For anyone not familiar with Jetking they are an Indian company and they are taking bitcoin seriously.
So according to this tweet https://x.com/sidbharwani/status/1935010355639627838?s=46 Jetking holds around $6 million in real estate asset and they have listed everything for sale to purchase bitcoin.

That is a very bold step and we must have heard that real estate is a safe investment but with moves like this there is something we need to look into before making real estate our opinion.

You can read from the tweet that they made only 0.65% ROi on a property of over 20 years. Bitcoin is not even up to 20 years now imagine if one has made that investment on bitcoin.

How the Jetking move relates to Nigerians
Jetking is a company with wealth of experience so they won’t make a move if they never sleep over am. Inflation is a problem in India but an even bigger problem in Nigeria and has caused investment to be worthless over time.
I remember a property I bought for 200k naira early 2010’s only gave me around 1.5 million last year, which is even probably lower than, equals to or slightly higher than what I bought it comparing the purchasing power of 200k then to the purchasing power of 1.5 million now.

Yes you can say it depends on where you bought the property but as an average Nigerian you buy according to your budget but still the inflation and naira way Dey lose value fast Dey make investments worthless regardless of the location you buy the property.

Also another problem with real estate in Nigeria is how much easy it is for government to take over ones property. You may think it’s not true but I have a friend who lost his property even with C of O to the government and received a minor compensation. The matter is in court but it is now even costing him more money.

Real estate na better venture (e go even better to buy am for place with stable economy and currency) but while you buy properties don’t go all in on it. Also buy bitcoin as well, the world is shifting fast to digital technology.

No be lie you talk, real estate na some of the most profitable investments around the globe. Ask McDonalds, they’ve seen those first hands. This is the part of their story that explains their reasoning. If you only gain 0.65% over 20 years then the environment is not very favourable for that investment and they are right to consider alternatives. I do not support going all in on one investment,but I will advice they diversify into different industries. But they are seasoned investors and should have done their homework.

In relation to real estate, my advice will be to not jump blindly into it cause others are doing so or recommend it. Do your proper research and determine if that's what you want to do.

The environment is a tangible reason for them to go for an alternative but they were more opened to their reasons and I will say that inflation na their biggest reason for selling off and going for bitcoin but I no go advice anyone to sell off their real estate investments completely.

Wow, am just surprised that someone will be talking such a decision,. Though this is a welcome development to Bitcoin and it community, but it's an unwise thing to do to be selling a landed property to acquire Bitcoin, if  they were selling off gold or any depreciating assets, it would have been a lot more logical, not landed property that is full of potential and is 95% certain that even if their are losses, it would be very minimal, though everyone is entitled to their own opinion but this is a decision I will never take as an individual no matter what.

I don't think you are very right. Bitcoin investment is a good investment but that doesn't make real Estate a bad one. Real estate investment is as assured as bitcoin investment. The rate of property price increase when it comes to landed properties is not what anyone would rule out completely.

I guess that someone who sells a real estate to invest in bitcoin might have planned going into bitcoin trading which is also a gambling and a two way thing. Anyone who plans a long-term bitcoin investment of 4 to 10 years won't sell his real estate as long as he still has a basic income from where he could accumulate gradually. So also, a real estate owner in 10 years time could have a huge increment added. So why sell of real estate when you can also accumulate by DCA over the years and still have a huge amount of bitcoin in 4 to 10 years time.

Whichever way, if selling off your real estate is to use it for bitcoin trading, it's also a one way traffic where you must survive or perish if it fails.

Actually that is what is happening, no one is going into where you kept your funds and making any purchase for you. 0.65% ROI after 20 years of investment is a poor investment to me. I don’t think other real estates have been operating this way or they would have crumbled by now. I know realtors give good offers when they’re advertising their houses for rents or for sell, but that should not make them lose focus on what they tend to achieve in some projected years of investment or it’ll make them lose interest in the investment. Even with such ROI after 20 years of investment, it can make one want to opt out of the real estate investment and take bitcoin investment more seriously. Real Estate is not a bad investment, they didn’t have a good plan and their financial strategy was poor and hence they failed in their own part in this investment.

If your property has loss value over the years from the time you’ve bought it, then that location is not worth the price you must have bought it with earlier or you’re been scammed into buying at an even higher price even when the price hasn’t gotten to that amount yet. Inflation do affect your properties, but you have to still value your property when selling as to an even higher value of what you bought it several years ago. If real estate investors don’t do like that, they’ll be at a big loss their investments.

It is very hard to fight the government of this country while fighting for your right and win. You need to have backings from human rights or some top human right activist to make that happen. Even at that, there is no guarantee you can win in the end because the government still has the ultimate power. It is very true that even with your Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) you’re not safe because that’s what is still affecting many people in the country’s capital when development reaches where they already developed without a proper planing as to how the government wanted the place to be or they have interest in developing something there. Jetking now knows the importance of Bitcoin and that is why they are selling off their real estate to buy Bitcoin because they know that Bitcoin is not going to remain where it is and it is increasing in price since their investment has not giving them enough profit as expected for the past twenty years, imagine it is Bitcoin they had invested on since five years ago, they know how much the company would have realize from it, %0.65 for twenty years does not worth it.

This is really a bold move and decision that this company is trying to make because I will call this a strategic Bitcoin acquisition knowing well that Bitcoin is one assets that has been on the rise so early investment on Bitcoin is something that will be good but I don't think that selling off their investments in real estate to acquire Bitcoin is a wise one



One thing about investment is that diversification is very important real estate is one area that also brings value on investment so in will nit completely agree with the position of this company what they will have done is a DCA investment where they will be acquiring Bitcoin in small amount over a period of time if they don't have the cash to do that instead of selling off their real estate investment to acquire Bitcoin
