How to improve your writing ✍️ skill

So I know everyone here is trying their best to grow and is really nice seeing users here putting in the work , well I create this post to help those that’s still finding it  difficult when comes to writing a thread . Most time I heard that is all about quality but most folks don’t understand the quality they are talking about even some even go to the extent thinking that long posts are what make post quality (which not actually true ) because your post can be bulky and still don’t have quality, So am gonna drop some tips .

• Always know your target audience, all post you are making there’s always a targeted reader . Just like this one is mainly those that’s still finding it difficult when comes to writing .

• Write with clarity, avoid confusing your readers and try to put it in a simpler and understandable manner .

• Always do your Research about that thing you wanna talk about before talking about it to avoid sending wrong informations or going off topic.

• And also avoid pyramid quoting , because it can affect the neatness of your post and can also discourage users from reading your posts too.


I can’t list everything myself, as I’m also a work in progress and constantly learning,  after all we grow every day. So I would love to hear from other users too. Feel free to share your own thoughts and ideas on this.

The most important place to focus is the title, title is what attract people the most to come make comments, but if your title is not in line or correspondence to what you are saying then it could be very hard for people to come make comments, that is why most people often says that your "title is misleading" but with proper title which speaks more about the body of the content could make people easily come to comment and share their own thoughts as well.

And you are right, many people with their ways of detecting qualities post, to me I detect or rate my quality to how much the post has helped me, I mean how informative that post could be then I consider such post quality otherwise I wouldn't put any effort strains my eyes reading them.

I was once a victim of creating a long wall of text with the hope that is quality, but as time goes I have to understand that 'Good' is quality enough than writing 300 words just to arrive at same Good.

Another point is that the topic should be a summary of what you intend to talk about so that there's much meaning to the context before one even begin to read through.

I think with this forum, grammar or speaking big grammar doesn't make much difference because I have seen some posts that has no much coherence, not coordinated sentence and other aspects of good English but they are appreciated with merits. So the buttom line is to share knowledge that will benefit the forum members and the forum identity ( that is what the forum stand for) and ideas that will enrich the users. Although, good grammar is a good vehicle but like you said, you need to research on what you are posting and know what information you are sending across. This forum is not basically an English class but more of a Bitcoin and crypto gathering.

You don't say, "the most important place of focus, but rather it should be, "part of the most important areas of focus when writing a post". If the title is the most important then the title should be well enough to give the reader a comprehensive message of the post. But both the title and the both of the post are equally important.

You might have a wrong post title but with a good post that would interest readers and they wouldn't mind about your title. But if you have a good title but with low quality post, you just haven't done anything good entirely.

Dis wan so na d koko for d whole writing wit clarity thing in general, nor be for only dis forum. Another thing wey u go add to it na make persin sabi how to use punctuation marks. I dey see many people wey dey write a whole paragraph without a full stop. I mean, a paragraph wey go pass five lines but dem nor go bother with comma and full stop marks. How dem wan make persin read and understand dem at once?

Dis wan dey painful, especially wen we see high ranked member dey do am. I believe sey na laziness to snip things out dey make members do block quotes. Laziness to edit out. E nor too make sense. I going to make more emphasis on punctuation marks,I've noticed that most Nigerians on this forum don't make use of their punctuation marks in an appropriate way.Your punctuation marks mean alot to the readers you are passing your information to.Improving your writing skills shouldn't only be focused on "quality posts",using your punctuation marks in the right order also makes you a skilled writer.Reading a content without punctuation marks can be very confusing to the readers to comprehend.So,let's put it at the tip of our fingers.
Before I conclude,let me also emphasize on lengthy posts, your lengthy post doesn't make it a quality one if all you're passing is out of track.Besides,lengthy posts can be so tiring to read.

Well said, passing the wrong information here can make someone that's supposed to reward your information chose to ignore you therefore before giving opinions or trying to teach people in this space about a certain thing you must have a very good knowledge concerning the discussion or a topic you want to teach on, another thing is that ones topic should tally with what they want to teach, for instance you can't be teaching about long-term holding and referring to Altcoins in your context it doesn't relate in anyway and would make people ignore you since you don't know what you're talking about, good use of punctuation marks is also important, cause it helps readers understand your statement better.

       For me the central of all is the length of the post, I read a comment here that says that it is not all about the length of your post, it about its quality. Personally I find it hard to read post that are very very lengthy, no matter how it may be educational and impactful it may, the thing is that am not really attracted to those posts. I go more for post that are shorter with vocabularies that I can easily read and understand.

Well in this past few years I have been and spent in the forum I think what I have the mostly learnt it how to properly write well and also on how to start up a well good post, and speaking of making use of punctuation marks, was a well valid point about the importance of making use of punctuation mark in writing can make it very easy and significantly
It makes a big enhance also make it very clarifying to read the topic,  it is very great that you have emphasize in this aspect, especially in the context of this our online forum where clear communication is the key of understanding.

Not really making lengthy post is also know to be an valuable resource to necessary being equivalent to quality post, but I still some topic many really have to do with more of require details explanation.

I get what you're saying, but sometimes, simply going straight to the point or hitting the nail of the head can actually be kinda boring you know, especially when you're trying to make someone really understand what you're trying to say, you'll definitely need to do a lot of beating around the bush, because you'll need to give some examples, references and others things that'll make the person really understand what you're trying to say. Except you and/or your audience are actually in a hurry to just listen to what you've got to say and then maybe leave for somewhere else.

There's no point trying to make things too complex, writing on the forum is not different from writing in every other platform, just pass the information you hope to share in a reasonable and easy to understand way, that's the most important thing, every other things are just ways of packaging your writeup to give it a little bit of quality.

Too much of beating around the bush isn't worth it, too little detail doesn't also yield good result. If you're consistent enough on the forum, you will naturally post only quality content and present in the best way possible. You might not even notice how much you're improving but with time, you will certainly keep improving as you continue to post content on the forum. The highest you can do to give a touch to your writing skill on the forum is to get more information so and grow your knowledge on bitcoin so you don't write off topic. I don’t have much to say about writing, all i have to say is this if you want to improve in your writing you need to be a reader, read books make researches about writing, and start writing.

Start from writing a letter, then to writing a speech, write poems little poems three to four lines poems, just keep writing, it doesn’t matter what you wrote just write to yourself and from there you’ll improve. Procrastination is a killer don’t let it envelope you

I think all you've said is absolutely correct to extent . but in addition , for one to actually make a decent post it all depends on the individual ability to make a good research on the topic that he/she wants to contribute on.However,by making research, the individual or user most develope a habit of reading and more reading.

Clarity of purpose of the writing is very important because most times you see allot of post that you finds it difficult to grasp what the message that the poster is trying to pass so people should be concise with their messages and avoid using long messages in conveying your messages so clarity is key when writing



Factual writing is another very important thing that should be considered and always followed because most times you see post that has no factual evidence as they are just writing based on their feelings and not on actual facts that are on ground we should always do our research before writing because what ever that we put out should be confirmed

When you talk about audience.., it’s really important to know who your audience are; and be extremely careful with your tense and words you use (Lexis and structure) when posting in the English general threads. Aside from Gambling and the local boards where much attention is not paid to the English and the way it’s presented.

Be sure to check your word, tenses and whole sentences before posting. Using a proof reader will help reduce or remove  this errors.

Your punctuation mark is also added to what make your post quality nice and effective too, some folks may not make use of it but In my opinion is good to make use of your punctuation appropriately. Which may help to make your writing enjoyable when one is going through it .

But that still doesn’t guarantee that your post have good quality though you may be using the right punctuation mark and same time sending out wrong messages. So we all need all this quality to make our writing more presentable (it is the right word to use ). When creating a topic, your title is supposed to go in line with the body, while the last paragraph is meant to conclude the whole point or take a broader side of the discussion. Reading only the table and commenting isn't a reasonable way to make replies, but if the topic is very broad to read through, what should matter is the heading then the reader skips to the body or the last paragraph, this is the reason why it is always better to make our topics shorter with clear details to allow the reader to read every part and not get confused as due to some un identified mix up somewhere between the lines.
