What makes this distinct is the fact that you can use $Pi, a cryptocurrency to purchase this services. This may not be something so special  to some to what they’ve invented, because there are other DApps that operate the same way and are very fast and reliable also but don’t use crypto for payment.

Bitcoin is a different case from this even if they all share the same name ‘cryptocurrency’. With the decentralized nature of bitcoin that cannot be cracked by the government or anyone, it makes it very difficult to change its nature and hence the adoption becomes a bit tougher. $Pi network will be banking on its own features that makes it an adaptable token to be used by all, but they should know that without being decentralized fully, they can be limited to many things they’ll want to achieve in the future.

I can easily pay for electricity, airtime and data online but with naira. I can easily convert bitcoin and other coins to naira. I will prefer it than holding Pi which can lost 10x or more of its price during bear market. Altcoins are not also store of value.

My thoughts as well. They aren't solving any big problem by allowing people use Pi to pay for utilities. It would have been cool is Pi was a stable coin but it is not so there is a risk with holding Pi and I still believe that they haven't fully proven that they are one you can hold without any fear.
Also to those that believe in Pi strongly this is good news because it is great to see the coin that you trust can now be used to pay for services and it may also improve the adoption level of Pi in the bigger picture.

The pi network has tried for this new innovation, but the pi network is to a large extend slow and my reason for saying this is when the pi mining started, most altcoin hasn't started then. But, some came later and was more popular and were in use before the pi network. It is now the pi network is beginning, we started mining pi from a very tender Age and up until now the pi network is still struggling to gain relevance , it is very slow and they should increase their speed.

Good development for the team but this doesn't looks like good development in my end. There are plenty of merchants that offer all of this, even small companies does all of this, you just have to register and their service connect to your service and you are good to go. Airtime is even the least thing I shouldn't see there because small business do this business very well and they even give bonuses so that users can turn in but this is what PI is doing in 2025.

I don't really know what that coin is doing that is making them sit on a billion dollar valuation, the market makers are really playing their games very well, locking up supply and all of that but I still don't believe in that Ponzi scheme, the day it collapse that's going to be the end of it but I know people that has their tokens lock wouldn't believe this, they will fight you when you say anything that criticize their Lambo I guess.
