can't log in. It seems like they are working on a bug.

Don't be afraid. Wait a little time. Maybe everything will be fine. Maybe they are having a temporary problem due to some work.

Hopefully, everything will be sorted before we understand how those numbers are computed.

Just like I said, the bad guys are merit sources. possible what I said earlier is true/fact.

You have received a total of 2494 merit. This is what determines your forum rank. You typically cannot lose this merit. You have -13509 sendable merit (sMerit) which you can send to other people. There is no point in hoarding sMerit; keeping it yourself does not benefit you, and we reserve the right to decay unused sMerit in the future.

You are a merit source. The next 0 merit you spend will come from your source rather than your sMerit balance. Merit spent from your source will come back in 30 days. Unused source merit is wasted. It is not allowed for merit sources to sell their merit.

When I try to send a merit it gives an error.

You do not have enough sendable merit.


Merit Stats page is working fine for me though.

In one way, I might resonate with this, and in another way, I'm poised to ask a question to fillippone and other merrit sources.

If there is a renewal period and this error falls within that period, then we can all assume it is the renewal process, else it is obviously a bug on the sMerits of the merit sources and you'll should await a fix on that.

Merit Stats page is working fine for me though.

Merit are replenished exactly 30 days after are spent. You send a merit on day t, on day t+30 on the very second you sent, you have it back.
Totally automated. No calendar month involved.
