Investment is one strategic thing many don't know it take a lion heart of an investor to engage on such , problem of many today is not centered on income but issues, problem and challenges keep multiplying when there some sources of income , secondly the high level of comfort human seek, change towards their income make then not meeting up to identify what their discretionary income would have been towards their investment, I would show some practical instance where an income earners believe to enjoy their labour before investment who have the ability or capacity to render discretionary income worthless or useless where it can't serve the purpose
All stated plan work effective if the person is ready to take the risk and denial itself of certain pleasure and focus on what aid to yeild more fruit on its investment.
Investment requires discipline, it is not  only about having a  lion heart or  denying yourself every enjoyment. The real issue is knowing the difference between your needs, your wants, and your discretionary income.
Yes, bitcoin investment takes a lot of discipline to achieve success, the discipline is more centered on your cashflow management, your discipline to maintain sanity in every aspect of your life and not short-changing any aspects because you want to invest in bitcoin. What do I mean?... "Denying yourself of enjoyment" simply because you are investing in bitcoin is not the best approach because if you refuse to have some basic enjoyment of life, a time will come when you're out of age and unable to enjoy anything offered to you. The problem is not enjoying yourself, it's about curtailing extravagance. You can live a good life and still invest in bitcoin because you also need to be in good health to ensure the safety of your bitcoin.

If someone earns $1000 every month and after food, rent, transport and other important expenses has $200 left, that $200 can be shared between investment, savings and some personal enjoyment. But if the person increases spending simply because income increased, the money that could have been invested may disappear. So the real strategy is control your lifestyle while increasing your income, so your investment money can grow consistently.
It is human to improve your lifestyle whenever your income improves and there's nothing wrong about it. As long as you're true to your self and investing continuously, that's good. If you become too focused on denying your self of some basic life necessity simply because you are a bitcoin investor, it's not the best. It is good that you included enjoyment in the sharing of the discretionary income but you forgot to include your emergency funds and backup funds which is different from your enjoyment money and your reserved funds.

So for me, successful investing  about balance, discipline and making sure the money going into investment is money we can afford to leave there for the long term.
Perhaps, let the money you invest in bitcoin because the amount of money you can afford to lose, yes, for the sake of your peace of mind and long-term success.

No one can deny himself any basic life necessity just because he's investing in bitcion because if you use the money for your basic needs to buy bitcoin, when your needs arises, it's a must that you will sell those bitcoin to take care of your needs. What if the price is below your entry point, it means that you will sell at loss.

It's not ideal to use money that is not your discretionary income to buy bitcoin. Discretionary consumption is different from basic needs from the little I understand about this thread. Discretionary consumption is the money for what you want. It's different from your needs. This is why because you're investing in bitcion you don't need to deprive yourself all the time from stuffs like your discretionary consumption.

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to "non-custodial"

Huh?  You think that you can invest into bitcoin without any trade offs?

As soon as you invest into bitcoin, you are going to have less money that you could have had used for other purposes because you put that money in bitcoin, so perhaps you should try to present the idea with a bit more nuance rather than trying to act as if there are no trade offs, when there are trade-offs for any guys who are choosing to add bitcoin to their weekly (or whatever their timeline) spending.

There is nothing wrong with this statement - and surely, guys who are investing in bitcoin can (and probably should) try to figure out ways that they are still able to enjoy their lives even when they are ending up with less money for discretionary consumption and likely having to put more money into bitcoin and back up funds.

If someone earns $1000 every month and after food, rent, transport and other important expenses has $200 left, that $200 can be shared between investment, savings and some personal enjoyment. ok.  Sure.  Overall there is balance, and there are no problems with trying to figure out balance.. .. even though at the same time, the likely challenges of making sure to have enough discretionary income to be able to invest, save and discretionarily consume is likely going to ongoingly be a challenge for many guys, even perhaps for guys who are able to find and be successful in achieving ways to increase their discretionary income.

So for me, successful investing  about balance, discipline and making sure the money going into investment is money we can afford to leave there for the long term.
Perhaps, let the money you invest in bitcoin because the amount of money you can afford to lose, yes, for the sake of your peace of mind and long-term success.

You make it sound as if the definitions are clear, which they are not, and surely guys who are investing into bitcoin are likely ongoingly striving to figure how aggressively that they are able to be with their bitcoin investment without overdoing it and while making sure that they have enough money also going into their back up funds and also money that they fel that they need for discretionary consumption.. and surely, there sometimes can be challenges in finding ways to get enjoyment in ways that either cost less money or do not cost money.. and while at the same time to feel that you are not overly depriving yourself in your likely ongoing focus on keeping track of how much you are spending for discretionary consumption, and sometimes there might even be justifications to splurge a bit, even though those splurging situations are also not always clear, either.

1) Self-Custody is a right.  Resist being labelled as: "non-custodial" or "un-hosted."  2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized.  3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k

If you become too focused on denying your self of some basic life necessity simply because you are a bitcoin investor, it's not the best.
I have not heard anyone saying we should deny ourselves the basic things which you already pointed out as necessities, but that doesn't mean that we should be reckless in handling funds, as much as i can remember, our Bitcoin investment is financed with our discretionary income and such should not put us in any financial presure, since our basic needs are suppose to be covered before we can figure out our discretionary income.

Life necessities are important, if it is what you want to convey, but that should not be an excuse for anyone not to invest in Bitcoin, because funds for investment and basic needs are not the same.

To a large extent, basic necessities is actually a barrier or excuse for not investing In bitcoin in the sense that you need to sort the basic needs first before you can be able to figure out the discretionary income to use for buying bitcoin. The key factor to investing in bitcoin remains the discretionary income and this income is the cash left with us after we must have finished sorting out our basic needs, this simply means that anyone who’s struggling to meet up with his/her basic necessities don’t have any need to invest in bitcoin. So yea, the basic necessities could be a stumbling block and excuses for not investing in bitcoin because if your income is not enough to sort out your basic necessities then there’s no way you can be left with a discretionary income.

Some investors do make that mistake he mentioned, they might think they're doing the right thing for the investment but no cause disregarding essentials things would still make the person fall back to selling at lose to settle them. An investment like Bitcoin is a long term something but essentials are daily needs so using money meant for settling daily needs for a long term investment would definitely ruin it on the long run.

Some people don't even know that gthe discretionary funds is what's needed for investment or how to figure it out. However they'll learn with time that using money for necessities to invest in Bitcoin is never a good thing to do, every investor must know or learn how to manage their income and sort out funds meant for investment which is their discretionary fund.

Yes, people really need to understand this very well, is very important, because some may think just because they want to invest into bitcoin, every money they have, all must go into bitcoin investment, No I don’t think is better approach, some people overlook it Like is nothing. You should invest more for your future, not mean you shouldn’t enjoy your life, at least keep some cash aside to enjoy your present life and things you like. because bitcoin investment is a gradual process, if investor invest all the money into bitcoin, they may end up with nothing left for other necessary things. That approach will be definitely difficult to maintain for over a time. But what I believe is that after invest what you are comfortable with, and you are done taking care of necessary expenses, that way you can continue accumulating bitcoin while still have something left.

Folks need to understand that there’s a big difference between investing for the future and sacrificing their current financial stability for the future.
I see little to no point in accumulating bitcoin aggressively if you’re gonna eventually end up having to sell it off at a loss just to cover your basic needs, there’s no sense in doing that.

Build your Bitcoin holdings at a pace that you can easily sustain while still keeping enough money available for emergencies, necessities, and also for enjoying life.
Consistency certainly matters, but knowing your financial limits does matter too; long term investing can be sustainable without having to sacrifice present needs or financial stability.

I agree with this point that while accumulating Bitcoin. we should not ignore  our present life in such a way that the investment process becomes psychologically unsustainable. The discretionary funds that remain after basic expenses.  And this allocation  come from discretionary income of Bitcoin, backup funds and discretionary consumption comes from. Better way is to decide priorities within the entire discretionary fund . Someone may give more priority to Bitcoin , while family or social spending will be more in another time . To invest we has to sacrifice some things, but excessive sacrifice can sometimes create negative impact in long term Bitcoin accumulation. Suppose you put discretionary funds into Bitcoin for long time and  no entertainment, no comfort , no social spending. The first few months may feel disciplined, but later it may feel bad. As investing in Bitcoin has to be continued for many years, the investor mental state also needs to be stable during this period.

I think the best way to invest in bitcoin is to have an accumulation goal or a target goal in mind before taken or making any rash decisions. Having a goal will help plan more effectively, like knowing when you should be aggressive and less aggressive.

So I’ve been playing with Bitmover & JayJuanGee’s Tool, which is called JJG Bitcoin fuck you status calculator With this tool, you can set a more realistic Bitcoin accumulation goal based on your financial situation and cash flow.

Bitcoin investment is not something that should be approach carelessly . But something that should be handled more professionally, by planning effectively . The tool also come with some cool features like Dca calculator and others , so you can use it to improve your bitcoin accumulation . Remember, the goal isn’t to compete with anyone. It’s to build a Bitcoin stack that aligns with your own financial goals.

So for me, successful investing  about balance, discipline and making sure the money going into investment is money we can afford to leave there for the long term.
Perhaps, let the money you invest in bitcoin because the amount of money you can afford to lose, yes, for the sake of your peace of mind and long-term success.
You may be right on the message you want to share, but your choice of word totally contradict the point you are trying to make. You invest only using discretionary income, which is the money you have left after settling all essential needs.

Someone who earn $1000 at the end may $100 left after settling all essential needs which includes rent, food and other bills.  That 100 left is his discretionary income.  However, having $100 left doesn't mean he should invest all of it in bitcoin. He can use a percentage to buy bitcoin, keep some for emergency fund, and reserve the rest as a financial cushion.

The point is that you shouldn't treat bitcoin investment as money you must be ready to lose. The goal is to accumulate bitcoin with money you can comfortably set aside for the long term, without putting yourself under unnecessary financial pressure.

What an investor need is a long term plan, not “target”. I think giving yourself target comes with a lot of pressure to accumulate a certain amount of Bitcoin within a particular timeframe. You may end up over stretching yourself even when your income does not allow.

And what do you mean by “know when to be aggressive and less aggressive”? That part is sounding like you encouraging folks to time the market; to know when to buy more and when to reduce amount. Is that why you said they should approach Bitcoin professionally? Tbh I don't think all these things you mentioned are necessary if you want to accumulate bitcoin long term. A simple DCA plan beats all these your talk of being an expert and knowing when to be more or less aggressive.

Everything in life comes with a cost, perhaps even as we are investing in bitcoin we are likely goning to make sacrifices whether we like it or not, however we don't need to sacrifices much since what we are investing in bitcoin is our discretionary income. Even though this sacrifices are there but that doesn't mean we shouldn't manage our incomes to take care of our basic necessities and still have some left over to invest in bitcoin.  when we neglect to cover for our basic needs, we will likely sell our bitcoin to covered for those expenses. So while it is necessary to cover for our basic needs, that doesn't mean we can't have fun and still invest in bitcoin using our discretionary income.

The present must be prioritized to build future wealth. If you do not prioritize the present you may stumble in long term Bitcoin investment. Sometimes it may happen that unexpected events such as withdraw Bitcoin holdings due to urgent needs may occur. Emergency fund, discretionary income Although these elements may seem very insignificant to us at first they become very important in long term investment. Determine the pace of Bitcoin accumulation according to your current situation. If the excess money/discretionary income you have on hand increases then increase the pace of accumulation and if it ever decreases similarly slow down the pace of Bitcoin accumulation. Although with the passage of time your income will increase and you will be able to accumulate more Bitcoin. Because your goal should be long term Bitcoin accumulation and create large amount of Bitcoin portfolio. The future of your Bitcoin accumulation depends on your current financial stability.

So while it is necessary to cover for our basic needs, that doesn't mean we can't have fun and still invest in bitcoin using our discretionary income.
Guy sacrifices or no sacrifices, no one is advised to used up their funds for Bitcoin investment, our basics needs should be the first priority, then the next should be our investment, and what is needed for our Bitcoin investment is our discretionary income, so I do not see it as a big deal if we know what our discreationary income is and how to get it figured out, people must make excuses, that is what I understand, they don't beg tired of that, real and potential investors, does not play with good financial management, since they understand the importance of their Bitcoin investment, the know what to do at right time, and important their basic needs is to them, they also make sure that there Bitcoin acumulation is not joked with.

If someone has already settled their essentials then what's the need of sacrificing the reserve funds to solve same problem, is the reserve funds not the remainant of funds are settling essentials? You're right dear, one can only use the reserve fund to build up emergency and backup funds not settling essentials.

If the reserve funds should be sacrificed for essentials that means the person isn’t good at managing his income to settle different issues including essentials, emergency and money for investment without affecting each other.

I am a little confused, is the emergency fund and alternative fund created from the reserve fund? Or is the reserve fund also a backup fund like the emergency fund and alternative fund? I know that the reserve fund is also a part of the backup fund.

The money that remains after meeting the basic daily needs is discretionary money and from this discretionary money we allocate some money for investment and some part for the backup fund. We again divide the backup fund into several parts where there is a reserve fund, emergency fund and other necessary funds. The reserve fund is mainly used for car repairs, home repairs, purchasing necessary devices, improving one's skills or recreational activities. We can consider these as essential expenses, but not basic daily needs.

Essential , emergency and reserve funds have their own role to play when come to bitcoin investment. Already know that the first thing we should take care of are our essential expenses. Before focusing on emergency funds, reserve funds and investments funds , which are actually gotten from the leftover of  essential funds . Which we all refer to as discretionary money or income rather . Emergency funds mainly for handling future emergency, while A reserve fund is money you intentionally set aside for future expenses, financial stability, or anticipated needs. that’s why sometime folks use it to buy the dip .

Alternative funds is vague word what do you mean by that? Reserve funds is your backup funds that can be used for various reasons. Because it can be used for whatever stuff possible, some lot use it to buy bitcoin or for any kind of expenses. Person can even use some portion of it to add to and increase emergency funds if that is what they want, I don't think that there is a rule against that. But using reserve funds to build emergency funds from scratch can deplete it on time, which is why it is better for person to use discretionary income to build emergency funds.

Imo, the reserve funds is the money that person can even be using for various expenses before tapping from their emergency funds. After using up this funds on expenses, person can start tapping from their emergency funds especially for those expenses that are unexpected.

Regular essential expenses should be given priority first. At the same time, if those expenses sometimes have to be met from the reserve, it does not mean that it is the result of poor money management. Imagine, I am talking about a person who originally bought Bitcoin after paying rent, food and all other necessary expenses from his salary and at the same time had an emergency fund. Later, for some reason, he suddenly lost his job. Even if his income stops after losing his job, the need for rent and food will not stop. Then meeting his needs with that money from the emergency fund does not mean that his plan failed, but rather the situation he had kept the money considering has happened.

On the other hand, the case of pouring the rent money into Bitcoin after receiving his salary and paying the rent later from the reserved money is different. There, the investment amount has been determined incorrectly. If these two situations are judged in the same way, the work of emergency savings becomes unclear.
