Learned My Lesson About Using AI – Just Being Honest for Other Newbies

Hey guys,

I would like to share something With you. Incase it helps another newbie like me.

On 10 july i joined Bitcointalk not much days and i wasn’t too sure what kind of posts were expected. so I thought using an AI tool to help me polish my posts and  give me ideas about posts would be a smart move. It wasn’t like I was copying stuff I was just using it to make my posts sound cleaner and intelligent.

Turns out, that wasn’t a good idea. A few of my posts got flagged for being AI-generated. And honestly, I regret it now. They didn’t sound like me at all just too polished and robotic.

I’ve realized that people here value real, honest opinions not perfect sentences. So yeah I learned the hard way.

From now on, I’m just going to write Myself even if it’s grammar is not up to the Mark . At least it’ll be me.

If you’re new here like I am: don’t overthink it or try to sound too “professional.” Just be real, share your thoughts, and you’ll get better with time. The forum is full of smart people who appreciate honesty more than anything else.

I see no reason why the use of AI should be use when we have our individual ability in writing on what is expected without using English phonetics to get other peoples attention on what you're writing, so i would rather be pure and generic than making use of AI on my post, the main idea here needed is in passing across the needed solution idea and knowledge in our respective post and not to please anyone with the English words used, am not blaming those using it, because its by talent to speak and write good English, however, its also disappointing knowing that anything we post are not being generic from our head.

Don't think that if you don't use AI for writing, you'll sound bad or others will judge you. As long as you write genuine and good posts no one will degrade you or say anything bad about you. Use of AI content generation tools is basically plagiarism and nothing else and thus it's very disliked by members of this forum. So from now own just be yourself and trust me you'll get something for your own genuine opinion and knowledge sharing. AI content generation on discussion forum like this is waste of time and waste of knowledge.

I think it’s already clear in the first place that there should be no using AI for posting, that’s one of the rules in the forum. It looks like you are plagiarizing since you are making others post as your own, which should never be allowed in the forum. Otherwise, if you get caught it doing oftentimes, eventually you will get banned permanently from the forum.

Show your own originality. Stick with your own ideas and insights, because that’s what makes the real you, as we are building here our own identity, our own brand in the forum.

Figured I’d share something I messed up on, in case it helps someone else avoid doing the same.

In many cases some are just lazy, and that's why they end up using AI. Not because they aren't expert in English, they are but they are just bunch of lazyasses. But yes, I second you first statement, some new users may feel inferior with their midcore English after seeing others, high ranked members posting so elegantly. This feelings triggers them to run after perfection and hence the use of AI.

Anyway in my opinion, as long as one is able to express their original creative thoughts, even with broken English, they should be good to go. Not everyone's first language is English. Most of us are aware of that. And there is no shame in that.

Sometimes, learning the hard way is better, because now you have come out to advise others about the effects of using AI to polish your post, not knowing it is useless. When you use your simple words, people tend to understand your point more easily and will also come to your aid if you have some minor mistakes. This is a forum of thousands of members, and I don’t think there are people who will criticize you for using simple words to ask questions or give your own opinions on posts, so what is the reason for polishing your post with such words that even you won’t know what they mean? Useless.

This forum is just like a school, and if you are trying to be clever by cheating using AI, or copying other people’s work instead of doing your research, you will be caught, and you will definitely face the consequences. You have faced yours, and you have learned. I pray others who are doing such things stop early before they get caught.

Treat the discussions here like you are talking to a person or group in actual. It's more comfortable that way. Just go with your usual way of conversation as long as you stick to a proper way of conversation. You will soon be used to interacting with other forum members.

Thank you for sharing your experience, this will serve as a big reminder for newbies out there not to dare apply AI on their post, this is certainly against the forum rules. And just to clear it out, there’s no competition in the forum, so one shouldn’t compete with one another to the extent of relying into AI just to come up with well-polished and well-organized post.

Instead, develop your own posting original style. Do not mind some small errors, as that will be corrected in the later part. The most important thing is, you are genuine and honest whatever you are posting in the forum.

I don't the reason why most of the people will use AI to make a post, op it's not good using AI to make your post, you can also make a quality post without using artificial intelligence to make your post, anyone that is addicted to use artificial intelligence to make a post that person may likely not to make a quality post with it's brains, for me I see using artificial intelligence to make a post a laziness, because it will be faster and also you think deeply as a human being to give answers to your discussion, it's prohibited using AI from my own perspective

Don't use AI; it will only lead you to a wrong information.
You can use Grammarly if your problem is grammar, spelling, and fluctuations. Just don't use the paraphrasing tool on Grammarly because sometimes your posts are detected as AI and plagiarism.

I only use AI for coding; it actually helps me a lot when solving some errors in my codes, like Pine Script with trading strategies that I use for testing and a small HTML/CSS for my blog.
Don't use AI-generated posts here. All of us here are hunting for those posts and report them immediately.

Isn’t it unfair for the rest of the members if you only copy your post from AI when others are even doing extended research just to create a meaningful post in the forum? You know this is already our own initiative. We are promoting here various facts and ideas coming from different individuals, so if you only resort to copying AI, that’s in fact dishonesty not just on your part but to the forum members as well.

I hope this will serve as a wake up call not only for newbies but to the rest of the members here. AI has been proven helpful but not in this kind of genre, not with this type of forum task.

You can actually use AI but for research purposes only. It can automate your researching and could make your tracking of information more faster. But if you use it and copy then paste the stuff written there for sure you will really get a problem. Since its like cheating on the discussion you are participating.

You cannot contribute anything on the thread since you don't share unique ideas and just use that tool to make your posting more faster.

Also what I notice you are not actually didn't regret for using it since you are using AI again when creating this thread.

Everything here is made on AI so still nothing change and you are just trolling those people posting in this thread.

Using AI to write Bitcoin Talk topics or replies makes NO sense unless the account owner is trying to farm the account for signature campaigns, to sell it or to get it ready for a big scam.

Why do people always write AI replies here but never use AI to write an SMS, an email or anything else?  Has the world become SO lazy that we can not even write two lines of text on our own?  It takes more time to find a way to write the right prompt than it would take to simply write your own answer down and send it.

If the reason behind it is that the account owner is in a big need of attention and really wants so badly to be the main character, it is even worse in my opinion.

Being authentic and using your real voice is much better than sounding too perfect or robotic, which mostly happens with AI tools. It is good to admit mistake and by sharing your experience you are helping others understand that genuine and little imperfect writing builds trust and connection in online communities more than fake and impersonal text. We are not here to judge you if you're grammar is not that good, its true that sometimes others don't understand what we are trying to say since were not good at explaining, but as far as i know, we are here to help each other and not embarrassed anyone, I too have problems posting, since i am not good at posting, but as we go along, we learn during that process, also reading other post is good since it will give you idea's how to compose.
