Besides it adds native Trezor support, plus Solana NFT handling got better too, and Monero sync now shows progress smoothly instead of looking frozen while the wallet starts up.

Just highlighting, I just saw the announcement of native support for Trezor transaction signatures in their post on X. I'm liking to see that they are integrating hardware wallets with native support in Cake software, most of the workflow used to be all through Trezor Suite mobile.

Fresh Cake release, namely 6.4.5.

It’s mostly the polish release that makes the Trezor connection faster ^{which was definately needed}.

Cake UI got a few small layout tweaks and handful of bug fixes , so  app should  run smoother and the difference should be noticable ^{hope I'm not wrong with this}.

I'm still using version 6.4.4
I haven't gotten a notification for an updated version. The app runs smoothly enough right now, so anything that would be better than this would be nice. Comparing how the app is now to how it was when I started using it, I can see that it has come a long way.
Everything synchronises much faster now.

It's the shame they "paused" updating the wallet for desktop users ever since version 6.0.0. It's been more than 10 months since they said they were going to "overhaul and redesign" the desktop builds and nothing has been out yet.

As far as i know or observed since i installed cakewallet, there is no notification or pop up notif when there's a new update of the app. Aside from playstore notif of pending updates, the moment you open PS (if android user). Or is this simply because update notifications are not prioritized in my notification settings? Well, it's enabled btw.

I am still on version 6.4.3 for now. Not really in a hurry to update yet. lol

Yeah, they don't send notifications for updates. They don't even send a notification when you receive or make a transaction (I think that's a little something that needs to change). It's the Play Store notification I was talking about. After I saw the post about the new version, I even checked but didn't see any updated version.

Yeah, they don't send notifications for updates. They don't even send a notification when you receive or make a transaction (I think that's a little something that needs to change). Sometimes there is a delay between the time the developers release a new version and it is included on PlayStore and sends the update required notification.

But regarding the in-app update notification, some developers consider it a weakness and an attack vector that may be exploited. Implementing such a feature needs to be done with extra care. Yeah yeah, that really make sense. Especially in-app notifications can be bypassed and exploited if used like with api. I remember a local exchange in my country was exploited with the same method, the third party account for the in-app notification was compromised. Just like that the effect was like on electrum, the difference, nothing was downloaded, but victims connect their web3 wallet that cause losses.
