How to spot potential projects early ?

It seems i need to ask if anyone have the tips to spotting the potential projects early because I’ve come to notice there are some set of people on X who get their hands on the potential ones, annoying part is by the time they post these projects, it’s always close to TGE, which is late already.

I came across Magic Newton a couple of weeks ago and decided to join, then i found the TGE was the following week, i immediately decided to stop because why stressing myself about it when farming is about to end. It was the tech that actually drew me in and now Binance and Bitget posted they are listing it, imagine how much i wanted to be part of this project. But it’s not bad, i’m on the lookout for the next potential one but if you have any tips of finding the good ones early, It would be great if you share.

It doesn't stop there, because in the end it's eligible and not all depends on the dev and what I've noticed now is that many projects prioritize yappers in kaito + binance alpha.

Apart from X or telegram channels that shares information about new projects and airdrops, you can also find some new project announcements or information from the Announcements (Altcoins) and Bounties (Altcoins) of this forum. From time to time, the bounty section always launches promotion for many new projects and from there you can start making research about the project to know more about them and confirm if it's worthy for you invest.
If you also search, there are some platforms that promotes a new project once launched.

So it usually happens that people who share in X share late. If you follow constantly, you will reach the right people or communities who share, don't worry about it, just research and apply again and again. Maybe you will be a part of a community and try to evaluate and find potential projects together. I have heard that sometimes good profits are made when you liquidate some projects, like the Magic Newton project you mentioned, in other words, it can be better to act in a way that takes less risk from time to time.

Watch for rising trading volume, strong social media buzz & early listings on big exchanges. If a coin solves a real problem & has a solid team that’s a good sign. Also check if smart money (big wallets) are buying in. Don’t just follow hype, do some basic research.

But I tell you the dangers of it, because I've seen that different communities that has a huge number of members are relying to these individuals. It can be good and bad. While the good sides is that they are getting free resource and time from that person. And the bad side is about these influencers that can be paid to inject the projects that have paid them to their own communities even for no reason but by simply being paid to advertise. DYOR is the key still and countless times of doing it. X is a good resource but always check if they have a real engagement there.

Not just you, every crypto investor must be looking for that but out of 10 new projects, you may find one potential project or nothing in most of the cases. You still want to participate? Yeah, I would choose bitcoin rather than burning my hard earned money in such a lottery. In my opinion, there is no such potential projects exist. Because, after lots of scams, crypto investors are preferring to stay away whereas some naive investors or some affiliate like you may still pretend like a crypto investor.

Active social media presence is no more a valid criteria for a potential project. There are enough services within this community to get and manage all social media accounts for you.

Actually this kind of situation do really sucks because the primary thing that comes up into your mind that you are already late into the party and you cant be able to grind it well since TGE is already near. Right?
I do understand that frustration since I've been there too on that situation on which having those questions on mind is on how the heck to find out those projects when they are just that starting up? Actually this isnt something that a thing that you can be able to know. Come to think that there are tons of projects that do make out such launching and its been flooding out into the market and thats why choices will be that difficult since there would be factors and criterias that you are following too. Usually projects that doesnt get that much attention is one of the indication too for my part because if its been hyped and just that being linked into other projects or simply copy cats then i do usually skip these projects automatically.

Of course you would be needing up to check also about into overall usage or whatever the utility or neither be a game or whatever type is that trying out to offer. Same stuff on trying out to check about those backers too. Usually projects that do give out enormous amount of profits is into those that being that too silent and being grinded up silently by those investors or even into those who are dealing up with bounty hunters. Its understandable that there's no such thing about precision on choosing up projects specially into its earliest times because you dont know on whether these projects will be that becoming successful or not in the end of the line. Make it sure that you would be only investing into the amount that you can afford to lose so that you wont become that impulsive at the time that you would be seeing that the project fails or you do have that kind of revenge investing on which it turned out to be that gambling already.

Somehow but as I've said, it's still best to DYOR and not to rely wholly to these influencers. They're giving the ideas of the new projects but don't rely on them at most times. Telegram is easy to manipulate while in X, it's true that there can be frauds too. So, it's up really to us on how we verify and confirm these projects if we're into this. But as for me, I've stopped following most of the new ones because they're prone to rugpull.

Just follow some KOLs that usually share project at early stage, even better if you do your own research and see them at seed funding stage in cryptorank or other sites.

Make sure to follow the legit ones though, or you can also see newly added projects in kaito.
The reason you see some set of people on X get their hands on potential project is because so many of them out there shilling for different project, some of them will definitely seems like they always landed good project.

My tips for you are just focusing on the funding and backers.

I believe a project that got massive funding combined with top tier backers will often pay off.

I don't care so much about the project's background as i believe the top tier backers already doxxed the developers behind the project. That's a simple point to pick, which project to work.

Easy and careful man, telegram can be a great source of information and at the same time, telegram comes with it own high risks, there are a lot of shit coins and projects all around that platform, I still prefer x to telegram, I don't know why I have developed distrust so much for telegram channels and whatever is prompted there, the reason may be because of my bad experience with telegram.

And then you had the Donald Trump coin with early listing, strong social media buzz, rising trading volume and yet it is a proper shit coin with no good signs.  These things mean nothing really nowadays.  Any coin is a gamble, even if it has a 'strong' team.  Because after all, what even IS a strong team?  People with a decent background in cryptography?  It seems like even the most well versed and trusted people are tempted to rug pull nowadays.

You may not be able to spot the potential of a project so early. In 2010 nobody knew the potentials of Bitcoin and in their wildest thought would they assume that it'll become a national treasure. Now that the projects are like ants it's quite luck to land on the real ones.

You find these projects on x earlier on and try to be active on x always. X lets you find more on crypto once you start following up and you'll see more crypto related projects that suits your needs.
After finding it, don't just jump into them, try as much as possible to research into the project and find out more, their problems to be solved, the team behind it, the website interface, and more. Once you could convince yourself to join one, go over to their telegram group and channels, and see how active these groups are.

What I’m taking away is:

Stay consistently active on X (Twitter) and follow big VCs + legit alpha hunters. Not just crypto influencers, but actual funds that post early-stage deals.

Also join Telegram groups but be super careful — seems like the best alpha groups are invite-only and not the typical spammy shill channels.

Cryptorank & Kaito were new to me, so I’ll start tracking projects there to see seed/early rounds and who’s backing them.

I’ll also dig through the ANN & Bounties boards here, even if it feels old-school. Sometimes that’s where hidden gems still announce first.

We can roughly guess project's potential through funding. Quite different to back then where a project purely driven by community, nowadays most of the successful project always comes with big funding because they can afford listing in a big exchange which therefore helps them increasing their FDV.
So if you can analyze project's funding, tokenomic, the founders, as well as the fundamental such as the economic model, I think we can roughly guess the success rate.
