The effect of spot bitcoin ETF has being a reflection of hat the market is today and prior this time, because it caused series of reactions in which the market responded to, one of which was what spike the l time high seen previously as we had it coming more earlier than expected, as a post halving effect on the market price, after the ETF adoption, the market went on bullrun and this catapulted for all time high then.

Then to talk about the present, we also have an increasing  number of bitcoin adoption and use for national reserve because of the multi dimensional ways bitcoin has been found more applicable for the smooth running of an economy in a decentralized network.

OTC is their favorite place to accumulate bitcoin but with more and more demands from Bitcoin Spot ETFs as well as other institutional investors, they will have to buy bitcoins from Spot market too. Firstly there is a delay between when ETF inflows/buys occur and when actual Bitcoin is acquired on market (same principle with sells) and these institutions can buy up very quickly to create a surplus or sell quickly to create a deficit, depending on what ETF buyers and sellers are doing generally. The effect is inaccuracy of the market, in comparison to everyone buying on spot markets. The other trade-off is custody. A buyer using the spot market can store in their own self-custody wallet safely, while an ETF buyer is not just trusting that the paper Bitcoin they own is backed by real Bitcoin, they are trusting Blackrock/the institution providing the ETF to store it safely for them.

I am in favor of using non-custodial wallets because we have full control over our bitcoins but that doesn't mean investing through bitcoin ETFs is unsafe. If you look at the money flowing into bitcoin through ETFs as well as the amount of bitcoin these funds hold, you will see that hundreds of millions of dollars a day and billions of dollars are flowing into bitcoin. I don't think rich people who are spending billions of dollars don't know what they are doing, where their money is and whether it is safe...

So in my opinion, Bitcoin ETF is safe and people who are not confident or do not want to hold bitcoin themselves can invest through ETF.

You and I and many among us here may be different. Others could also be different. It may be unsafe for one to trust a multibillion dollar company that has a long track record, but it could also be equally unsafe, perhaps even more unsafe, for a clumsy, irresponsible, negligent, unconfident, lazy, and careless person to act as his/her own bank. The latter might have the double risk. It's like banks. We don't completely trust them, but can we trust our room for a significant amount of cash? Again, it's an alternative for a certain market.

I can only tell you that price depends on the supply demand ratio. If institutions are buying bitcoin the price will rise and if they are selling the price will fall. There are so many big companies buying bitcoin that huge dumps are quickly corrected.

However you might be taking a wrong step if you are buying ETF and not the real thing. With real bitcoin you have it at your disposal to spend - full control over your assets.

This is not the case with ETF. Also buying bitcoin is way easier than buying just the ETF. However your needs might be different, so pick your choice as your needs are.

The adoption by world giant public companies such as Blackrock through its Bitcoin ETF always has a quite positive impact on market sentiment. Because with the entry of larger institutions it is hoped that bitcoin will be better known and there will also be more people accumulating bitcoin. Even Blackrock itself, through its bitcoin ETF, has now accumulated a very large number of bitcoins, even surpassing that of the public company Microstrategy.

The number of bitcoins currently owned by iShares Bitcoin Trust (Blackrock) is 683,017.5 Bitcoins. With their last purchase this month, namely June 18 2025, amounting to 2,680.7 bitcoins. Blackrock has a very high speed of bitcoin accumulation.

By signing contracts with Coinbase as custodians of their customers' bitcoins, it makes risk to their customers if anything wrong happens with Coinbase. Any institutional investors who already chose or are considering to invest through Bitcoin Spot ETFs and mandatory trust on Coinbase must know about this fact and this risk. They have to trust Bitcoin Spot ETF companies and also Coinbase.

Institutional investors in Bitcoin contributed to the increase in the price of Bitcoin from last year. As they accumulate the market reacts positively in some cases. Since Bitcoin has no central authority,  it will be difficult to see any organisation promoting Bitcoin without any ulterior motives. They might use Bitcoin to attract investors or customers to their platforms.  Although these adverts might not be proper since they encourage people to use centralized platforms.  But they are also indirectly promoting Bitcoin awareness and adoption.  Some people might never have known about Bitcoin without Spot Bitcoin ETF.

The question about the duration of the plans of these Institutional investors can only be answered by the company's representatives. Nobody knows how these films will react during the bear market. Maybe checking these institutions investment plans might be helpful in determining how long they intend to hodl their Bitcoins.
