There must be a lesson to learn here, we shouldn't do stupid things.
Probably they get killed because they can't pay off what they cheated, sometimes I'm thinking this case is considered "deserved" IMO so that those who have a plan to cheat might change their mind.  How many victims have lost money because they are victims of a cheating?

This case is more than just a gambling related case. This case is politically tied with the Dutertes. If you all have noticed about what's happening in the PH politics today - the current administration are trying their hardest to eliminate all the threats before the 2028 presidential elections. Those threats are no other than the Dutertes. I know ya'll would question or say "this has nothing to do with Atong Ang". Well, let me tell you this, Atong Ang is one of the richest person close to Rodrigo Duterte who will have a lot of connections that will help the Dutertes put into the position again.
Sarah and Atong Ang will be the last people the Marcoses wants to eliminate.

This is how far in gambling operator has gone to because of people who allegedly cheated. For the gambling operator it was about the loss of his business because when the gamblers are winning more than the operator the operator goes out of business.

What I see here is an equivalent of what happens in online casinos where they just freeze or ban your account. Some others will withold your winnings, once the find out that there is cheating involved. I do not support the businessman's modus operandi and I think he should be sued.

People can go a long way for anything that involves money, as long as it doesn't get back at them. Now the big question is: what's the level of investigation from the country police? Have they been able to fish-out those corrupt officials that participated in this crime case? That's the real gambling environment, although this cannot be justified because both the cheater and the murderer are the wrong people in this case, but you should know that if you lose a lot of money in gambling because of your opponent's cheating behavior, then you will do everything you can to get revenge, including killing people.

The importance of honesty in anything, including gambling, don't make trouble until you lose your own life, the victory obtained with the results of cheating that ultimately cannot be celebrated and is only a memory.

If gambling is connected to murder case, then, it is already a different story. It only shows that people can resort to violent actions when it comes to desperate situations faced in gambling. Though we don't know the very reason why they were killed, it still demonstrate that because of gambling, they lost their life. And every gambler should not go thru to that extreme manner of losing their life because there will always a better way how to handle such cases. But in that case, whoever was the main culprit, thought that it was the only way to silence those people from disclosing anything to the public.

Although, no sectors is clean, and we all know that cheating is very bad on things that involve lives or money. But the truth is that killing the gamblers that cheated was not the right thing to do. If the cockfight was legit I am such that they would have arrested the cheaters and allow the authorities to handle the issues appropriately instead of killing them. This is very inhuman. No person deserved to be killed no matter how a big cheater he is. Because if this kind of cruel treatment will be tolerated, then expect that everyone will put death on their own hands, and made theirselves instant killers just because they have been taken advantage.

Cheating in gambling is as old as the game, so there is no need to torture or kill people because they didn't play by the rules. The victims deserve justice, and the government has the responsibility to make that happen. Proper investigation should be carried out and those found guilty should be punished.

If they are dead, it's a waste to pray for them. Rather, I pray that the family should be comforted. The affected families also have the right to know what happened to these individuals.  If possible let their bodies be identified for proper burial.

I am also looking for the answer why they kill those gamblers. I don't think if its cheating since the owners of the business only earns from commissions, breeding or takes a percentage of the total bets.

Gambling should be done for fun and not for killing people if not it is no longer gambling. This is one of the reasons why I don't like offline gambling, because the risk is high and there will be a certain cartel that controls the game. Cockfighting is not really common in my country, you will hardly see things like this here, because it’s illegal to fight with animals here. If you are caught, you might be sentence to prison, so even if people are doing it, then it’s going to be done hidden. The period which you are likely going to see animal fight is during festive period, you will see people fight with Ram, but it’s always done hidden, because people caught doing it are always arrested.

I don’t know how people can be wicked to fight with Animals just because they want to make money, have seen when people fight with animals, and some of those animals do bleed to death, those animals suffer to death, but we going to see people laughing just because they are making money, and they don’t know those animals are in pain.

Aside cheating there’s an ulterior motive which led to the death of the victims, unfortunately no one can speak out for the victims else they deserve justice. There’s a law given when it comes to cheating especially when associated with gambling and it doesn’t state death neither a hard punish instead reading past experience they get banned from using the casino meanwhile online casino state the same rule, there’s no law that states killing someone who cheated besides death is not an option in such situation, this is all wrong and bad.

When it comes to cases of murder, especially the ones that involve those who are exposed to the streets and tough life, anyone can be the mastermind. But without concrete evidence, I guess the majority, especially those who have been pointed to, are still nothing but suspects. The thing with gambling is that everyone wants to play clean, even though not everyone plays clean. I personally don't support cheating, and I believe so many of us here don't, but when it comes to gambling that is found on the streets, or in a very tough region, then there are definitely those who would want to outsmart the rules.
 
Though I'm struggling to understand how people cheat in a cockfight when the cocks are actually the ones doing the fighting. I want to believe that this killing goes far beyond the case of cheating as reported, because over 100 victims is a large number.

Cheating is not good but the penalty for cheating is not even death sentence. They need to look into this case and bring justice to this people that were killed for this. Justice should prevail for them as it’s their right to get it after being killed for what doesn’t warrant being murdered for.

It's the same way I don't like taking part in sports where animals are subjected to cruelty just to satisfy man's gambling appetite. It was the same pattern during slave trade era where slave masters would summon their slaves to brutal fights and bet on them. I condemn this in strong terms. There should be a legislation against cockfighting.

I thought we humans would have grown past that now and not still living like illiterates or let me say inhuman in nature. Anything that has to do with the life of a fellow person should not be tolerated to be gambled on and that does not only limit to humans only but also animals that have breath in them and living like us also. I use to hear of Ram fighting during festive period for Muslims (Eid il Kabr), gamblers bring their rams there and bet on them to fight each other, I don’t know if that still exists because it’s been a while I heard of it from this side. Or regulations have been enacted to stop it by now already because some rams are being faced with brutal death during the fight.

It seems like this is a complicated case, the reason is that many people are involved in the chicken gambling murder case, as Totoy said against Atong Ang.

Yeah, if for example many important people in the country are involved, then there must be some officers involved too, this will be more complicated in the investigation, but it depends on the government how to act.

This is a mafia game - they don't want to lose their dominance and will do their utmost to stay dominant so that various cruel methods can be an option that they will consider. I'm not sure that this kind of case is difficult to solve if the security forces really work according to their procedures - but when the mafia is involved, then the opponent is certainly not only them, but maybe some of their colleagues in the same institution.

If the police and some influential people are involved in the murder case - then of course the case is difficult to solve. Law enforcement officers may get outside intervention that makes them reluctant to reveal who the main actor is behind this case - this is almost the same as the story in movie.

In the Philippines, Cockfighting, which is called Sabong is very popular, but i don't believe these people who went missing were killed simply because they cheated in a game of Cockfighting. I am not from the Philippines, neither do i know much about their political structure, but these men could have been killed to cover up a larger crime association or something like that, maybe they knew something incriminating about people in high positions, and that is why they were murdered.
