[2025] My Bitcoin Pizza Day submission 🍕

I'm sorry if I open this thread but for some reason icopress already closed the official thread despite the fact that it's still June 9 and, as per the rule (From May 13 to June 9), the competition is still ongoing but I couldn't send my submission. The only thing I can do is posting here to prove that I'm still in time because I tried to contact icopress but he didn't reply and the thread is still locked. I had just finished uploading all the pictures and I was ready to send my message when suddenly the thread was closed, I don't understand why.

This is my submission:

We always say that bitcoin will go to the moon, well, that was my main idea behind this year’s design. Theory and practice are two different things, and I admit that I had to redo the pizza because the first time it was a disaster, I wasn’t happy at all with the result.


These are all the ingredients I got:

And these are the pictures of all the different elements that will go on the pizza:

Stars (21 small, 21 big, not a random number), bitcoin symbol and flag made out of two different types of cheddar

Astronaut made using mozzarella (and a mold of course), then I used red pepper for the suit details and eggplant for the helmet visor, these parts were hand-cut:

Explosion effect recreated using three different types of peppers (yellow, orange and red) and a little white cheddar in the middle

Green pepper has been used to create the bitcoin pizza date and the closing price on that day

• 

I wanted the pizza to have a “deep space atmosphere”, so there is a little chemistry involved in the process: I used purple cauliflower to make the sauce on the left and a combination of white cauliflower and red cabbage plus baking soda and a little lemon juice to obtain the blue color for the sauce on the right. I also added some garlic to give some extra flavor (not relevant to the aesthetics, only for the palate)

I pre-baked some small details like moon craters and planet rings

This is how it looks before going into the oven with mozzarella as moon surface and the cauliflower + cabbage sauce for the background

And this is the final result: bitcoin finally conquered the moon!

To make a Saturn-like planet I used a very red Spanish salami and I baked the ring and covered it in edible gold glitter.

Making this pizza required preparing a lot of different elements, and a lot of cutting that often went wrong, but I’m pretty happy with the final result. And I must admit that the cauliflower and garlic sauce tasted better than what I expected.

Your work came in handy. I see why you still decided to share your work regardless of if the thread was closed or not. One thing i know is that, it cannot be added to the thread anymore because the last date of submission has passed. But I'll would have loved to see this pizza compete with other yummy pizzas for the price. Too bad, its late, unless Icopress reconsider.
I doubt he will. The ball is in his court since you only need to edit the previous one

It has not passed, forum time is 11:28 PM. I just checked my last year's submission and it was on June 01, 2024, 11:45:03 PM. Other users even posted after that. It closed at midnight, 11:30 PM is not midnight.

Unless otherwise specified, I guess forum time is what has to be considered.
I think it might be an innocent error by icopress due to his different time zone.
Nothing to worry about, it’s simple to repair this.

Actaully he is very correct, if you see in the thread. Icopress did not give a specific time o June 9th. Meaning any application that has not shifted into June 10 can still be accepted. So he deserve a chance.

Ale, better to relax and clean the kitchen and drink all those garlic sauces.
It’s pretty apparent when you posted your entry for the contest.
Try not to edit the post, of course, as it would make the time of the original post less obvious.
And let’s wait for icopress decision.

For Icopress to close the thread you should try find out which time he uses as the deadline, although I haven't visited the official thread but I believe he is using their local time which is not the same with the forum time. Another thing I noticed when joining a contest or whatsoever in the forum the deadline should be obeyed like one must not wait till the last day to submit most people doesn't accept that instead they preferred submit a day before the last day, with that, there are all possible chances to be accepted into the contest. I am not a spoken person for Icopress but I think that was why the thread was closed. But I believe he would come across this topic since he barely replied pm and again, I think he might be extremely busy in the real world trying to catch up other things out there, whenever he is done then I believe he will get to reply you or even makes comments here as to know why he closed the thread even before the said time.

Although, I admit that you have a fantastic designs and needed to submit them, it's very painful after spending your time making the whole thing and it happens you didn't submit it again, to me it would be as a total waste time and energy.

Yes, I'm relaxed, I just freaked out a little because I spent a lot of time and energy making the pizza (twice) and while I was preparing the post all of a sudden the thread was closed. I'm sure this is a simple case of icopress miss-reading the forum time, it happened exactly one hour before so that is the most logical explanation.

For Icopress to close the thread you should try find out which time he uses as the deadline, although I haven't visited the official thread but I believe he is using their local time which is not the same with the forum time.

Unless clearly specified every competition deadline on the forum is based on the forum's time otherwise how could we know when it ends? It could be closed at 9 AM forum time, 3 PM forum time, etc, it would be extremely confusing, don't you agree?

Yes that is true mate, so let just assumed he made a mistake on the time reading, or maybe he mistake watch from their local time and luck a topic, then while to me I was thinking I have gotten to the right time of the forum. It's always advisable to understanding few things on the forum, I believe it will be considered.

Maybe I'll say things that are taken for granted, maybe I won't. Of course there are rules as for every event, a start day and an end day.
But if no event end time is specified we must take into account that it is assumed that the end time is midnight.
The only way to keep track of the time on a forum is the one given by the forum itself because it is the same for everyone regardless of whether you live in America or Asia.
And now since a precedent is being created it would be useful for the next pizza day or other events to keep this aspect in mind and specify when an event starts and ends and especially declare which time or time zone to take into account.
That said icopress will be able to make the right decision, your work fits perfectly within the terms and conditions of the event in question. Icopress just has to add it to the voting thread

But I will tell you one thing for sure: you could have been first, twentieth, or any other; your pizza is beyond competition, so you could have easily made it at the right time. However, I believe everyone understands that excluding this creation is simply unfair, even if today was the 10th. I wish you all the best. Truly, the forum has gathered people of great talent.

But I will tell you one thing for sure: you could have been first, twentieth, or any other; your pizza is beyond competition, so you could have easily made it at the right time. However, I believe everyone understands that excluding this creation is simply unfair, even if today was the 10th. I wish you all the best. Truly, the forum has gathered people of great talent.

As a contestant, I both want and don’t want his pizza in the competition.
Of course I don’t want it, as it greatly decrease the chance of my own pizza to win.
Also, I want it, because a contest without such a beautiful creation would make an eventual winner less worth of it.
As an external person, not involved, I guess he has all the reason to be admitted into the contest, as he was compliant to the rules on every possible ways. I am 100% sure icopress will recognise it, when he comes back online.

I think we should understand that what OP is trying to point out here concerning his entry was the time, which from his explanation, he said the thread was locked prior the closing time, which I want to believe this has something to do with time zone, he might be preparing to submit before 11:59pm of the closing date, while the time zone he was using might be different from the forum time, which would have knack past 12:00 already, we should also consider the change in some of these time zones.

Am not making this post to support OP behavior in this manner, but clarifying from his side what he's trying to push out, but as others have said, icopress have the best decision to make over this, I even expected that by now he would have contacted him regarding the issue, maybe his submission could be given a chance to get in on the thread.

Well at this point I would say that icopress to avoid any problems could give a reminder, for example 2 hours before the end of the contest write a post
for example with the words "last 2 hours left, hurry up and post your creation before it's too late" so we would all have a precise closing time for the contest and no one can object anymore
It could be a good compromise, don't you think?
If OP posted his pizza before the time was actually up he should have the chance to participate, not because his pizza is a work of art but simply because He respected the terms of the competition
But it is right to wait for a response from icopress, he is a good person and will know how to make the right decision

Sent some merits for the design which is very impressive and must have taken a lot of time and effort to pull off. I hope it still gets considered for the tournament as the goal is to showcase the beautiful designs users come up with to celebrate a special day for Bitcoin. If anything, I think late submissions should be considered, but in this case, it was not late at all.

Hehe this shows you are having a double heart on his submission, this shows that you weren't confident with your pizza you made, otherwise there wouldn't had been anytime you could get scared of him submitting his entries to reduce your own chances of winning.
Maybe, who knows your God made it to happen so that you would take his position and win the contest.
Anyway, I didn't partake of the contest and next time I will create out time to get myself involved. But, to be frankly speaking the chances of Icopress getting his entries in might not be that too high because already the main threads was locked before he submitted. I think Icopress is in a better position to determine whether he gets in or not, but to me it would be very bad and painful seeing how much time invested to make the pizza picturably.

As a Merit source, I'm torn between Meriting this good post, and not Meriting it because it has nothing to do with Meta. Then again, that's up to the Mods to move, and I do like OP's design so Merit it is. I really like the design
