I can say, that the crypto industry has been a life changer for me, honestly back then when I hear about cryptocurrency bitcoin to be precise I just feel a bunch of people trying to scam me of the little money I had. But then a friend of mine who I would always be grateful to, introduced me to crypto.
Personally I got to know about bitcoin as at the time when Ponzi scheme was really rampant and that was around 2016/2017 and trust me, I wasn’t a single part of those Ponzi scheme not just because I didn’t want to, I didn’t have the barest minimum amount to invest and the sad stories of people making away with other people’s money made it worst for me and when bitcoin was introduced to me, I felt it was same with those Ponzi schemes, so I didn’t want to get involved with it so I could possibly be at a more safer side. No regrets, only lessonsWas unemployment also a contributing factor to your Bitcoin/crypto journey? If yes, how did it happen?
It wasn't but the fear of poverty was my motivation because I got into Bitcoin while still being a student so I wasn't worried about being employed or not as I was still studying. What made me pick interest in Bitcoin and the crypto industry at large was when I found out about the earning potential the industry holds and I have always wanted to be part of a new class of investment/earning opportunity and Bitcoin tick all the box. Bitcoin isn't a job so if I had a job, I would had still had interest in Bitcoin. You don't have to quit your job to invest in Bitcoin, infact you become a better investor when you get a job that can fund your investments. Sincerely, it wasn’t the fear of unemployment that drove my zeal for bitcoin and cryptocurrency at large but the quest to be able to do things at my own time(flexibility) while managing my health was my top priority and when bitcoin opportunity presented itself the second time, I had to give it a shot and trust me, every step was worth it and also agree with you that, when we have a good job, we are in a more better position to invest more since bitcoin and cryptocurrency at large isn’t a job.

Which brings me to this question:
Was unemployment also a contributing factor to your Bitcoin/crypto journey? If yes, how did it happen?
Mine was not unemployment but underemployment. I was already working but what I was earning was not enough to cover my basic needs. Before the month ends, I have already used all I had and couldn't save to invest. I would say I ventured into crypto when I was looking for a side hustle. It was when I was learning another skill that someone introduced me to crypto. I was interested that I had to abandon the skill I had come to acquire and focus on crypto education.

A lot of people started their crypto journey out of joblessness no doubt. A country like this where to get a job is very difficult and yet schools still get students admitted, where do you expect the graduates to work. Crypto is a very good platform that helped in that regard, a lot my friends ventured into crypto out of joblessness that’s a fact.
Crypto has helped a lot of Nigerian youth to become better and bigger in life, i know a lot of people who become very big just for owning a bitcoin years ago, i like the fact that crypto has become big in the recent years, people are even paying to learn it that’s to show you how big it has become.
Thanks to crypto for giving the youth a second chance of a good life

For me I was already employed but still I have that strong passion for cryptocurrency I was doin research and hoping to get rich someday from crypto. I even went ahead and bought some altcoin hoping to get rich from crypto, but sincerely speaking all I was doin was all to no avail but that help me to get an insight to how crypto works, but my introduction to the forum help me alot to explore more about Bitcoin or cryptocurrency entirely. Soy own case was different in the sense that I was working and looking for a way to excape from poverty but I never knew cryptocurrency don't work like that. It was when I came to the forum that I knew what this whole concept is all about, and am longing to know more.

It was challenging for me looking at friends talking about Bitcoin and crypto wherever we are together where am always lost in words because i have nothing to contribute this kept happening on and on to the extend I made up my mind to give myself the chance to know what it is all about while I have already heard so many crypto and Bitcoin related vocabularies I went in to research as well as asking them necessary questions and that was how my journey began since I was already working, Bitcoin and crypto is not just a trend but has added meaning to man kind.

I will say to some people it is a plus, for others it is their very beginning, everyone has their own breakthrough, though Bitcoin has actually save lives and have put smile on people's face, it is a real life changing encounter.
Some people who are into Bitcoin today came unemployed while some was already employed but still have that interest for cryptocurrency, so it does not matter how much they will make in life. For me I love cryptocurrencies and will like to explore it and gain as much knowledge as I can.

Was unemployment also a contributing factor to your Bitcoin/crypto journey? If yes, how did it happen?
I can say yes because I knew about Bitcoin when I was still a student. Back then, I saw a post about it on Facebook, so I decided to take a chance and study it. From searching about Bitcoin, I ended up on YouTube and started watching videos to understand how it works. At first, I didn’t believe it could make me rich, so I didn’t invest in it. Instead, I stopped studying Bitcoin and continued with my life. Later on, I met a friend of mine who introduced me to Bitcointalk. That’s when I read more about Bitcoin itself and decided to give it a try. Now, I’m enjoying the benefits of Bitcoin, and I also teach others about it and how it works. But when I came back and learned more through Bitcointalk, I regretted my earlier decision. If I had invested in Bitcoin back then, while I was still in school, I would have been much further ahead by now. However, I just take it as a life lesson, a mistake like that will not repeat itself again in my life.

Well for me no and I don't really see the possibility of someone who is not employed to be investing in bitcoin or in crypto, so is either the person is self employed or the person is working for someone. That is to to say without a source of income one can't really invest in bitcoin, infact not just having a source of income the person must have a discretionary income to invest with if not the person is not fit to invest in bitcoin. As regards to your friend is either he was self employed if not going into bitcoin , would really become a challenge since there is no discretionary income to invest in bitcoin.

There are many who can change their lives by investing in Bitcoin in crypto while studying. For example, if a person can find a way to earn some kind of income while studying. For example, he can invest a small amount of income along with studying. For example, a small food code, burning boys or girls, etc. All the work he does will not harm his studies. If a person invests in such a situation, then he can create a very large portfolio in the future if he maintains his investments consistently.
If a person invests in such a situation in the first place, then he will not have to worry too much about getting a job after completing his studies. Because he already has a small income system.

This is a very relatable situation that has moved most people into the cyrpto space. Having money thats is not able to sort out your basic need is really a disaster. You would feel like you're not doing enough meanwhile you know you are doing everything humanly possible to make things work. I'm glad how it turned out for you. Great one.

Basically, I think there are people who don't like working under somebody or doing 8-5 kind of jobs especially the type in Nigeria. Such people like to be free with their time and also have that kind of financial freedom. Those are the kind of people who would look for means to get the opportunity to be independent. But I believe job search pushed many into crypto space, only few would have hated 8-5 jobs.
Actually na true but e get some people wey person go work for, e go better make person look for wetin go dey give person free time too. Also, nobody everybody dey like to dey stress themselves, they do hard work, dey work when you get strength and when you no get, all this dey make person consider when they see the opportunity to dey stay at their comfort zone dey work dey get their money and peace of mind too without the fear of your salary being delay.

When people are unemployed after graduation, it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re not fit to be employed, it’s just that, in this country, sometimes even the best of brains with a first class degree can find it difficult to secure a job. And not just any job, but a well-deserving one that can sort vital bills.
Recently, I spoke with a friend who’s doing quite well in the crypto space now, and he told me that after he graduated, he didn’t have anything doing for about 7–8 months. He was constantly searching for a job up and down. Then one day, a mutual friend introduced him to crypto while he was waiting for NYSC. Since he was a bit tech-savvy, he decided to just give it a try. This was about 7 years ago though. He started gaining knowledge bit by bit, got lucky with some good airdrops, and before he knew it, within the space of a year plus, he was already trading coins, Now he doesn't even want to hear anything about 9 - 5 jobs.
The interesting part was when he said he probably wouldn’t have given Bitcoin or crypto a chance if he had gotten a job during that period. But just because he had nothing to lose, he gave it a shot and it ended up changing his life.
Which brings me to this question:
Was unemployment also a contributing factor to your Bitcoin/crypto journey? If yes, how did it happen?
Unemployment isn't a sole reason for my crypto journey, I was just tired of the 9 to 5 regular job routine I was doing back then and I just wanted to try other ways of chasing the bag and I landed in the crypto space. I am a person that doesn't like putting all my eggs in one basket so even as an employee I also try to do different things just in case I lose my job, now with crypto I have all the time in the world to attend to other things too unlike the job I had.

I was in the same boat, longing for something more than my boring routine to find a way to become financially independent. Bitcoin turned out to be that ticket for me. I have always put effort into keeping my options open - even when I had a normal 9-5 ob, I had side hustles going on. Its a simple philosophy: never put all your eggs in one basket. If one source of income falters, good to have backups so you dont end up high and dry.

Even to be student is actually tough , I remember when my teachers those days will be like doing that time in school they don’t bother themselves with how to make money rather they focus on their study alone . But now as a student you having a skill or some kind of a side hustle is encouraging especially those that came from a family who are not stable financially.
Well tbh cryptocurrency has played a big role in my life and I thank God for that , the journey was not easy being in this space for a while without earning anything tangible until a sat down and start learning again properly . And am grateful on how that turn out and I believe this just the beginning there are greater wins ahead

This is one of the most important lessons this generation has learnt so far. Ensuring they do not depend on a once in a month payment plan. Diversifying and ensuring they money comes in from as many streams as possible. A lot of people started their crypto journey out of joblessness no doubt. A country like this where to get a job is very difficult and yet schools still get students admitted, where do you expect the graduates to work.
A lot of comments here has attested to that very fact that Joblessness has played a major role in crypto involvement. It just seems the Nigerian government doesn't really send you most times, they will keep admitting more and its not like they are not aware of the fact that they haven't provided jobs for you.

In fact, education ultimately has little to do with getting a job or earning an income. Now, jobs are generally obtained through skills. Many people are joining various types of jobs through people they know. Now the thing is there are many people who have completed their graduation, but despite having sufficient skills, they are not getting jobs. There could be many reasons for this.Maybe there are fewer jobs for the type of work he knows.Or he is not getting the job he wants. But for whatever reason, if you are not getting a job, then you should develop yourself as an entrepreneur. If he has some money saved up, he can start with a small business if he wants. then, as he gradually gains experience, he will expand the business. So it is better to do something instead of just sitting around for a job. Any type of business, in which it is possible to make a profit with a small investment that type of business should be done. Then, if the income continues to come, if his money starts coming in regularly from that business after that, if he has more money after spending all the money he needs to run his life , Then if he wants, he can invest in Bitcoin from that income, little by little. If you invest regularly, you can definitely expect good profits after a long time. So instead of just sitting around for a job, you should start by doing something small. https://x.com/saylor/status/1894386938381271163

Which brings me to this question:
Was unemployment also a contributing factor to your Bitcoin/crypto journey? If yes, how did it happen?
I will not want to speak for others but this is very relatable and this is what most of us that find ourselves in the crypto space lacked that made us to be crypto savvy’s today. The truth of the matter is when you already get a job before getting to know about bitcoin, you may despise it, be scared and also be afraid of taking the risk to invest into cryptocurrency or earn some money through it by doing other crypto projects available in the space. Seriously, only for those that won’t stress to get a 9-5 jobs but most people that already found success in the crypto space can’t do without it again and a 9-5 job will always look very stressful to them and may not and never want to consider it again in their life’s. Unemployment has brought a lot of people into the crypto space and that is why it if more filled up with youths than any other age category you can think of today. Unemployment may not be a good thing for us to be facing as graduates after finishing school, but along the way, we found a reason to not relent and fight effortlessly to get to pay our bills.

I was not yet at the stage of looking for job before knowing about Bitcoin/cryptocurrency. I heard about Bitcoin many years ago and that was when I finished my secondary school, during holidays. I had this feeling deep down in me that gone are the days where man must work under the sun on daily basis to meet up with life expenses (a feeling that can't be expressed, if you know what I mean). This mindset stayed with me for a period of time before I started doing lots of hunts when I got my first phone. Though at the point of this mindset growing up in me, I haven't gotten to know about crypto currency or anything related. I started with Facebook giveaways, and from there I started seeing some crypto ads (bounty hunts/airdrops), until a childhood friend talked to me about it, that was when we started the chase. Though I backed down for some years (mostly hear in the forum), but I knew I have gotten a place that no matter how long, I will return here, because of the results I have gotten and seen, with no single doubt of the unlimited possibilities, and no restriction/barriers. When I first received my earnings, I had some fulfillment deep inside me, my mindset has truly come into reality. Ever since, I knew I had a place in the internet that can be a surviving place for me, and here it is.
