What's the authenticity of this information? Can you please provide me with a link to read full information? I haven't heard or read anything yet about this but government shouldn't be blamed for every bad action. Quite alright, I know the government is extremely bad and only few are benefiting from it but yet, individuals should be blamed for their bad behaviour. Even in countries where the government is fair to its people, we still see issues like this happening. This means people can not be absolutely satisfied and no matter the government efforts, some people will still choose the wrong way to earn extra money illegally. There is no excuse for committing a crime. Many people in Nigeria are also under this bad government, but they choose to do legal jobs even when the pay is little. Some of these fraudsters are driven by greed and not survival. This is why you see them spending money on luxuries when they steal. Lack of employment opportunities contributes greatly to the rate of crime, but it shouldn't be an excuse to engage in it. When a criminal is caught he alone will face the consequences. His defence team cannot use bad government as a good reason for his release.

Sadly, the law is blind to corrupt politicians, but it becomes effective if a common man commits a crime. It is even the corrupt government that will send him to jail, so let's be guided.

Well I'm from Nigeria and I was not happy when I saw the news online, this incident that happened has brought a bad name and reputation to us in the international community, it is true that we are not the only Nation involved in scam activities but I'm not happy that my nation is among the list.
I will blame our government for all this because they have failed to do there duty, there's no good job and still the cost of living is so high (cost of living won kill the living) people are suffering and going through hunger, and this is one of the reasons why some people scam and gamble in my country, however those who are involved in scam in my country are also to be blamed because a lot of people are hustling legitimately and making money so why choose to get involved in scam, majority of them get this money and lavish it in women and expensive life style.

This scam activities are happening every day and almost all the countries are now involved in scamming people, some people are deeply involved in hacking and stealing people's money, just like the way they hacked Bybit some months ago.

I'd suggest using a web search before believing these political stories. So, a Trump supporter had $250,000 stolen and about $40,000 recovered. To then say Trump was scammed is surprisingly misleading, though oddly accurate from a certain interpretation.

even though poor governance has it own role to play in the way youths get themselves involve in ill activities, everyone has his or her own life to live and should the difference between wrong an right. commiting crime just because the government has failed you will not save you if you are eventually caught. same government you think led you to comit those crime will still put you under the bar once they get their hands on you. fact is that internet fraudsters are greedy and because of their greed, they just rely on the bad leadership as an excuse why they carry out their evil agenda.

When certain individuals decide to do bad, we should blame them for their criminal acts and leave blaming the government all the time. Criminals are just criminals, no amount of formal jobs given to them will satisfy their greed. The person that committed this act, have you interviewed him to know if he's a graduate or not. If he's not what kind of skills has he acquired that he doesn't have a job? Some of these guys don't want to work, all they just want to do is look for who to defraud. They won't be punished because the people will just do whatever they have to do in order to survive. The leaders know their boundaries and that's why as long as they can fill their pockets full of money that should be for the people, they wouldn't mind of taking them for as long as they're in their regime. You think any government is better, they do only that you don't know how they operate. Bad government is a major role player that increases crime rate, but anyone that sees it as an opportunity to commit crime should know that decision making are personal obligations. I will say the $40,000 already confiscated by authority is the end of the search, if the criminals are smart to scam a hierachy then should be smart on how to go away with the rest amount without being caught.

In my opinion I think bad government and crime work together,  because in a state where the government is bad or corrupt, crime seems to thrive.

Bad governance breeds unemployment, poverty, hardship,ineffective law enforcement, political instability etc. This factors help crime to thrive in such state, so I don't think you can separate bad government from crime. The only way to curb crime,  (because it can not be fully eradicated in any society ) is for the government to do better, so they can improve the life of the citizens.

Anyways, I have always thought that, if the government shows criminal tendencies and disregard for the constitution and laws, it is expected their own people to go against those same laws and become crooks, in the same manner their leaders have got corrupted for the sake of money and more power.
Actually, it is a very similar scenario of what we have seen going on here in Venezuela, our president and his inner circle is a collection of crooked politicians and military personnel. The population realizes this and they try to as well start their own criminal career, and unfortunately, thanks to the ecosystem of alternative currencies and Bitcoin it has become easier than ever to steal millions of dollars in the most unpersonal manner, from hundreds or thousands of kilometers away and having little to no option to recover those stolen funds.
It is the nature of corruption, it spreads faster as those who are supposed to set the example end up being the first and more important promoters of illegality.

You are right Hispo, providing a source would have given us a clearer picture of the situation. These scammers didn't scam Trump; rather, they impersonated the Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee and tricked or coerced victims into providing them money. They send messages to people claiming to be Steve Witkoff, then the co-chair of the Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee. Nobody is immune to a scam, but just as you mentioned, it will be difficult to defraud the president of the most powerful country in the world.

The fact is that the number of scammers in Nigeria is increasing on a daily basis due to a shortage of work. That is what drives the vast majority of young people to commit crimes. Consider that people are graduating from higher levels of education and there are no opportunities for them. What should they turn to?  And the government is aware but just ignores everything.

No one knows what you are talking about here. I feel like i have to explain why...

So, free of charge, here's basics of writing a topic:

1: Assume that no one knows the backstory and start from beginning. You don't explain how did they scam, or if they scammed Trump directly or his office. I also fail to understand any moralism in this. Trump has been notorious scammer his whole life, so why would it be morally wrong to take some of it back? I know it's legally wrong, but legality can clash with morality.

2: Link to the sources. Anyone can say anything with pseudonymous accounts in the internet. So why would anyone just believe it's true?

Anyone who's caught in the act of criminality should be judged and punished under the law of the government. For the government, individuals who do the same thing to steal from the government will be judged and punished accordingly when they are caught. They are not above the law.

Bad government or no jobs available are not excuses to get involved in criminality because there are legitimate ways to earn a living. So many individuals are living with that despite the bad government they face regularly.

There's nowhere where bad government or criminality are not. Those individuals who choose to do bad things, to bring their country a bad name, will face the consequences of their actions because no country harbors or is proud of a criminal. I totally agree with you that crime is  not only found with the people in society, the government officials are the courses of high increase of crime in the society today because a process where by government are full of corruptions and also with the failure of the government to engage the youths, you will found out that such a society will  experience allot of crimes, because of the inability of the government be able to provide to the society.
