Consider this a patch of information on thread concerning Bitcoin security and privacy. I had a thought concerning wallet address mostly used to receive payment from personal deals and our respective signature campaigns, since we apply publicly and mostly use them also in contest section, all our assets can be tracked when searched through explorers.

Wallets made public creates attention to scammers, since they can be able to track our movement of funds, it is unfit to serve as where we use to store our Bitcoin holdings, certain risks can be attracted E.g Dust attack.

It would be better to create new addresses for different transactions. Your signature campaign address should be different from the one you use for contest. All can come from the same seed phase so you don't need to store many keys.  Then, have another wallet with different seed phase completely offline to store your long term holdings and monitor it using a watch only wallet while it's completely offline so the risk of getting attacked by scammers would be reduced to some extent.

It is most important to have a separate wallet for long-term holding. The wallet used in signature campaigns or various competitions is suitable for money transactions, not for holding. We should know this as a basic knowledge of using a wallet. You can use ninjastic.space to get proof of this.



It is very difficult to track transactions using an address or see how much money is in that address. In that case, storing money in an address used in signature campaigns or various competitions or doing long-term holding is absolutely wrong and you may be inviting scammers or hackers. So use a separate wallet for investment or long-term holding and try to keep it offline. Even hide the address so that no one can track it.

I meant having different address for different purposes... You could have an address solely for campaign, but generate another address for another transaction different from campaign

For someone that is holding, yes, that's the right thing to do, although some people stay a long time without spending a penny from their signature payment and it doesn't affect their asset because they must have created the wallet with a secure method and might not put the wallet online until they are ready to withdraw out all the coins in it. Regardless, there's always need to have two type of wallet, which is your hot wallet and cold wallet.

You wallet address does not contain your personal information, so even if person dey enter your wallet address in a block explorer, they can see your assets, but they do not know who owns it. That said, if this thing dey worry you, na to use mixer take mix your assets and then send am go fresh address wey you never use before.

First of all, our wallet address does not contain any personal information about us. And no one can track our holdings by tracking the address. They can only guess. There is no need to worry about the problem you are worried about. Because they do not repeatedly commit fraud in small amounts. They track large amounts at once.

Wallets cannot be decentralized, either na custodial or non-custodial wallet, and all these talk of private and public wallet dey sound funny, lol, though i understand wetin una dey try talk.

If person know you for forum, still know you for real life, then dem fit know some of the assets wey you get through the addresses you post in the forum. If that one dey worry you, then when you accumulate in your address, you fit use mixer take send your assets to wallet address wey you never post for forum. If that one no dey enough, then you should prolly have kept your forum account and personal info separate.
