Why don't the rich people get addicted easily?

Anyone can get addicted to gambling regardless pf the class: rich, poor or middle class. The reason why it's not so prevalent in the rich is because they have no obligation to continue gambling in a way that gets their emotions attached.

For other classes, there is constant need to either:

• Make fresh profits.
• Make back what you lost.

I think it's safe to say only the rich find gambling to be fun regardless of the outcome — win or loss. I'm not expert and I may be wrong as well on it this.

I agree with you, wealthy people can also become addicted to gambling, but many of them don't get addicted because their initial goal in gambling is simply to have fun. They already have plenty of money, so whether they lose or win, both of these things do not have much influence on their attitudes. Conversely, poor people often use gambling as a way to change their fortunes. I think, just from their motivation alone, we can easily see that poor people are more susceptible to addiction. However, I don't mean to judge or blame them, because everyone is free to choose what they want.

Rich people are also people, thay can get addicted like anyone else. The thing is that when they get addicted they have bigger "buffer" and won't go bankrupt and ruin their economic well being if they encounter losing streak. They won't have to borrow money from people around them and they can keep their addiction secret.

If some poor guy get addicted everyone around him will know he's addict and he'll probably try to borrow money from everyone around him. That will be telltale sign to everyone that he's addicted.

I know it is not as common as seeing people who are poor to get their life ruined and buried in debt, but there have definitely rich people who have gone bankrupt and lost everything due to their gambling addiction. It is not impossible, just less common.
In general, rich people try to get richer, and they soon realize that in order to manage to reach those objectives they do not need to play against a casino, but rather establish their own (Donald Trump is a good example of it).
In the end of the day, it does not matter whether one is rich or not, the most important thing when comes to gambling is learning the basic mathematical rules which run the casino and realize how the edge favors the house in the long term. It is a game, so all of us are just supposed to get our economical expectations as low as possible and just take any good luck streak and a blessing and cash it out.

Addiction in gambling has nothing to do with class, the rich and poor can get addicted to it. The rich definitely lose more money than the poor and middle class, this is because they have more money to gamble with, on like the poor or middle class. The reason why people don't feel that the rich get addicted to gambling is because they are wealthy and have businesses that generate money for them, so they are not really affected when they lose, unlike the poor or middle class. You are completely correct, both the wealthy and penniless are not safe from gambling addiction. But in my opinion the impoverished people have higher risks. i think problems associated with gambling increase by half in impoverished communities then richer ones, and underprivileged communities experience way more damage. Although wealthier people wager more money , those with small income get more of the damage when they lose, they risk from the little that they have, so yes addiction does not care about how much money you got , but the burden is bigger on the poor

You are correct and I have seen a lots of people who are rich but they are gambler and addicted on drinking. Actually they can do what they want but it could not effect to local people as they can manage funds easily. But those who are poor people they can commit various shameful event for which others can suffer a lot.

The reason the poor people addiction are most talk about it's because we have more poor gamblers on the street everyday. We hardly see the rich addicted gamblers. They both feed emotional trauma regardless how rich you are , no one is happy when they lose in gambling. The rich has a back up funds ,they can easily get over it faster than the poor that might end up not eating for  days because he uses his food stuffs funds in gambling . The rich faces same disappointed at home, but they have back up funds to recover fast. The difference are their ability to recover, the poor take longer time to recover at some point it leads them to stealing people things to get the money.  Gambling addiction is real both the poor and the rich suffer it. Let's be guided with gambling.

It's true that your bank account doesn't determine whether you will become addicted or not as even the rich can be addicted because it's all about lifestyle and what people like to do, but what you should understand is that the mindset of the poor when it comes to gambling is quite different from that of the rich.


The poor is always having the mentality of making it through gambling and so they continue gambling and harming themselves the more while the rich is looking at gambling from purely an entanglement or pleasure point of view.

You are right, gambling addiction isn't really matter of people that are rich,it's all about self discipline..They are people that are not doing well financially but they are gambling everyday wrecklessly...This addiction can affect anyone that's the reason why what actually matters is your level of self control discipline..Both those that are rich and poor can get addicted to Gambling, it's not an addiction experienced by poor people alone

Sure gambling addiction is not meant for the Rich nor the poor but for both, permit me to say that addiction is optional. Because if you don't want to be a gambling addict you will have to be very careful so as to avoid messing things up. While those who are not afriad of being addicted to gamble don't take safety precautions they do as they like they see addiction like something that is very common until it Hits their face that's when they will realize what they have gotten themselves into.

OP, the rich also get addicted if you may wish to know. I have witnessed a situation were a once rich man got addicted and lost all he has, his wife left him for good and till today he has not  been able to recover from his loss. He sold his car, house and valuables just in pursuit to recovering his losses but the more he chased his loses, the more he loss more and this keep repeating itself till his wife was fed up and she left him. People were saying lots of things about his case to be related to a spiritual attack to destroy his life and render him useless while some say he is an addicted gambler and mind you, his friend  introduced him to gambling and that friend is no where to be found today.

This is an open question, maybe I could be wrong in the eye of some of you but am asking this question because a  large number of addicted gamblers are not even up to a middle class standard but they are addicted. Can someone tell me why it's like that or is it totally a different case in your society, maybe an opposite of what I asking is happening in your own society. Poor people gets more addicted, following the middle class before it gets to the rich. Since it's like that, I think it's just the poor people that are gambling the most in the world, if am not correct, I stand to be corrected.

Because rich people have the best education, insights, trust funds, a silver platter, a ducking butler for God sake. Its nuts man. When I was in high-school I went to a Christian camp in GA and a lot of other youth groups went too. I met some kid there and his parents like own Zaxbys or some shit and im still friends with them and see their posts and the lavish life they live is unreal. They flew to Switzerland just the other day in their jet to get a few Rolex and now they are parading today on some huge farm and dressed to the 9s for some big fancy wedding. They dont have time to gamble all of their money away they're too busy spending it on cash flowing assets or other big biz deals making them even more $$$$
