You forget to mentioned doctors in your most profitable courses of study, but one fact about life and wealth is that, the ability to manage is what make someone stand out in whatever they do, I have seen a lot of educated fork's that studied good course infact computer science for that matter, but uptil now, nothing have really changed in terms of financial abilities, he still dependant and with no job are marketable computers skills, so course of study may play a role but not so important role.

Exactly. Going to university doesn’t guarantee richness. We have many people who didn’t reach the university level of education, and they are wealthy. I feel like education is just important and can make things easier for someone to some extent, and also, as you said, a way or stepping stone to richness, which is right; some people do not go to school, and they are rich, and at the same time, some people go to school and still are poor. I feel like the world now needs someone to do what you think will work for you, but remember education is important.

Law degree in my opinion is a good degree to have, you can easily get big money if you do good enough.
As for computer science, haven't you heard tech winter? so many people getting lay off, the big company aren't hiring because they already finished building things.

If you specialized in AI however, you might land 300-500k a year job. It's just depends on what skills the market demands.

If we are talking about a long-term benefits, being a doctor is indeed profitable.  Along side of it are lawyers, financial advisers, entrepreneur, but wait, come to think of it, every profession is profitable, even learning agricuture can bring wealth to a person.  What needed is to be in the right place at a right time.

Many graduates today are pursuing things that are somehow mediocre, they try to fit in a circle where they are square in nature.  So what needed is to find the right career and company to bloom.

It is also not wrong to check other countries' job demand reports, especially if you have the intention to migrate to such locations. The job demand documents of the US, UK, EU countries, and Canada are popular in my country because many citizens want to move there for greener pastures.

Also, it depends on how you will strategize to get a job after you graduated. Most of the time, you will get a job not aligned to your field of study. And if you venture into a business, much better to equip yourself with knowledge related to the business you are dealing with. Because if you will just work from 9-5 job, I don't think you can easily reach your targets.
So whatever program you graduated, for me, it won't dictate your future. It is your resilience and hard work that will give you more fighting chance in this life. There may be programs that are of advantage in the competition, but if it is not your forte, you won't excel on that field. So better explore your field of expertise and do it with your passion. In time, you will reap your rewards.

The employee mentality and the businessman mentality will be different in their approach to education. I no longer think of changing my own direction after all my degrees - but something about the future of my children is my responsibility now.

I will not really expect my child to be a permanent employee somewhere that gives him a monthly salary without a big hope of becoming rich from it - but I will try to change it in my own way so that they can get the best. The role of parents is to educate and direct them to be useful and productive - not just to be employees.

We do not need more of such dangerous, greedy, incompetent "doctors" in this world. We need doctors who have a passion for learning medicine and saving lives.

Medicine is not as expensive as you painted it, my friend, a little money added to an average program will hand you that certificate in most countries. Besides, have you thought of a scholarship? If you are brilliant and seek for scholarship to study medicine, the chance of you being sponsored is high.

20 years to study medicine? Which country is that? 6-7 years is enough to study medicine, others will be paid-practical training, so you have nothing to lose as you are already earning. So long as it's what you want with your life, why not? Lets start with which area of medicine you are talking about? Within 6-7 years who you will be? In our European country its a nurse (study + practice for which you will earn minimum wage). There are not scholarship or there is something like 2-5 places among 150 students. Can someone become rich by working as a nurse?

You are making me laugh here, bro, as if we do not have medical friends in Europe or have access to information online, and again, you don't use Europe to judge for all countries. For starters, if you hear Medicine as a course, it is what produces medical doctors in different sectors, and not nurses. Nurses study nursing, and their roles are clearly different.

In that understanding, I am referring to medical doctors, their study won't take more than the average of 6-7 years in all countries, including Europe (in a university as an undergraduate). Perhaps you included the time they will become a certified doctor, if you do, then you are mistaken about the context from the beginning, as it's limited to when they graduate from the university until they start earning, even if it is 1 cent. Their pay may not be as huge as that of a certified doctor for a while, but earning is earning, and this pay increases as the training and experience increase.

As for the scholarship, it was never a basis here, it's just a suggestion for those who are less privileged financially.

Not only a person has to study for many years and pay a lot of money for education, but to become rich «from being a doctor» its close to impossible imo. Only dentists or surgeons receive a lot and only when they have own clinics, have chances to be rich. I dont know from which country you are, but in our country or often in Europe, doctors go on a strike because they dont receive enough, because they have to work extra hours to receive same salary other professions receive by working 40h/week.

But one thing is that a truck driver will always be a driver and will work for life. Meanwhile, office workers with education and degrees just need to work hard, accumulate experience and improve their skills. They will have the opportunity to advance in their career to become department heads or directors with many times higher incomes. Or not stopping there, those with greater ambitions can take advantage of their position, qualifications and relationships from their old company to start a business and become their own boss.

I agree that education and degrees are not the only path to wealth. But in my opinion, people who only have skills and look down on degrees, and think they can make a lot of money, are just short-sighted.
