They say it is a wise person that learns from others mistakes and I believe most of us here are wise and can reach out to those who would listen to advise in our neighborhoods.

You see knowledge is good and it is power, since I understood how to identify scam or Ponzi, I don't think I can fall for it.

I remember around two months ago someone introduced something called a business or investment that I will like to join and that I will register with certain amount depending on the level I want to start with, that after registration I will bring other people to register under me. That they were into products selling and advertisement. I told the person I don't get involve in such, that it is Ponzi and will end in closing up. After much persuasion, I asked the person to give me the link let me show that it is scam but the person frown face (that I like to argue  ). Long story short, behold they have exitted after the domain expired Ffnga001155.com. The person informed me of their exit (because I have even forgotten about them) and that same people have reopened another site that will last for one year and that they are now into firm making using Warner brothers initiative. You have to watch videos and earn through bringing people. But the thing is the person vowed to recover lost money from the present scam site by registering early and getting followers. What does this mean, another people money will waka.

Okay now why I brought this up is that, on Saturday 12 Monday 7/7/25, I remember I was with somebody and in our discussion the person was complaining of difficulty in Nigeria and hardship and considering joining yahoo because they are cashing out. He then told me a story of a cousin brother who just renewed his scam domain site with 500k or so and that it will last for a year after which he would cash out and build more upstairs, buy cars and properties. Immediately he said that my mind went straight to the exited scam site someone told me about.

I tell people that are around me that those networking "investment" are yahoo guys handiwork.

Don't be part of those that will keep falling for scam.

Ponzi scheme scams always comes with similar elements;

They present the idea of tiers or levels
They always promise high returns in a short term
They are always in need of your money for investments and upgrades
You get to bring referrers to invest under you or they would find a way to do that for you
They never have a particular product they sell or are affiliated with any trusted company
Registry is always within the a short time.

Once you identify any 3 or all of these, it’s best you take the next door out.

I feel sorry for your friend that has vowed to get his money back from Ponzi scheme by investing early, early is not always what you think it is. Those operating the scam might call that late even or even propose a time lapse that would eventually become permanent and he ends up topping his loss. Best course of action, learn and move on.

Na e be why person need to dey careful make no fall victim for scammers hand, because them dey increase their ways of scamming people on a daily basis and if one no dey careful, them go carry that person shine.

You know most times when you will get to know what those who register with Ponzi are doing is when they will come to you to market you into the scheme. They don't ask before they go into it. It is after they have been there and not seeing what they were told then they can begin to share such information with you and by then it would have been late. I got to know about this new Ponzi because the person was scammed in the previous one and has decided to get lost money back. It is an unfortunate condition of bad economy that cause some people to try their hands in certain things that they would originally not do ( I mean those falling for it).

Meanwhile, government keeps talking about going after the owners of Ponzi scheme but no seriousness in that.

There have been too many ponzi scam incident that have happened in the past and i think it's now becoming a tradition that every year, there must be one or two new ponzi, which is why we need to be smart and make sure we don't quickly jump into things like this without doing proper investigation and research about the project. Without risk, there's no reward but at least we should risk with intelligence to avoid being scammed, if you are too blended by the reward, you will never care about the risk and that's where the problem lies.

I understand that in terms of products that are physical or that they have contact address that is physical and traceable to (as MLM), that's those who carry bad all over the streets. And those that you don't see products that they sell (as ponzi). Yes they have same way of recruiting even though MLM is physical recruitment but what is the difference with ponzi where people carry bag for years with promise of achieving some greatness, they carry it for long and at the end they won't get they were promised. Is that not scam? Is that not also ponzi? I understand that some marketing companies selling herbal medicine or supplement exist under that MLM but lots of them are scam too.

Apart from greed which I accept could be the number reason but lately I have also looked at the aspect of hardship from the economic situation in the country. The joblessness of people have also made some people to have another kind of orientation of let me be surviving with this for now. Like people know it is a scam project but because they don't have meaningful source of income, they want to quickly go in with the little they have with the hope to get out faster but they end up being hooked most of the time. For example the person I shared the story on that wants to get back lost money is pained because of that money lost. So had it been the person is sure of getting the money back from salary or something like income maybe they won't consider trying the second time after losing the first time. Lack of job is also a contributing factor or risk factor.
