I'm pleading with the entire Bitcoin community not to leave this fight for Roman Storm and his family alone but we must join hands to support as much as we can through any means possible because it is war against the core value of Bitcoin. I'm surely donating to this and will be keeping close eyes on this matter. We must do our best to support anyone making contribution that will benefit the entire Bitcoin community and for this case, if we stay strong and resolute, the authorities will understand our stance and may begin to tone down.

Ok thank you for that response. I read the comments of others and I like the idea of conducting a donation here as a community and sending the funds once as suggested by someone. I do not know if there is a problem with that in terms of the forum policy but I have participated in donations thread before and there was no problem. If this option will not be feasible, I will still go ahead and donate through the means you suggested.

I was thinking that this second term of Donald Trump and his body language will mean a total shift in position of the authorities in privacy but these continuous attacks on privacy makes it obvious that they are not willing to let go of it and allow people the freedom to use bitcoin privately as it ought to be instead, they want to exert their control or at least be on the know who owns what and how. This should not deter us in any way, hence it is necessary to lend our support to anyone still taking the risk of pursuing privacy. I call it risk because of the problems that comes with such adventures. This now made me to ask whether truly the government hate a total decentralized system, and they want a centralized authority where they can have a total control of every single platform without them being decapacitated, where they now see anyone who tries to increase decentralization system and anonymity as a major problems to them.

Gvernment actions against developer of Tornado Cash is serious threat to privacy in crypto worldnmuch like case of Ross Ulbricht. While Tornado Cash has recently been removed from SDN list this does not fully resolve issue. I will also try to donate to developer because I believe community support is vital to fight against what we see as government going too far which affects financial privacy and decentralized technology and sets dangerous example for future crypto freedoms.

Same old story, different day, new hashtags. Roman is staring at decades as he has written a tool that can make a person invisible. They despise privacy. They are afraid of what they cannot index, what they cannot surveil, what they cannot freeze or seize or “freeze for your own safety”. Roman Storm is a software developer. He created a software called Tornado Cash. This program protects the privacy of our cryptocurrency transactions. But now the government has arrested him, because some bad people used the software he created. My question is, is this the result of the work of a developer? Protecting privacy is a very common thing in the cryptocurrency world. Because it is part of the basic principles of cryptocurrency. Because of this privacy protection, blockchain technology is now decentralized.

I think this case is not against Roman Storm, but against the entire cryptocurrency community. If someone is punished for protecting privacy, it will mean that the government thinks that financial privacy or decentralized systems are not rights but crimes. Is this realistic?

And if a developer is punished for protecting privacy, then after this incident, other developers will be afraid to work on their creative ideas. Our future generations will be threatened. If we are on the verge of world development and we find ourselves in such a situation, then our future generations will be really threatened.

In my opinion, the job of a developer is to create software. Not to even look at what kind of people are using the software. Here is a small example: Who do you blame for a road accident, the driver or the car company? If you blame the driver here, why is there a different decision in the case of Roman Storm?

So I think the case is not only against Roman Storm, but against all of us. Because this one case will determine whether there will be privacy in the world of cryptocurrency. Will we hand over privacy to the world of cryptocurrency if the government wants us to? We all have to stand by Roman Storm.
