My humble opinion and advice to our new merit source

I de very happy say we don get additional merit sources for our local board and e show say we de move forward. My deepest regards to our oga merit sources @Igebotz, and @Cryptopreneuerbrainboss, una impacts de show. I just want to give a humble advice to di new merit sources and abeg if wetin I go talk no make sense make una troway am but make una still accept me as one of una own. I de reason say e for de better if our merit source dem get merit thread, so that posters for di local board go de apply for merit considerations maybe once in a month or as dem want am. Dem fit to get specific days of di month wey interested applicants go de apply and dem go Lock di thread till another date to open am again. Di aim na to avoid multiple submissions by applicants. E go help di merit source dem to concentrate on one thread and see more posts to consider for merit. E no go de easy for our merit sources to de go through di whole posts for di board to de find quality posts wey deserve dem merit. I might be wrong but dem attention fit to de focused on some perticular members wey dem believe say dem de meet up their quality requirements.

The merit sources fit to get dem different merit threads or dem fit to decide to get only one thread where dem go de consider posts for merit. If dem fit to consider dis my small advice more people go de get merit and everybody wey try and post quality content go get hope say if im submit am say chances de say im go get merit. Frankly I de see posts wey I believe say dem de quality and merit worthy but no merit de gum dem and I believe say if nobody get to give dem our merit sources suppose to give dem from their source, maybe other members fit to share dis my opinion too. Merit thread no go stop dem to merit posts wey dem see say e deserve merit but di merit thread go help for even distributions on every deserving posts wey applicants submit. How una see am?

I support your motion as for them to have a general place where people will be submitting their quality post to reduce that stress for them, sincerely almost all the new merits sources are in a campaign and they could be focusing to meet their targets whereby they won't be that active here to Read across and give merits to people. Actually I have seen couples of them being active such as Charles-Tim and SmartGold and from their history today it shows that they also read things but if they could decide to create this thread or topic you suggested then it would be very fine for us to also ease their stress as well.

Sense dey this talk you drop oh and I feel say e go follow make their work easy but e get wetin you need understand say this suggestion as e get e advantage, e also get e disadvantage because this go just be avenue for merit farmers to take grow their accounts. I know las las nah the merit sources go decide which posts them go merit but I get the feeling say e go encourage spammers and shit posters to come full.

All the same, e no be bad thing to get a particular thread wey these merit activity go on but for now wey we never know how many of the newly minted merit sources wey dem allocate come this we zone, nah to leave the mata for the hands of the sources.

That kind idea for for me dey gud too as our people dey talk say na person wey carry load for head know the weight all our merit source I believe if the weight of going through post as too many activities is engaged with them I for say make Dem take dis one help their load and also help people wey they make good post.

This is not a bad advice at all, but all the new merit sources na seasoned forum members so they go dey aware of merit threads and go don already plan if they want create one or not.

Some merit sources prefer to have a thread to rate posts and some others prefer to find posts to merit themselves. They should decide which one they want to do.

Theymos allocated me 50 smerits monthly, I used it in just 4 days despite that I mostly sent 1 merit to each user but depending on the post and how active the user is. With the limited smerits, I can not send merit to all the quality posts that I see.

Recently I don the see different topics as  it concern merit distribution mata, but I the try my very best to avoid dropping my opinion because this issue of merits no be anything way suppose raise dust for the LB community if both those on the left and those on the right are playing their cards right.

Funny how other LB things the go on there smoothly as it should even for those local boards way our engagement rating high well well pass them for the forum. But here we are running in circles. Funny!

Normally the new merits source have been actively distributing merits to members of the local boards through mediums like what you've outlined, either through creating a thread for accessing quality post on going through threads to merit quality posters, it's going to still serve same purpose of encouraging quality posters on the forum.

One advantage of going through threads organically before meriting it us that it helps the merit source to also fllow along with local board discussion. Imagine the merit source mostly access quality post through the link submitted on a set aside thread, they might just go straight to submitted thread, check if it's of quality and either merit or or leave it that way. Other post that are merit worthy but aren't submitted on such thread might end up not getting Thier expected merit.

Good thing about is that we have more merit source and regardless of the method they choose to adopt, it's going to still be for the good of the local board and the forum in general.

If d new merit sources will tak dis advise from u it will mak them to spend their merits well on d naija local board to boost quality post, because other strangers merit sources has done d Same tin in d naija local board to created thread for merit before adm added 2 merit sources to naija local board. Even CryptopreneurBrainboss and Igebotz did  d same tin to created thread for merit with rules to encourage quality post before dey got tired or lack merits to supply d thread. Hope those new merit sources  will embrace dis your advise to mak d merits go round d naija local board to develop d forum more.

I agree to watin you done talk, e go really dey better if them go actually consider watin you talk, but I believe say if majority of us agree to this, the local board merit source too go also agree to am.

I like the idea say nah on a particular date then go open the thread and after that day then lock am, then open am that particular date for the other month to avoid spam (if them go gree).

Your idea is a welcome one because doing so will even reduce the burden of the merit source as it will make them to concentrate on the thread that will be open solely for the purpose of Meriting quality post so I am in support of your idea this move can even help the lower ranked members to rank up easily through the Merits that they will get as a result of the post that will be submitted either monthly or anytime the merit source will call for submission of quality thread

It makes alot of sense and if our merit sources fit consider the advise because e go make work very easy for them but another thing na besay I believe we for still give them some time to adjust and make their own decisions too as to how them go take distribute their merits because a lot of these persons get different perspectives to how a quality post should look like do make we seff still give them some time to take understand this new responsibility wey dem just carry so, maybe after a month time, then them go don see how and wattin fit make the task a lot more easier for everybody.

No be lie shah, sources go Dey limited via say, thinks to test run how una go do with am, pending when the need for an increase go be. I sure say even before sources been Dey allocated, the desire to merit certain posts been already Dey, even without having to create a thread. So, the allocations na just an avenue to make that desire come alive.

One thing way Dey there to know be say, you no need to be merit source to even run a merit thread. Back in the days, just anybody fit get thread. After all, you go merit the way e please you and people too Dey put eye run am. Personally, I no feel say e Dey needed but, e no Dey up to me shah.

Something to note however be say, sources no need tray themselves you know. One source don plant merit on one post, na so other sources go follow suit. Spread am on other posts way Dey of quality, na like that go make sense.

This doesn't even count as a reason. I can see almost everything happening on the board so creating a thread is not necessary for me if I find it needed in the future (which I don't think will happen ) then fine. There are a lot of posts but only a few have quality you can tell that by how valuable your posts are off the LB.
Anytime I find a proper post I'll merit. I'm almost out of smerits though.

With the limited smerits, I can not send merit to all the quality posts that I see.

Theymos may give us a raise soon but you can always contact me if you find any post merit worthy but not having any.. but I doubt if it will since I don't skip a proper post so long I have smerits.

I've sent in more than 197 merits in the last few days to more than 30+ active posters so yeah, so merit circulation is on the right track.

I think we're disturbing and sinking important topics with the recent "merits", "post quality" related topics right.

I've received multiple requests from non- Nigerians who want to come and join us ( they didn't need my permission) but they requested and I granted them. Welcome them when you see them.

Non- Nigerian merit source are already moving out following the recent merit source addition- the board now generate around 1000 Smerits/ month. We didn't have half of this amount last month. Quite improvement. 

Everyone should focus on improving the community - we don't want to known as the community for ranking up spammers or distributing merits to low quality posts.

Merit related topics: 20 posts in less than 20 mins.

Bitcoin/ technical related topics: 7 posts in 1 week.

Merit source sees everything, they're not the problem.

One thing wey me I don understand for dis merit thing be say everything make sense to you to merit fit no make sense to someone else, so na who get merit know wetin go fit make am give out.

Another thing I dey think be say make the sources no dey wait make person write like professor or one kind big expert before them go give am merit.

If the person dey make sense at all, give am least one make em take see road. E go motivate the members of the LB to do more. For the new merit sources with limited allocation, make Una dey share am small small, make e fit reach more people at least until Theymos increase Una allocation.

In regards to this opinion given above, I could say it's literally not a bad one at all to help the easy flow of merit reach everybody, since they have got limited merit allocation at the moment. But however, I'm in no position to tell them what to do, since eh get this popular statement wey them dey always talk for this forum "say merit source get the right to distribute his/her merit whatever way they like". So on that note, I go try talk say in whatever format they wan use, make they try as much to let their distribution go a long way.
