How someone like a firefighter, who does not have anything to do with anything violent or political could be directly targeted by someone with a gun without an apparent reason in this way. This is simply baffling and beyond any comprehension.
I would dare to bet the suspect had some history with mental health problems and even some participation within politics, but any of those things are an excuse to literally start a fire and then kill those who bear the responsibility to protect their community.
I have always held a relatively high respect for firefighters, because they do not hold weapons and they risk their life in a different way police do, so this is specially sad to me. May they rest in peace, nobody is supposed to lose their life while serving their community in such noble way.
