Looking for a VPN

Hi guys , hope this is the right section
So I'm looking for either one of these
- there was an privacy orientated VPN, I forgot their name, you could pay monthly at the same price as yearly, and the distinctive feature about them at least a year ago it was that they bragged you could still send them cash in mail, I can't remember their name or bookmark or anything no matter what
- second a VPN with servers somewhere in Benelux that has indeed speeds for 2k, no 20 times buffering for a minute of 2k video

You may be referring to mullvad vpn. They have a flat rate payment and also allow cash payment as well as Bitcoin.

Lots of countries have servers for one of the regions in Benelux, Orbot is one I use and is available for Netherlands. You call also check out a popular option, protonvpn.

I've been using them for a couple of years and everething has been working like a charm. One of the things I like the most about them (beside obviously privacy and speed) is that they have flat montbhly rate, so no bullshit like with other VPNs where you have to pay likme 12 months sub to get a decent price.

You should check out this thread too if you want to discuss other VPNs[1]. I'm sure you'll find good reviews from experienced users, even if the VPN you're looking for isn't as well-known to the average user. I've also used Mullvad and ProtonVPN. Proton usually has a discount for their yearly plan, so you might want to check that out if cost is a problem.

Maybe you are talking about NYM VPN.
I think they are supporting Cash in Mail option, as well as bitcoin, monero, and other options.
NYM is more decentralized than other VPN services, it's open source, and they are currently having 80% discount for 1-year and 2-year plans.

You can use Proton VPN , I've used lot's of VPN like Express VPN, Nord VPN, Mullvad VPN , Surf Shark , Turbo VPN but no one was as satisfied as ProtonVPN. Proton also offering a proton mail including with it's VPN. It's so smooth to connect and privacy is decent.

In my region it's right now costing only $1/Monthly and 15$/Yearly - I think this one is regional google play offer. Proton VPN can be shared upto 10 devices which I found excellent deal.

I used it for a few months before and didn't have a problem. You can pay monthly which is not too expensive. With the ease of the connection, you can get so many IPs to use.

You can pay the subscription fee using Bitcoin and other payment methods.

Check out safing who are owned by ivpn (both good solutions, safing has a unique solution, ivpn is a normal vpn). mullvad is also a good provider. All accept bitcoin and monero.

I don't care about that when it is cheaper option right now, and it's decentralized, unlike Mullvad VPN.
However, it is still in early stages, so I won't say that NYM VPN is better, since Mullvad exist much longer and it is reliable, but it is a very good alternative.

This is true, but I was referring to the question the op asked and not recommending one for them to use. I have not used either at any point, so cannot make a recommendation for any.

Op, or anyone looking for an alternative should find this helpful.

I am someone who literally used every known major brands like ExpressVPN, NordVPN, Mullvad, Surfshark, CyberGhost, Avast, PIA, HMA, Proton, Panda (I had activations keys to them ).

But among all of them, I personally would go for NYM VPN (i actually did last year). If I'm correct they are doing a kind of an event currently, where it costs around 60$ if you choose their 2 year subscription pack (80% discounted). As you can see very cheap option. If you are concerned about privacy NYM would actually be a good choice, IMO.

Personally I am using since awhile (and there are also other countries available for free). Streaming is also working fine but I didn't make any specific test with heavy file. Of course other options suggested are very good... the free option has some limitations for choosing the connection server and so on...

@The Hidebehinder the way you descibed the VPN that you forgot the name, it looks like you are talking about Mullvad, which is indeed a very good option (I've been using ot for quite some time with no issues whatsoever).

I generally agree with your statement. While i consider Proton offer better privacy than regular tech company, their free plan feels too generous considering no data limit and "medium" speed. Meanwhile other company put more strict limit on their free VPN, such as 10GB/month data limit on windscribe.

Proton doesn't sell your data.

In fact, they can't even read almost all of your data since it's end-to-end encrypted.

They are moving out of Switzerland right now specifically because of their new anti-privacy laws.
