You never can tell if a professional is truly as they claim they are or have the level of knowledge that they claim to possess. The problem with a lot of people is that they are quick to make a person mentor when they see material things in their possession forgetting that most of these things might have been achieved using other means asides from trading. Most people that call themselves trading mentors and also selling courses to other people might just be getting what they teach from different materials.
It is right not to fully trust trading mentors because most of them are not really as good as they claim to be, they only take advantage of people that are not really knowledgeable. The best way to learn is to make sure you do your personal research and then compare it with whatever the trading mentor is teaching you. Personally, I think it's a waste of resources to pay someone to teach you what you can learn by yourself.

It has been always recommended that whatever you hear that is related to cryptocurrencies, you should always DYOR, and this is for the best benefit of who is asking questions, so you won't be lead astray. As a trader, you've gained trading experience, but for newbies barely will they know that there's need for them to make research before using the tools they're told to, because it was recommended by their called mentors. We should always watch out for some kind of sneaky mentors who are after their personal gains.
Beginners are the preys here and they need to do everything within their power to make sure they grab the basis of the market and always ensure to do their research about a project before proceeding to invest in that project. The market is not something that we should be able to acknowledge without having to verify our source of information because information is the trend and knowing the action price of the market. On the records, DYOR is very important in the market and it shouldn't be discretionary since the market is filled with volatility, everyone needs to be extremely meticulous and scrupulous in the market since every detail is imperative, who knows? Also, we should have in mind that these mentors have other objectives which they considered ultimate, let's talk about the commissions been issued to some of these mentors in the market, they know exactly what they're doing and chasing after big wins is their goal, we sit back and retrace our steps and know for sure what we actually want. We have to have two-way thinking. Because whenever we are dependent on a person and whenever we are not willing to do any kind of research or extra learning or to know about its opposite sides, then we will never understand whether we are learning about the good side or the bad side. If we do not have the knowledge to understand what we are learning and how much we are willing to learn and whether what we are learning is right for us or not, then we can definitely learn wrongly and we can be harmed as a result of this wrong learning. We can never be dependent only on the mentor, but we have to verify from other places that we are learning the right things or not. If we do not do this, then even if we gain wrong knowledge, we will move forward thinking that knowledge is right.

It is funny how people blindly used applications recommended to them by their mentors or people they look up to without doing a proper research on them. Everybody wants to make money by all means, even if it takes to mislead others which is very wrong.
A few years back a friend of mine recommended an application for me and asked me to register using his promo code, meanwhile he knows too well that the application was not going to give what I want yet he recommended it to me just to make some dollars,
There are many of these mentors on X, their followers do call them Idolo. I don't even know the meaning but they claimed to be web3 experts because they were lucky to make money from airdrop and some pre-sale. You will never see this guy recommend any of the wallet that are recommended on this forum, it's always the wallet by projects, in fact they always like to use wallet that are popular and just because a wallet is popular does not make it better. I don't know if this will get better but the people that are on boarding other people to crypto are not helping, they are not doing justice at all but one good thing is they are not into Bitcoin. Most of them are after meme coins and altcoins that after pumping, they dump the next time. Some of them even organized a coin they pump and make their followers to buy and dump them and then blame some people why the coin dump.

The crypto community is very open for everyone to access, and whatever you hear from someone, you should be able to search more about that thing. Knowledge can never be a waste, and whatever you know gives you an idea on what to say or add in a discussion. Also, it will equip you to know your right from left when being advised about your investment decisions. Where mentors are good, they give you a direction, whereby you don't need to search the whole ocean without knowing the very basics of swimming. Being a member of this forum, you don't need any kind of mentor cause there are numerous mentors in the forum with countless numbers of experience shared amongst each and everyone. Best advice are gotten here with real life examples.

I see nothing wrong in mentors referring who they are teaching to a link they benefit from. The main question should be whether the so called link or company they are referring is actually legit. That's the question. If it's legit, then cool. The problem comes when it's not legit. Otherwise there's nothing wrong in doing that. But you as a mentee shouldn't put so much trust on a mentor. Have it in the back of your mind that mentors are humans and they are prone to make mistakes.

I do see in the videos that they tell their students or audience about an exchange, referring to it as the best. Meanwhile, while it is not, they are just advertising it to get payments.
You know, at the end of the day, most people do things for their selfish benefits regardless of the potential experience others will face as a result of their actions.
I do agree that we shouldn't trust everything they said. I would have said it's Best we discover exchanges or brokers ourselves, but that may appear to be worse, as you may fall into scams because of a lack of knowledge and experience. So after you get any exchange from them, also do personal research about it before agreeing to make use of it. That's the best way.

Sure, I don't see anything wrong with mentor linking his student in a site that he's benefiting from. And even though they link them to a site the person still have the right to decide if they are going to join the platform or not. It is not a must that you will join the platform maybe he only intend to share the information with you as someone who is very close to him then you as the referral you have every right to decide if you will join or not. It just like my mentor, sometimes he used to share links with me but not all the links he sent that I find interested to join. I only join the ones my spirit accept and then leave the ones it doesn't accept.

There is nothing wrong with gaining knowledge. You can gain specific knowledge about trading from those who are truly skilled or experienced in trading. They will definitely show you the way they have followed to achieve success in trading. The way that the advisor has shown you is not completely risk-free, there is always a risk of losing money through trading, but if a trader has the right knowledge, skills and is aware of the volatility and risk of the market, enters the market at the right time and can control his greed, the risk of losing money through trading can be reduced. Before starting trading, it is very important to do your own research or gain knowledge, it is not possible to achieve success by following the way shown only.
Don't start trading with the intention of getting rich quick without knowing anything. It is not an easy task to achieve success in trading. There is a risk of losing money, so it is reasonable to understand the volatility of the market and trade with risk management.

I can say that some people mostly overlook this when learning from someone experience, these days, once we see a successful person in trading, we quickly judge them, that the strategy, and the apps they use are all part of their reason for success, normally you fit follow everything mentors advise you. But that your own research to know more is very important, because their application may have nothing to do with your situation. That’s the reason why I suggest a mentor should be a start point of your own research, And don’t also mean mentors are bad person, because there’s still a mentor that can show you everything you need to know to make a life better for yourself, without any form of stress or unnecessary mistakes.

I really don't see anything wrong with this conversation you had with your suppose mentor, referring you to an application do it really make him the bad guy? It might that he used it and it worked for him hence the reason why he is referring it to you too. Although you may be right about making your own research about the application before you do anything but it shouldn't be because you trust him but just to see if it suits you and if it's what you want, if you are choosing a mentor it should be someone you trust and can rely on for answers to your question. However, trusting your mentor doesn't mean that you won't teach yourself little things like making research on your own.

Being on the forum is a plus but if you have a real life mentor that's another plus as well because there's nothing wrong with having multiple mentors as far they're leading you in the right direction. There isn't real life connections between people you can consider mentors on the forum and for some people it's when there's a physical connection, that's when they get the best value of having a mentor. Nevertheless, you don't have to blindly trust anymore be it on or off the forum. Always make sure you aren't being taken advantage of and being given the wrong advice. There's also the internet to make research yourself so when you're seeking the advice from your mentor, you don't come empty handed but also have idea of what you're being mentored on and that way you get better value for your question's. Mentors should just be an addition to your journey and not you completely relying on them for every decision and steps you take.

One thing I learnt when it comes to trading is that even those that claim to be trading mentors also make mistakes as well and it should be a wake up call for you as either a beginner it intermediate trader to carry out your own research instead of depending solely on others to get signals. A lot of these so called professionals don't have it completely figured out, it is even embarrassing to them that they copy other people's materials and strategy but they tell their students that they came up with those things. Relying on on others can be very dangerous, you can learn from them but this doesn't mean that you should copy them blindly without having any knowledge on it.

When choosing a mentor in a field you are completely new to, you should pick from someone you have good knowledge of his/her life history. In the journey of mentorship, it is expected that you should trust your mentor completely before such person can pass all his secrets to you. A physical mentor is advised in cases like this. If your mentor have a bad reputation of cheating people, you should be careful with such person. Don’t let someone you can’t trust mentor you, that’s all.

You are right, there are some mentors that looks as if they can guide you to become a better person but you might not know that they are planning to lead you the wrong way. There are mentors who led people to platforms they got scammed of their had earned money all in the name that it is a good investment. There are also mentors that will make you believe that they are genuine but you might not know that they will lead to your downfall. We live in a very wicked an scary world so we should be mindful of who we call mentors because some people can manipulate you into trusting them while they have bad intentions towards you. Using a mentor who you know how they lived their life over the years is good because they are unlikely to mislead you.

You are right, sometimes all lot of people get carried away by the flashy lifestyle these mentor live and we begin to think it all gotten through trading, but one thing we don’t know is these mentors don’t share their loses and most them are only faking it online. So for a newbie or as someone who Happens to have a mentor, make sure whatever you are doing, it should be done with your discretionary income, always trade or invest with what you can actually afford to lose. Best way to Learn is to actually make research, and if you are in this forum already, it another good way to get knowledge about both trading and investing. Don’t rely on mentors because you might even be knowledgeable more than some of these people.

Now I am not saying all the applications they refer us to are bad, but it is important and very necessary that we do our own research about the applications we are referred to. A mentor may be referring us to an application that they have an affiliation with or will have some benefit from without even considering that that application is not the best out there for the purpose you want it for. So do not completely trust your mentors that you ignore research, especially mentors that have no personal relationship with you.
This is applicable everywhere, you start with the recommendations of your mentor. However, I don't believe totally that after a considerable longtime in trading, investing or whatever, you're still locked into the applications used by your mentor only, that would be described as being too rigid. It's expected that you'd be able to explore a bit and work with apps that meets your expectation, unless of course that those apps recommended by your mentor still serves your preference, but it's a normal thing to see people adjust to what works for them on the long-run as against only sticking with what was recommended by their mentors. It's also a better advise to DYOR before using any apps since the digital space is very porous now, especially with the advancement of AI. What seems to be safe yesterday might be a very bad option this morning due to exploits by scammers or other reasons.

It is not even a good idea to fully trust anyone in this life. If family can betray some of us, and the close people who are mentors to you people you fully trust can also disappoint you, then in this life, we have to be smart with whatever we are doing. If not, we are always going to be taken advantage of by some of the people we trust so much.As a trader, if you are choosing a mentor, one thing you have to take ownership of is doing more observation and research about who you are choosing as a mentor. Again, you don't need to fully follow your mentor blindly, even after your observations and finding the qualities of a good mentor and taking such a person as your mentor. You also need to be doing your own research because sometimes people's minds can change. Some people may have good intentions toward someone, but certain conditions can make them change. So, if you are following a mentor, you should also be doing your own research. That is how someone can grow well and achieve a certain level of success.

Mentors should just be an addition to your journey and not you completely relying on them for every decision and steps you take. You are right, the issue some people are having is that they put all their focus and attention on their mentors and they rely on them for everything and this is one of the reasons why people suffer at the end. Mentors are not supposed to tell you everything, you need to also do some personal research. When you do some personal research for yourself, when you don’t rely on your mentor for everything and every decision and steps you take, you are going to do more better in life. Your input and that of your mentor will make you grow in the right direction but if it’s only your mentors input it will make you lose some things.

If a mentor gives an advice or knowledge, it's best you verify that knowledge. Just swallowing it without asking questions shows that you too can't do your research on your own. Mentors can make mistakes doesn't mean they are very horrible in information giving. I am just saying this as a human that can unknowingly make mistake. I know your mentors have years of experience but still, verify any claims. I too make small research even though I can't make enormous research on something, but at least I put that effort to search.

I with the saying Don't trust but verify, you don't have to trust everything from the mouth or table of your mentor you should also have your own research ability while relying on him for some pieces of information. Don't depend on him much, always know when to turn a piece of information into a question even if you can't get the best answer from your mentor at least it will give you a clue on which area to search on.
