So I have a 25 BTC cas and some smaller denoms (a 5 and some smaller bits). I really don’t want to open them as somehow it seems wrong. But it seems almost impossible to sell them in light of  the high values.

Does anyone have any suggestion? 🥴

You could try and list them at Stack & Bowers? They've sold some of Otoh's high value items as well. If you aren't in the US, your best bet is probably to peel. :/

Recently they had a stand in a coinshow in Paris, and it was possible to consign items there.

Many thanks. I did think about auction but my concern is that the commission, et cetera will exceed the numismatic  premium so that I would end up with a net out of pocket compared to redeeming 🥴

I think realistically it would have to be a private sale to an existing BTC holder so that we don’t have to deal with cash or commissions!

the 25 will be the hardest one of course due to the climbing value of Bitcoin. Happy to help with escrow and/or auctions if you decide to auction/sell any of them here on the forums.

David - Most auctions set the commission above the hammer price and it is the responsibility of the buyer to pay it. So, if you go on Stacks Bowers, the auction prices you view are without the fee that the buyer paid. Additionally, you can establish a reserve, a minimum price the seller is willing to accept. I think a reserve at BTC value is reasonable.

Obviously peeling is the easiest. These loaded items are getting more rare though.

Beware of scammers. I will never discuss the sale of Collectibles on Telegram or any other messaging client outside the forum.

Wow! very rare one! Hodling 25 BTC Casascius coin is quite significant in value.
Yes, since it is unpeeled, you could get a premium above its face value, dude. But you already got your premium value by hodling it till now, right? So, the right thing you could do for now is just peel it and surprise yourself and your family member.

My 2 cents, don't come here again to express huge emotion like JohnGalt, and don't reveal your keys whether you peel it or not. Keep your thing private always.

If you don't want to peel it anyhow, I know some auction houses like Heritage Auctions or Sotheby's that collaborate with rare collectibles, afaik they accept Bitcoin related collectibles too.

exactly... and don't forget to move all the Bitcoin forks like BCH and some other smaller ones to your wallet and don't make the same mistake as JohnGalt did a few weeks ago (but only because he published the pk...)

Peel the lower denominations or auction them.

The FIAT ultra-rich haven't arrived yet, and they'll fight over the 25 BTC.

Peeling the 25 BTC coins when you have lower denominations isn't smart.

I'd go with this, honestly. But i'd auction the lower denoms, here or at Stacks. Keep the big-gun for in a few years.

Haha I’m pretty sure I would have made the same mistake 😂. I mean who even remembers BCH? (incredible to think there was a time when we thought it might actually prevail over BTC!)

That’s a nice way to think about it

Ofc the problem is that even the “lower” denominations now raise similar issues (except maybe the 0.1’s)

1 btc auctions happen all the time, with nice premiums. From 5 and onwards things get more complicated i'd say.

If you're going to peel it, I advise you not to damage the hologram. Try cutting it like I did with my 0.1 BTC BHcoin... then you could sell it at an incredible BTC value. In fact, you could even send it to get graded, and it would be worth even more!

if you open them, you can sell them real easy, Lol.
IDK why you're making it hard, you could always do centralized means (Binance-Kraken-etc) or P2P, There's people that can give you Cash for it.

If you need Help, Contact me, i have my phone number in my profile (WhatsApp) and i'd be more than glad to help you.

lols, BCH would never, it was just meant to suck in all the BTC/Crypto holders in once place.
