You have to have actually won an amount of money more than the amount of money you've lost in the casino to say that you've won the casino. A jackpot may not really be a jackpot because the amount that the casino tags as a jackpot may actually be an amount that you've lost more than. So a jackpot will only be a jackpot when it is an amount of money that you've not lost up to, an amount of money that covers all the losses you've made in the casino and also gives you enough for more.

It depends on the previous amounts of money which the person has lost to the casino and whether that jackpot overcomes all those losses which have been accumulating through years, though.
Also, one does not need to win exaggerate amounts of money for one to say one has defeated the casino.
I have a friend in Chile who was invited to gamble in one of the most luxurious and well-accomodated casinos in the city. He had never gambled before, so that casino had never taken money from him.

He decided to play blackjack and by the end of his session he had been lucky enough to pocket 50 dollars from the casino, instead of getting greedy and continue to gamble, he called it a day and quit the casino with that money. In those specific cases a person can defeat the casino and take money from it, as my friend did not intended to gamble again, as he does not consider himself a gambler, he just didn't because he was invited by some friends.

To say that you have won the casino it means that you either have a system that can always put you in profit or you win a huge amount of money and stop playing for a while to avoid losing or better still stop playing permanently to avoid losing later on. If we will count overall PnL therefore only few actually won in the casino since it’s very hard to achieve that due to house edge and human greediness to keep coming when we are in profit.

Here is it, if you play a bet to win a huge amount of money, then believe that the risk in that bet is extremely high and your chances for winning is small, that is why the money is high to win and the risk also being high.

Then on the contrary, some managed to scale through this thin path or chances of winning and won a bet in massive amount, which is also rare to see, but that does not means we have won the casino, because they also cant promise to offer the money they cant afford, after all, they have been earning and having house edge over gamblers, it a gambler manage to win, then that turns his luck for a jackpot.

Probably winning big and leaving before the odds go against you. The house edge of at least 1% makes it mathmatically obvious that you will probably lose a little bit of money in the long term, but there are always someone that loses more and someone that wins more.

Not necessary a win against the casinos I'd say.. that's because everyone doesn't win the jackpot at the same time -- infact, most gamblers may not even win as little as what we all see as a normal jackpot throughout their entire gambling career. Now, no matter how much win gets distributed by the casinos, they're always on profit due to the first-hand advantage which is the house edge.

If you calculate how much some of us have spent on gambling since we started playing this game, it might not get to $50000. I might not be able to accurately calculate how much I have lost in gambling but I don't think it has gotten to the stated amount. There are some gamblers who have won millions of dollars from betting. We can conclude that such a gambler has beaten the house.

This settles everything then. From your explanation, anyone who has won a jackpot has literally won the casino especially if the person has not spent much money in gambling through his entire time. If a gambler just start placing bets and withing the first month he started, he was having the privilege of winning a jackpot without having any history on previous loses that are that much, then he won the casino provided he is going to be careful in spending the money on what is profitable or invest with the money, but if he choose to continue in gambling and keep losing the money gradually on failed attempts to win, then the casino is collecting back their money gradually as he continue to lose on what he has won until he realized over time that he has nothing to show about his previous fortune.

This is exactly what's on my mind, if you managed to win let's say $1000+ in $0.2 (was it possible?, I haven't won any jackpot yet) and they managed to withdraw it or encounter any problems, usually people that I saw winning big jackpots do encounter problems such as "violating their T&C" or just returning the deposit of the player or usually they said they cheat or the game has bug.

I believe that gamblers can actually win against the casinos in the short run. Winning 'the' casino is improbable unless you offer the money to the casino to purchase it and they accept the deal, which is also improbable.

Winning against it is more likely.  Well.  If you hit the jackpot, to me it is a win against the casino.  Even if you win smaller prizes, you still win against it.  The problem is being able to stop at the point where you earn more than the casino earns off you.  Then, you can say you are a winner.

If you keep losing money and over a decade you lost over 100 thousand only to earn a grand prize of 10 thousand, it may seem like it is a lot at first but the 10 times bigger loss makes it a negative outcome.  You may have won once against the casino, but the casino has won for 10 years straight off you.

New gamblers and those who have just started gambling have won some big wins at the casino because they are new to gambling and their previous loss history is very less so on average they have won at the casino. But those who have been gambling for a long time and have lost a lot I don't think they can win at the casino on average no matter how big the jackpot they win.
