The first reason is whether the referee will easily show a card.

When Howard Webb was still officiating matches, we jokingly refer to him as Manchester United referee because coincidently, he always punish any team that plays against United either by hitting them with cards and in some cases awarding penalty in favor of United. There are people who do research on the referees though I am assuming that most betters probably don't unless they are so serious about sports betting and wants to be so sure and cover all the bases. I believe analyzing even just the teams or athletes is enough to make a decision and a bet so no need to research for the referee. The only exception would be is if the referee is notorious for a specific pattern.

It depends on the referee and the match he's officiating for instance in a match between Manchester United and Manchester City I'm fully aware that there's always lots of bookings sometimes 3 to 4 or even 5 in both halves combined together an if a ref like Anthony Taylor or Chris Kavanagh is officiating then I'll definitely go for over 1.5 or 2.5 in that game since it's a Derby and both clubs would be tough against themselves. Those refs I mentioned are very strict and won't fail to book players without much warnings.

You're right, because I remember trying card betting before, and it didn't work. At first, I tried to find information to analyze the possibilities a little, but it seemed difficult to find. Furthermore, I thought that card betting could also be analyzed besides looking at the referee, namely by looking at whether the two teams that will be playing are rivals or not, because I think it seems that if there are rivals playing, then there is a possibility that it can be predicted. Not that if the team players didn't do anything that would result to yellow card, the referee would just give them the card intentionally. Some referee can be harsh but if team didn't do anything that doesn't lead to such card judgement, they won't get it. That's why I do personally like to do my analysis based on how the teams normally react to each other in their fixtures.

If a gambler is trying to increase their chances of winning to the point they will jve a very good level of assurance, they go far with their research, they can be that serious because they are placing a high stake so they will do all of such research to increase precision even when we know there's no 100% precision gambling,  you still have room for luck and chance.

For a regular gambler,  basic team information about athletes and other information like the games ahead is enough for them to place a bet on such team, they will just work with that information and hope the referee is going to be professional enough not to mess things up with the  way he officiate the game and that in some cases I'd just enough to put you in favour with luck and chances for a win. You may even do all the research,  get all the information and still loose meanwhile someone can make a random pick and still end up winning even big odds .

I don't bet on referee for cards because it's not possible for me to choose numbers of cards for a match base on the referee for the match, even the referee may not know the number of card he may be able to issue out, since there could be more or less reason to have a card given to players, even the coach may be given cards and players on celebration for winning could get card if the remove their jersey, so anything can be a reason for a match to ha e a card or not and the number may not be determined except we have the chance of getting luck on our prediction.

Once, maybe I often do in some soccer sports tournaments, but there are no options on red and yellow cards on gambling sites, but I do fellow bettors.

From my experience betting the red and yellow cards I won several times, at that time I put up six yellow cards and my opponent put the yellow card, At the end of the match six yellow cards produced by the two official clubs from the referee.

I appreciate your input. You bet on the cards in total, and not about the referee favoring one team or the other team is what I am thinking after I read what you posted. So, let me be more specific again so that you can make it clearer to me which is the reason I created this thread. Did you bet on the cards because of the referee? Or you just go for the cards because of how you think the match cold be irrespective of the referee?

I am just thinking that I can not go for the cards because of the referee, but I can go for it because of the match. I do not even fucking care about who the referee is.

When you said it is not possible to determine the number of cards that will be issued out on a particular match sounds somehow to me and if I may ask do you always know how many goals that will be scored in a match if you always bet over goals or do you know what will be the possible outcome of those game you always play? Of course you don't and it means not only card betting is impossible even all other options are impossible and sometimes possible depending. Some people prefer to play card than straight win, over goals, Goal goal and the rest of them because they believe they are good at it  and somehow they have been making money from it.

In soccer, the most important thing is to observe the behavior of the defense, especially in matches against rivals. For example, in Real Madrid's games against Barcelona, Galatasaray's against Fenerbahce, Bayern's against Leverkusen or Dortmund, and also in Liverpool's games against Manchester City, Arsenal's against Manchester United, and Benfica's against Porto or Sporting CP. The defense tends to display a lot of emotion in important matches, and this can lead to many fouls, red cards, and yellow cards. There has been times when the referee are the reason behind me thinking more red or yellow cards are going to be given and also the clubs playing has influenced me sometimes. There are some games that it's always going to get so intense that lots of cards will be given, more of yellow cards will be issued any possible some red. Some referees has bad officiating record with some clubs and this affects them because they had some problems in the past. The referee decide if they're going to give more cards instead of leaving the players go with a warning, there are some challenges that won't be booked by most referees but when the ones incharge have pasta grudges, it becomes a problem.

Dont say such my friend. VAR have done more good than harm. I know may people are complaining of how the system can be manipulated to favor one side in football games but we have no proof to say that in public. No football club and football fan would say that VAR has not been used in a way that favored them.

What I only want you to note hear is that, every officiating system has flaws because they are being operated by humans. Even professional referees make mistake sometime.

I have heard people place a bet on a team just because of the referee officiating the match, I have heard some people complaining about some particular referee having a hatred for a particular club, so whenever the team is playing, and the referee is the one officiating in the match, then he is always against them. Actually have not placed a bet on yellow or red card before, but whenever I notice that Anthony Taylor is the one officiating in a match, then am always expecting so many yellow cards in the match, and even red card.
