The straight forward answer to the question how to keep your cryptocurrency assets safe is by storing them in your own wallet that you have full custody of, making sure that you have the wallet key's cause that is your key to owning the Wallet and the crypto asset in them eventually.


Aside from that, there is no two ways to safety of your Bitcoin, none that I know other than holding and being your own bank, never trust third party storage of your assets for whatever reason unless you ready to take the risks that comes along with such decisions.

When it comes to keeping your Bitcoin safe best way is to control it yourself by moving it off exchanges and into non custodial wallet. Think of it this way. * Store that cricket in a self custodian wallet for highily privacy and better security in accessing your wallet.

* Concious of how you engages on public discussions because you could make yourself a vulnerable or better don't say a word if you have a leaking mouth.

* Write down your seed phrase in a hardware and store in about 4 different secret places that distance must not be a neighbor. Can also store in isolated place online as alternative just in case.

I think what you mean is how to store our crypto ownership safely. If that's the case, I think what you need to do is store it safely, if you want to store it offline then the safest way for you to do is to store the passphrase on a piece of paper, then laminate it, while if you want to store it electronically, then make sure you have a specific drive/hardware to store your passphrase there, if possible do archiving with encryption, for example you can use winrar/7-zip archiver, but even so make sure you lock it on the condition that it is not easy to bruteforce (using a complicated password combination), and then the most important thing is to make sure the drive is rarely used/connected to a device that is often connected to the network, or use a secure device, such as a laptop that is rarely used and has strong security (for example using a fairly capable paid anti-virus).

So far, that's how I feel is safe enough to store crypto safely, either offline or electronically, or even when online.

There are a lot of ways on how to secure the safety of your crypto, but I think the most crucial one is not your keys, not your coins. If you don’t have the full control over your keys, or you happen to disclose it to some of your friends, believe me your crypto won’t never have the full security anymore since you don’t have the complete ownership of your funds or your coins.

My principle is, if you can keep yourself safe entirely, then there’s no reason that you can’t take full security of your crypto. Be responsible and be disciplined, that’s the only way so you won’t put your whole crypto in danger.

It depends, if you are looking for long term HODL then it's better to have a hardware wallet to store your crypto. If you are into Bitcoin, there is Electrum, if you have like day to day trades and what's not. And it is also advise not to store your crypto in a wallet that you don't have control of, like in exchanges. Because anytime they can confiscate it or worst if that exchange gets hacked, you might lose it as well. And if you are gong to write your private key or mnemonic phrase, you should secure where you are going to place it. Only put it in places that you know. Others have a practice to have a safety deposit box in a bank, or if you can afford one, then buy it and then install in at your home.

Holding Bitcoin is not complex, you don't need all the knowledge about it's technicalities, it is safe in the Blockchain, where you need to worry about safety is on your wallet. It is advisable not to store your Bitcoin in an exchange, if it's not your keys it's not your coins they can be hacked or go bankrupt, it is better to leave them in a none custodial wallet where only you have the keys. If you are capable to make into a crypto space I guess you are capable to secure your assets through having a cold wallet which you can only commit a transaction with your hardware wallet, now if you don't have still a budget having a safety occurrence with your device is a must such as a good AV that offers a good layer of security this will be prevent you to access suspicious websites such as scams and phishing also to avoid make a direct attack with your currently device. OP, one way to make sure your cricket crypto is safe is to learn to double-check. Your mistake in writing this post could have cost you big time, your entire Bitcoin savings even, if these were a Bitcoin-related transaction.

Don't be careless and negligent. Learn to verify, double-check, do research and due diligence, and so on. When making a transaction, for example, double or even triple-check the amount and address. Bitcoin is irreversible. When downloading a wallet, triple-check that it's the official version. When clicking on a link, make sure it isn't malicious.
