I think a win in gambling is pretty straightforward. Most people likely consider winning walking away with more than you came with. My own definition of win in Gambling, is the ability to win a substantial amount that could be able to quit gambling entirely or the ability to win more frequently than you lose. Although everyone has their definition of gambling win and can't lie about how they feel about it. Secondly talking about why the industry grow, it is obvious that the loses of people is the win of the house or casino and that is how they grow. Someone has to lose for the other to win and vise versa others have to win for some to lose. That is how the casino is built, but the one that is more opportuned to have high percentage of win is the real winner.

I don't know but if by 4 figures you mean 1000 dollars or more up to 9999 dollars that can be something to brag about of course but I think the majority of the people would love to a minimum start of 5 figures like 10.000 dollars and up. Nowadays though considering how bad the overall economy of the world is most people would define a real win, something that for quite some countries can be a life changing event a minimum win of 100.000 dollars.

As for me though I am happy with a min of 5x my initial balance.

I think an important skill in betting would be the ability to double your deposit. That is not to chase unrealistic goals like trying to grow your bankroll 5 or 10 times. If you’ve learned how to double your deposit and withdraw your profit, then you can repeat this with any amount. In other words, if you want to win more, you just need to deposit a larger amount, double it, and withdraw. If you’ve mastered that, then congratulations you’re a successful bettor who knows how to make money from betting.

As for goals of multiplying your deposit several times, I think that approach is more suitable for small bankrolls, where you can afford to take higher risks.

If the wins small, you may difficult to accept and wants to gamble more to win more. But winning is not just about the money but win to conquer your desire in gambling so you do not lose much money. Well to me it’s simple gambling has no real value which  am sure everyone will agree on that and at times folks see it as a quick way to make money. So yeah believe it or not, losing your money in gambling doesn’t pain as much as losing the initial profit one would have gotten if they had won.​So yeah to me the benefits are excitement when you win pain when you lose and the mindset that you can win the next round. There is an endless hope for a better future in every person. This is how nature works, and each of us believes that we are different from others. You can ask yourself this question, and within you, you will hear the answer that "other people are simple and stupid, but you are special."
