How relevant is this forum to the survival of Bitcoin because thinking about it this is a good forum where everyone with an interest in Bitcoin gathers to actually learn and interact but what if something happens and the forum shuts down tomorrow suddenly, will that instill fear in the hearts of investors who are also members of this forum? I'd like everyone to answer from a sincere point of view because I believe the answer is personal. Will it be your indication that bitcoin has failed if this forum shuts down tomorrow?

This forum is a centralized entity, controlled by someone or a few and hosted via a platform means it is possible to shut it down if they wanted to unlike bitcoin which is not centralized neither controlled by one or a few makes it impossible to control no matter what. And it may create a fear factor to an extent but it's not going to affect the operation of bitcoin in any possible way, only effect will be on prices if media make it as something sensational.

And also not much of discussions happening here related to technical development of bitcoin in these days so it won't be a huge loss even though it may bring some downside.

I don't think Bitcoin will fail if this forum is closed tomorrow. Because those who have already learned about Bitcoin and have tasted Bitcoin properly will never want to leave Bitcoin, whether the forum exists or not. However, the progress of Bitcoin may slow down a bit. Because it is the best place for beginners to learn about Bitcoin and Bitcoin investment. Even for experienced people, it is the best place to be active with Bitcoin. So we will be able to realize some of its impact if the forum is closed, but it is wrong to say that Bitcoin will fail.

While it will be difficult for the forum to shut down, it really does not affect bitcoin directly..
 Bitcoin will continue to remain bitcoin wether the forum exist or not as it's survival is not in any way dependent on the activeness if the forum...
   However the downside is that there are not plenty of forums readily available to really educate people much and comprehensively about bitcoin as the forum does.. so much of the information that is supposed to get out there may not be readily available anymore...
   Overall, bitcoin still stands outside of the Forum

Zero relevance at this point as btc is already an institutional level asset now. If this forum goes down, do you think Michael Saylor will care? He won’t. He will keep buying btc and the other companies will follow. The forum is not doing great lately anyway. It is already nearly dead. It used to be one of the greatest internet websites, attracting hundreds of thousands of daily visitors. They are mostly gone now. Btc though, btc kept getting better and bigger unlike this forum and it will keep getting bigger and better.

Satoshi’s posts are already archived in many archive websites so no worries there. His wisdom will be with us no matter what happens to this forum.

I don’t think this forum has that impact you may think with Bitcoin. Most of the forum members knows exactly what Bitcoin is, and we all know the exact aim of this forum which you have said as a forum where Bitcoin lovers come together to discuss Bitcoin and crypto but we all know that with or without this forum, Bitcoin will be there, therefore, I don’t think know this forum shutdown as you are saying will have effect to some of the investors here. There is no room for such panic and I am sure we will find another means to keep sharing the good news about Bitcoin.

Theymos can shut down the forum, so if you think bitcoin would go extinct if there was no bitcointalk anymore, then you are indirectly saying Theymos hodls the power to shut down bitcoin, see how silly that sounds right.

This forum definitely contributes a lot to the community, so if there is no bitcointalk anymore, we'd lose a lot of useful and important educational posts about bitcoin, many newbies will also get scammed because they wouldn't be able to ask questions when they need help, i know there is reddit, but here is better. There are also other things that'll be missed, but the survival of bitcoin is definitely not hinged on it.

It’s a straight up answer the forum has actually lived it means which was to help propagate a bitcoin adoption, in the early stages of bitcoin when it wasn’t discussed everywhere this question would have had different opinions but right now with the current adoption rate and how bitcoin has come, the shutdown of this forum or any other platform wouldn’t have any impact on bitcoin. The forum shares information about bitcoin although it is the easiest play that newbies can get quality information from but there are other places too where bitcoin information can be gotten, from forums to even social medias, just that informations aren’t filtered as much as here.

Satoshi has been off for years now and still bitcoin is moving smooth, this is how decentralized it is

No stress... The bitcointalk platform is just like the every other platforms that discusses about Bitcoin and related cryptocurrencies topics.
That likely to say that the validation and reliability of Bitcoin itself is not pegged on this platform neither every other platforms.

So when this forum shutdown, Bitcoin will always remain what it is with it secured Blockchain and enthusiasts can always fix their selves on any form of communities. That if really it is necessary if not for speculation sake and how beginner can earn good education about Bitcoin

I would probably say that the forum and bitcoin have existed independently of each other for quite a long time. Although, at the very beginning, they were closely interconnected.

To use bitcoin, don't need a forum, and to be a forum user, don't need bitcoin (in your wallet). The first is optional for the second (and vice versa).

I don' think that the closure of the forum will change the views of bitcoin for forum users. The closure of the forum does NOT equal "death of bitcoin". But if the opposite happens, the forum will not be able to exist without a functioning bitcoin. How can talk about something that doesn't exist as a subject for discussion (bitcoin talk)?

No, not at all.

To be honest, it seems to me that bitcoin has already "failed". Let me explain. Bitcoin was created as electronic digital money for payments between people, but at the moment this function is used very little, because the main role that bitcoin currently plays is an investment instrument. Also, I don't think that bitcoin will allow (and it is unlikely that people will want) to "return to the roots" as a p2p payment method (mass).

Nah! Nothing of such fear will happen. If this scenario you painted had happened a decade ago, there could be fear and panic but not anymore now. The Bitcoin community has grown bigger than a single forum could panic it. There are whales who don't even know a forum like this exists. To whales like that, they will keep hodling and buying more. Their action will straighten up anyone from this forum who may be fearful as a result of the hypothetical situation you painted.

Have you noticed that even threats of Chinese ban of Bitcoin doesn't sound like news anymore? If such news from China that caused pandemonium in 2017 can be treated as child's play now; it simply means Bitcoin has grown larger than life now.

This is just a forum for discussion and interaction with people who are into Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. It will interest you to know that there are people in this forum who ONLY come to learn some investment ideas from knowledgeable investors in the forum and not basically because of any financial benefits they will gain. This is just a forum, nothing will happen to the forum, it is almost 16 years since the forum was established and it still stood strong so I believe it will remain thus, except a new administration will enter and change things that will probably affect the forum. But with a strong admin like Theymos, I doubt the forum will shutdown but if peradventure it does, it won't affect Bitcoin and people can still move to other Bitcoin forums and continue.

This forum barely has 50K active users at one time, and the total number of crypto users in the world is estimated to be above 550 million. So, the space is too wide for it to get affected by a forum with only a small percentage of the total population using cryptocurrencies in the world right now. It's true that this is the place where Bitcoin was born, and legends such as Satoshi himself has been here, so it might have a small effect, but on the bigger picture, other than the members of this forum, the market wouldn't see much of a difference because of it.

There is no doubt that this forum is an epitome of knowledge about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, and many people come here only to learn about these things more, discuss with people, ask questions, and have their doubts cleared, but you shouldn't be surprised to know that a larger percentage goes either to Google or another platform to find the answers to their questions, mostly because they don't know about this forum, or don't understand much when they come here since everything is in texts only.

bitcoin has grown beyond this forum but from the early stage of bitcoin this community was so important that it has a great impact on the progress of bitcoin to where it is.

Even though bitcoin has gained more ground beyond Bitcointalk if this community is no where to be found tomorrow it will greatly affect bitcoin but doesn't mean bitcoin will not do well anymore.

FYI, this community is rarely going to be under attacks that will try to wipe the community out because Theymos and others are working so hard to protect the community.

We seems to be the people that make decisions for bitcoin next update or things most come from here some from GitHub where vote is conducted and if the community doesn't exist any more it will affect bitcoin for sure but have it in mind that it's not ending bitcoin.

I think this forum is impossible to close, because we know that this forum is like an active community in various discussions, sharing endless new information (we know that every time there are so many useful things that can be discussed), which is mutually beneficial for anyone, including newbies like you, and you should know that this forum is like a very sturdy big ship, so I don't see that this forum has no indication of closing as you imagine. In addition, Bitcoin itself is already an institutional and even state class asset, which has begun to be widely adopted. So, do you still think that it really happened? What is your reason?

Though I don't think the forum will ever shut down, it's possible. In case the forum shuts down, it won't hurt Bitcoin anyway. Because the forum is for learning and discussion purposes, it isn't related to Bitcoin directly. Most probably anyone could create another forum again, same like Bitcointalk, if this forum shut down for some reason. So far we can see the forum admin is very careful to run this forum smoothly. Even he is complying with regulations, like banning all the mixer-related campaigns and threads.

Bitcoin already found its path, so it will run as usual, either the forum alive or dead. No one can stop Bitcoin ever since it's decentralised. Already Bitcoin is gaining popularity worldwide, and big investors are already in. They definitely won't dump themselves; somehow Bitcoin adoption will keep continuing.

This forum cannot suddenly shut down, without prior notification to the community. That's why the administrator of the forum has been making sure they comply with all necessary regulations that may affect the forum smooth operations, so I don't think the forum will suddenly go offline and remain offline forever without any cause. But if by any chance that happens, I think people will still hold their bitcoin should anything happens to the forum, because our bitcoins are not stored in the forum but in our private wallets, bitcoin is not traded in the forum. As long as the exchanges are operational people will keep buying and selling bitcoin. The forum going down won't change anything, there are lots of people that I know, that have bitcoin that don't even know if this forum exists.

The only time this forum will shut down is when bitcoin network fails which I don't think that is possible. This forum was created by Satoshi in order to educate people and share knowledge about bitcoin for people to understand the potential of bitcoin and adopt it. That purpose has already been achieved and if this forum shut down tomorrow, Bitcoin network remains the way it is and nothing will affect it.

It's only the members in this forum and the companies promoting their brand that will be affected in one way or the other.

Bitcoin has outgrown this forum and doesn't need it for survival. I stand to be corrected but I think, the forum wasn't created in the first place as a means for bitcoin's survival.

If tomorrow comes and the forum is gone, bitcoin will thrive and the market price will not change. I think there are more of educators rather than investors on this forum. You come here to gain new knowledge about bitcoin. You come here to interact with other likeminded people about bitcoin. Mind you, there are more than one internet forums where bitcoin is being discussed on a daily basis. It is not just this one.

I doubt if the impact will be much, because Bitcoin is not tied or totally tied to the forum to thrive or function, yes the community has indeed played a crucial role in helping a lot of people know about Bitcoin and understand it better, but we can see that Bitcoin existential and success are decentralized which is relied on miners, various users  and a global network of node to function.
Also remember, there are other Bitcoin community which will immediately fill in the gap, platforms like discord, crypto twitter etc, can serve as an alternative to this forum.
