Service in review: Trêvoid's swap service

Disclaimers:
1. Everything you read below is no financial advice.
2. Everything you read below is my personal experience only and I face no consequences if your experience is not like mine.
3. I have used the service several times in the past 2 months.

How I found them
After eXch's official shutdown, I started looking for alternatives.
Luckily there are various websites that congregate privacy-focused options.
I don't exactly remember why, but I tried Godex, and it was a huge disaster for me.
So, after being sad and angry, I made a post in the Currency Exchange section, to exchange some XMR for BTC.
Trêvoid responded and this was our first deal.
We have conducted several deals ever since.

My experience with them
How it works:
I have tried exchanging 3 cryptocurrencies (XMR, ETH and BTC).
The way it worked was that I was contacting Trêvoid on the forum via PM, or in their SimpleX chat.
I was only telling them what currency I had, what currency I needed and how much I wanted to exchange.
Then, it took approximately 5 minutes to finish the swap.

What I like:
1. Trêvoid claims to be no-kyc. Well, it's absolutely true. I was never asked for any information, apart from my receiving address.
2. The speed and smoothness of the deals is outstanding. Literally, you just swap and leave.
3. Trêvoid provides a letter of guarantee!
4. Trêvoid is listed on kycnot.me.
5. Trêvoid supports monero.
6. The terms of service listed in their ANN is everything I am looking for.

Room for improvement:
1. The community needs to grow. In fact, Trêvoid's service has grown organically so far, which is good. It needs some more time and effort to become properly established.
2. The fee is flat at 5%. I would love to see a more flexible fee schema. Something more variable, depending on the coin etc. But to be fair, I accept paying 5% for my privacy!
3. I would definitely like to see Lightning support as well.

Hello dear apogio

Thanks again for taking the time to write this up. For me it’s always valuable from the community to hear honest, firsthand feedbacks. I’m glad to hear it’s been smooth, private, and reliable for you. I appreciate your suggestions and I’ll keep those in mind for future updates.

Wishing you all the best and safe swapping!

The closure of eXch is a great loss for the true crypto community, but it certainly opens up space for new opportunities.

My experience with them

If I understood correctly (I'm a little lazy to research it myself), it's a p2p swap? For each exchange, is direct communication with the seller necessary?
I have nothing against this method, but it can be tedious if it offers a high level of availability.

I'm building something close to eXch.cx i will be rolling it out soon.

Hello @examplens yes, you understood it right. it’s basically a peer-to-peer (p2p) swap.

Do you have the ability to exchange BTC to USDT, and what are the fees?
Do you have your own liquidity or use exchanges in the background?
Can you go first with trusted members?

for No KYC, low fees (0.5%) BTC,ETH,DAI,XMR exchange use ---> https://splash.tf/?ref=3M6eMGruV

I think he charges 5%, and I see positive reviews from https://kycnot.me/service/trevoid-crypto-swaps?showPending=true&sort=upvotes#comments, and you need to pay first.

I think in most of the exchanges, you need to deposit first before making any swap.

5% is not bad for BTC > XMR, eXch was charging the same if i remember right. hopefully once Trêvoid starts getting more volume, he would consider lowering the fee for other pairs to be more competitive.

he doesn't offer stablecoins swaps as far as i know.

I think in most of the exchanges, you need to deposit first before making any swap.
yeah, but this is a p2p manual swap done over chat, not an automated service. so the 2 parties involved have to agree on who go first.

Hello @hugeblack, thanks for your interest in our service!

We charge a standard 5% fee per swap, it can vary depending on the deal size.

For USDT, it depends on the amount. I don’t usually offer a lot, but in the past, some of my long-term clients have asked for it, and I’ve helped them out from time to time.

I maintain my own crypto stock. That means I provide my own liquidity and don’t use any centralized exchanges.

Please get in touch with me on SimpleX so we can discuss further!

Yeah 5% is not bad indeed. But depending on the coin, it could be variable. For example, I suppose 5% is reasonable for XMR, but is relatively high for ETH.

If I understood correctly (I'm a little lazy to research it myself), it's a p2p swap? For each exchange, is direct communication with the seller necessary?

It works exactly like this. It's essentially like conducting a deal with someone in the forum's Currency Exchange section. It's good in my opinion. It maintains high levels of privacy.

i don't know why you are asking this tbh?
i mean, if you read @apogio review which is literally the first post of this thread you are asking this in, you would have had your answer.

1. Trêvoid claims to be no-kyc. Well, it's absolutely true. I was never asked for any information, apart from my receiving address.

or there is a trigger system?
there can't be a trigger system if there is no KYC or AML to begin with, can there?

conducting a deal really zero KYC? Is that true? or there is a trigger system?

What kind of trigger? Triggers occur either automatically via algorithms or manually by people inspecting the transactions, but since there isn't any KYC or AML check, how can there be a trigger?

The only real "suspicion" that can make you worry (and I respect that) is the fact that, if you send the money upfront, the other party can run away with it. But, the purpose of this thread is to indicate that with Trevoid's swap service, I never had any doubt about my money being lost. *

This is a 100% trust model.
I mean, we just trust and not verify.
Examplens has raised this issue and I didn't get the answer given him. Since Trevoid is in this thread, they could just answer. Must I be in contact with them for to perform a swap? Are we talking about offline swapping here?

You are doing a good promotion, so I guess that's why he thought it was an official exchange and not peer-to-peer. I asked for confirmation earlier for this very reason, lest I misunderstood.

@Trêvoid, I also touched on the topic of the availability of your service earlier, and later, I see that KingsDen also noticed it. Is there any pattern or indicator that potential users can use to orient themselves when the service is available and when it is not?
I assume that as a human, you have time off and are not behind a screen 24/7

note: If you think further discussion is more appropriate for your ANN, just reply in them quoting from here.

Hello @FlowCoin

You can exchange cryptocurrency with any AML % (Score)

Hello @examplens

Thanks again for your interest and understanding! I have replied in here:

3. I would definitely like to see Lightning support as well.

can i connect to them on telegram or twitter?

can i connect to them on telegram or twitter?
Trêvoid is mainly focused on anonymity when exchanging, where Telegram and Twitter are not privacy-oriented platforms.
It is probably best to look at the contact options from the official ANN https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5544046.0
Certainly (not only in this case), the advice is to always first contact via PM on this forum to be sure that you are trading with an original member.

And also, when you start chatting with Trêvoid on SimpleX, give them a text code (example: CHK22-31L) and ask them to send it to you via PM in the forum. This is a security precaution to make sure that the same person who operates Trêvoid's SimpleX chat also operates Trêvoid's account on Bitcointalk.
