It is wrong for anyone to compare bitcoin and MMM or CBEX. It is bad to generalise all online scheme that involves money as Ponzi scheme because people had lost money to MMM or CBEX. The Bitcoin network is nothing compared to this other scheme and it is good for people to understand how bitcoin works and the risk involved before arriving at any conclusion about bitcoin. There is need for someone that knows nothing about bitcoin to make research as this will help them to get a better understanding instead of reaching a conclusion out of sheer ignorance. People can decide to invest or not even after making research but their decision shouldn't be as a result of thinking or comparing bitcoin to Ponzi schemes they may have encountered like MMM or CBEX.

That's is true. The thing about people is that even if they research, one little rumour like this and they are back to having doubt in bitcoin. Take a look at what happened when a rumor about Opay came out and guys started freaking out. Even person that have been using Opay for a very long time still was scare and moved their money to another bank. That is why it is good that person have their own understanding of bitcoin so that one little rumour wouldn't shake their their confidence. People should quit following the crowd and thinking the way other are thinking. And when people do research their self they can be able to understand what they are buying so that anytime one dude come out with a rumor, you can be able to at least look at that claim yourself and verify whether it is true instead of just jumping in every rumor that comes out.

The fact that they know about bitcoin but do not have the energy to make proper research before making conclusions tells a lot about them. You can't possibly use one wrong to finalize on something, because the fact that bitcoin was involved in a one time dark web scam does not change its purpose. The banks are not entirely clean, there are people who are into bank scams as well so would they say the same with the banks?
It's utterly useless talking to people who have no idea about bitcoin, there arguments are always baseless with a fixed mindset that refuses to accept the opinions of others.
If we consider the negative aspects, then all kinds of inventions in the world that have been made for the welfare of people have a negative impact. This new technology, internet, computer, smartphone, everything related to this has been used for the welfare of people, but people can do various bad things with all these. If we have to prove something negative about the issue you have said about dark web scam, then we should first talk about the internet because without the internet, there would be no such thing as dark web. Bitcoin would also not have been created. But some people or organizations will always blame bitcoin and this will continue in the future. And we do not need to give so much importance to any negative issue. Some people will always raise negative issues about bitcoin repeatedly . Even if you explain them with logic, they do not want to understand. They do not want to accept reality, so we should not waste time arguing with them.

So many people have said that Nigerians hardly do research on things. I don't know whether I am to agree with such facts or not, because many Nigerians don't state facts about things; they rely on what they are being told, not on what they get the right information from "researching''.
This mindset of researching before commencing anything, I don't think Nigerians are good at that because if really they do, many of the Nigerian population won't fall victim to scams.

It's not suprising cause some humans are fund of criticising what they don't have understanding or know about, for instance, some people in our society see young successful person as either a yahoo boy or ritualist cause they feel those are the only ways he can achieve such success but if they go closer to the person and understand that his source of income is genuine then they'll refrain from the negative thoughts, many people have channeled that negative beliefs towards Bitcoin cause they're ignorant about it but if they research to know it's history and what it's all about, their mentality would change.
Yes research helps them with their disbelief and make them see bitcoin differently. But the truth is that not everyone is ready to do that reasearch that will end up convincing them, they end up feeling their belief is final and no point to a research. There are actually persons with that kind of mentality and they remained stucked with that mindset that bitcoin is scam.

Not many people do proper research before jumping into conclusion on matters relating to bitcoin and investing. Some people just go with whatever they hear in public places, TV, friends and family without verifying the source of the information and it's authenticity that's why they fall for cheap scams like the platforms you mentioned that was said to crash. Because of this a lot of people have attributed this trend to bitcoin too.

If that is the case, I strongly believe that no one will trust government banks ever again, because it has failed and disappointed a lot of people. One mistake cannot sabotage the reputation of bitcoin community. People that know Bitcoin very well, will definitely understand this. Majority of people that are making false allegations know absolutely nothing about bitcoin, or maybe they only have little knowledge concerning it and they are not willing to conduct research for more understanding and clarification.

A lot of Nigerians don't really do any sort of research before they make an investment, they focus so much on making money from it than actually trying to know if it is really legit. If an investment ponzi scheme comes up again I won't be surprised that a lot of Nigerians would for it again. Should we blame this on ignorance or the economy because this seems to be a pandemic that doesn't go away in the country. When people go online to get informations about the ponzi schemes that they plan that invest in I keep wondering why they don't ask themselves how possible it is to get double of their capital within a few hours, weeks or days.

The fear of missing out is not allowing them to think of asking some questions or do some necessary research before investing, they will wants to be among people buying so that they will not miss out since they have probably heard that the price can pump anytime, they will take this as the right time to invest for them; they will go without any knowledge and might end up losing some money in that process; and most times, it is not Bitcoin investment, it is usually altcoins, they will want to invest early as they are told and if they lose money, they will not blame themselves for not doing more research before investing, they will blame crypto and tag it as scam just because they lose money due to their ignorance.

How surprising that I didn't find this topic sooner. Sure, people are easily deceived by what they hear and what they see. And the sad reality is that bad experiences spread faster than good news.
Bitcoin itself was never a scam. The idea was documented. And it never at anytime need the influence of people to show reliability and trust. In all areas of life, there will be people doing bad. It doesn't mean that the thing is bad. In this case. Bitcoin is not a scam. It isn't bad either. It is the people who use Bitcoin to scam others that tells bad story concerning Bitcoin.

You wouldn't blame them though, in a country where many ponzi scheme has surfaced countless times and has ran away with people's hard earned money, it will definitely shape their mentally to believing that anything online is a Ponzi scheme without proper research. Before I was like them believing anything online to be scam, and that was base on my level of understanding without proper research, but when I did my findings and observed carefully, I understood how came about Bitcoin and have seen it's pattern for many years before I could trust the system. So it will take others lots of time to study and do research before they could know the difference. But if they refuse to upgrade in their thinking then they will have to be stagnant with their orientation and miss a golden opportunity.

Reasons why people do skip research FOMO is among one of the big one, most atimes lack of knowledge is not really the problem only. Most people will choose to go and act first even after they believe an opportunity will disappear quickly cause they know they should research first but they do another thing else. That why it important having a rule to slow down before investing is of good, a fear of miss out can be prevent with a few moments to verify project.

There is no need arguing with them mate, that's how lots of people miss out opportunity because they fail to learn they don't research not just because they don't want to but is because they always claim to know and their opinions are always right is understandable to be scared about things online because of the rate of scammers. That doesn't mean their are no legit one's people just assumed without making research not all sites are scam they are legit once too and one thing I come to realize is to always research what ever I have no idea about and I most confess it has helped me a lot

Growth comes from understanding information and applications which can only be obtained from the confidence research data brings. Research is one of the most important and valuable tools that sharpens every individual into improvement. However, research keep you updated about current information and trends which in turn is very useful in decision making for traders, investors and business generally. It eliminates falsehoods and outdated information, helping to spot out scammers and fake gurus with ill intentions to whose motion is to rug pull alt coins.
