I think that having a positive mindset is keeping us composed when we gamble. Even on the bad days, it keep us on shape and won't make our approach towards gambling to become more aggressive. I agree that positive mindset is not enough for us to win our bets but some certain strategies depending on the games that we're playing. But one thing that we have to appreciate having a good or positive mindset is making us calm at most times.

Most of my winning is when my mind is on positive thinking. I don’t believe that it helps me to keep winning rather I just happened to notice or appreciate my profit easily when I’m positive thinker that time.

Mentality, strategy and statistics plays little role in the effectiveness of a gambling activity. Planning and discipline tops the list and when planning, you must have a budget and decide that you wouldn't gamble beyond such budget within a specific period and discipline helps you gamble within your budget. I like to budget less than 5% of my income to gambling.

When you're gambling within your budget, then you can employ a positive mindset and a strategy to help you stay optimistic while you try your luck in gambling. It all starts with adequate planning so that you don't end up blowing up your finances with over confidence.

Even a good strategy can only take us a few steps towards winning, but cannot really guarantee winning. IMO the only factor that actually determines or ensures victory in gambling is the luck factor. Yes, even with a positive mindset and a well thought out strategy, one should still approach with extreme caution because anything can still happen along the the way.  I believe the purpose of having a positive mindset or mentality when gambling isn't to incur wins but rather, to mitigate losses, when one has a positive mindset even in the face of losses, you tend to be more in control of your emotions, which means you stand a chnce of making more informed decisions than when you've lost your cool and all you can think of is the losses and maybe how to get them back.

Having a positive mindset towards anything we are doing is very good for our overall health and well-being most especially as it concerns the minds or Brain, but this is not a determinant of the outcome of that which we are doing.
Those who think or believe that having a positive mindset while gambling is like a hack to continues winning and profiting from gambling will utterly end up very disappointed and frustrated with their gambling journey or activity.

Grace, luck is the major determinant of our gambling outcomes, I can remember very well that I've lost money to gambling many times even though I approached and started gambling with a very positive mindset, while other times when I was really in doubt, I sometimes ended with a win.

To answer the title, I do not think that a positive mindset is the key to winning in gambling, both in skill-based and luck-based games.  A positive mindset is helpful in pursuing a career or striving for goals since it boosts one's morale to persevere.  But sadly, in a game of chance, a positive mindset won't change the outcome of the game, nor can it help in a skill-based gambling game.  It don't even increase the chance of predicting the right outcome of a game.

I don't need to lose any to understand that a positive mindset can't increase the chance of winning.  It can only help to console us in times of loss and accepting losses, by having a light emotion in letting go of the money lost in the previous session.

 I highly agree that in a skill-based game, a good strategy is needed, but I do not think it will help in a chance-based gambling game.  In a game of chance, all we need is to be a responsible gambler and apply proper bankroll management.

All you need is to analyse the game properly and hope luck does its part. The players will play whatever they want on the pitch or court, and there's nothing your mindset or prayers can do about it.

Positive mindset generally work for most things including gambling. Yes, in fact, we are guilty of overconfidence once we have lost a bet and so we start a vicious circle of sickness over the bet. This does not imply that all positive thinking is to be discouraged though. We should be able to differentiate between such hollow expectations and balanced mindset that is conscious of the dangers.
