In the meantime, I think its the other way round. Traditional sports brought about the interest of people in fantasy sports. If there were no love for traditional sports, fantasy sports wont exist. It becomes a reality since many people are pretty much interested in traditional sports.

For you to be interested in fantasy sports I think that there must be a certain level of interest you must have I'm traditional gambling. No one who isn't already a gambler would just go into fantasy sports, even though it doesn't deal with risking real money it has a lot to do with interest and hobby of the person

Maybe if two players bet on the game and play would feel like you are gambling. Its always the risk that  you feel like you are going to lose something that makes it feel like you need to win.

I have no idea how to play this fantasy sports but I like the idea that you as a player can choose which team and players you deploy. Its going to be a challenge since you are ware of the sports.

Fantasy sports is great for people who want to sit around all day and watch a bunch of games.  I think it works best for Football Sundays, but I also see people doing baseball fantasy gambling.  I'm not a huge fan of this, because I like betting on the outcome of games, but for someone with a bunch of favorite players that maybe doesn't care about teams and just cares about stats, it can be just what they're looking for. 

As a US citizen, it has been legal to bet on fantasy style sites for a long time, where real betting is just now becoming legal in different states.  So fantasy has definitely been pushed in my area more.

If there wasn't a traditional sport, I don't think that anyone will come up with the idea of fantasy sport because you must have the knowledge of sport you are participating in.

From my understanding, fantasy sports is gaming that can also become gambling.
It is gaming when you do not put any money on the line, and then it is gambling when money is involved, maybe you staking money with a group of people that you are going to claim at the end if you win makes it gambling.

In my own definition of gambling, it doesn't fall under the category of gambling as long as you are not risking any money, asset or property in hope of getting something added to that which was staked; it's not gambling but can be regarded as just gaming.

Since this type of gaming gives you a chance to enjoy your favourite game without spending any money, it should just be regarded as gaming. It's all for fun, and no monetary value is attached to it.

Fantasy sports are advanced computer games that give you the privilege of setting up your own team based on Real statistics of players. Fantasy sports could help traditional gamblers understand and even apply the available statistics of players on sports betting.

Know that gambling and betting are not the same. Also to answer your question, is sport a kind of betting? No but there is sport betting which are offered by bookies. Is fantasy sport bet possible? Yes.

Fantasy sports help the traditional gambling in so many ways and vice versa, because they both are interdependence of each other when we talk about sports in general, now we may not include gambling into the context because it's something else different from what we are discussing, fantasy sports helps the traditional gamblers have enough options to available sports in which they can choose from, which I see as an addition of more fun and pleasure to advanced the traditional sports we often play, in other to have a better experience.

Fantasy sports are more for a group of like minded individuals to compete against each other for potentially large prizes. Really depends on which sport and which fantasy league you join. I personally only participate in a fantasy football league with a few members here on the forum for fun.

I believe traditional sports likely influenced users to participate in fantasy as it offers a different look into sports. You're picking players in the whole league that lasts months vs traditional sports where you are betting 1 game or 1 series.

That's because it doesn't interest you that's why you ain't captivated to an an experience of what fantasy could feel like different from the traditional sports.

Just so you know, fantasy sport is quite different from the virtual sports betting games. In fantasy sport game just like the one we have in the forum with some few members engaging in it. You'll have to form your own team  by buying players from different clubs to form the team. Meanwhile in virtual sports games you don't create any team but just bet on different teams as they play on each set. I hope am able to better explain their difference.

I haven’t tried fantasy sports, IIRC. I got into sports betting because I’m a gambler, and I love sports.

What really influenced me was my interest in gambling and my passion for watching specific games or leagues. That’s why I’m still enjoying it to this day.

I am not into fantasy sports and I don't need to be into them to know and be aware they do not represent an important percentage of the whole volume of the sport-betting market worldwide. Fantasy sport could be appealing to some people whom are seeking for alternatives to their traditional sports and want to diversify their experience of betting, but there is no comparison in terms of economy and size of markets when we talk about fantasy and traditional sports.

Also, considering there are many instances in which those matches do not come with a prize in crash for the winner, one must wonder whether we should even consider fantasy sports to be some sort of gambling in the same way traditional sports are. Sure, it is possible to bet on anything at this point, thanks to technology and creativity of people, but I don't see so many people interested in this.

Fantasy sport does not take away or draw away people from traditional gambling, Fantasy sport at some point on certain platforms are even gabled on, so the participants in a contest to having a better team with more points gets a reward probably like a stake kept for the best team and the team with the highest point so the have actually ended up gambling in the traditional way at the end of the day. in a situation where the fantasy game isn't done in a contest then you get the advantage of just having fun and getting any emotional attachment to it at the end of the day and that is for me a major advantage and difference from the traditional gambling and because that avails only fun but no reward on most cases, then its mostly not going to take away people from traditional gambling that can be very rewarding on lucky days.

Traditional gambling can be very rewarding especially when considered at the professional level meanwhile Fantasy isn't and so Fantasy cannot take away peoples attention who expect to be rewarded at the end of the day as much as Fantasy which provides only fun does. Traditional gambling will always still stay ahead of the Fantasy games until a good reward scheme is added to the fantasy games.

I still don't understand the allure of fantasy sports gambling,, but I do know that people have taken to it. If I'm correct, this is you creating a team and then getting the stats per team, right? I am quite appalled with this knowing that there should be caps or anything like this. It's somewhat similar to MyTeam in 2K, right?

As long as there's money involved, it's gambling but if it's just for entertainment, it's gaming.
