Bitcoin Education

Matthew Kratter from the Bitcoin University YouTube  channel is my favorite Bitcoin educator. He’s genuinely very intelligent he used to work for years in finance as a hedge fund manager, and now he creates amazing video education about finance and Bitcoin.

Bitcoin tutorials

I think there’s no better educator for Bitcoin tutorials than BTC Sessions. He creates amazing tutorials about wallets, nodes, and everything else related to Bitcoin. It’s easy to follow along with his tutorials because they’re step-by-step. Even non-technical people can easily learn the more complex technical stuff with his help

I think he doesn't need any advertising, as he is quite a famous person. I have enjoyed watching his YouTube channel since I registered on the forum, and that was quite a long time ago, but I still won't stop advising my friends to get to know this wonderful person and his YouTube channel.

In keeping with my attempt to wean myself off of Google services, I haven't been watching YT videos nearly as much as I used to and probably won't check any of these out (but I haven't decided yet).  Nevertheless I appreciate the links, OP.

From what I've seen over the years, the quality of content when it comes to videos having anything crypto-related as their theme has dropped to the bottom of the cesspool that is Youtube; right now it seems like there's a lot of misinformation or simply lazy video creators making at best mediocre videos for the sake of making money through ad revenue and/or sponsorships--kind of like shitposting here on bitcointalk, you know?

On a related note, whatever became of this forum's own YT channel?  It never reached the popularity many of us were probably expecting, but I always liked it when a new video came out.

Youtube videos, one better got to be careful, because there are lots of uninteresting clips there the same way we can find some that are educative and informative about bitcoin and cryptocurrency like Andreas M. Antonopoulos channel and some other prominent youtubers we can subscribe to their channels.

Its also a thing of preference, whereby we choose from between the learning platform we preferred alternatively, if by watching videos, going to Github or staying on bitcointalk to learn about the necessary information required about bitcoin and other crypto.

If you are a newbie who just joined the crypto club & wanna learn the basics, like different terminologies related to crypto, how what why, then I believe this channel below would be the perfect fit. I have personally watched their videos and they were superrr beginners friendly, imo. The way they explains these topics are very different than others. They focus on more visual explanations rather than nonstop talking, it's like reading a story book to a kid. This is why I would say, even a child would be able to understand it.

Andreas M. Antonopoulos is also the only Bitcoin speaker on YouTube that I can recommend to someone. He has written some good books on Bitcoin which have been impactful to the industry. Some of his books include Mastering Bitcoin: Unlocking Digital Cryptocurrencies,  The Internet of Money: Talks, Mastering the Lightning Network: A Second Layer Blockchain Protocol for Instant Bitcoin Payments, Mastering Bitcoin: Programming the Open Blockchain, etc. I think he has a deep understanding of the operations of Bitcoin, that is why I can follow him on YouTube.

According to their profile and website info, it looks like the owner of that channel owns a channel called Practical Psychology. I took a quick look at that channel, and they seem to have gone offline for 2 years. I guess they pivot to crypto after that? I don't know the quality of their content, but it seems some videos are quite popular. Having 1 million subscribers or more is also surprising. I do agree that watching interesting infographics is more fun compared to listening to a long session of a podcast with little to no graphics. CMIIW.

Antonopoulos is one of Bitcoin ogs and he used to be a forum member, even as a local moderator.

aantonop was appointed a Greek moderator in 2013.

His Youtube channel has many playlist about Bitcoin including one series for Beginners.

To be honest, I have learned more about Bitcoin from this forum than from YouTube and till now my learning is continuous. Learning from YouTube wastes a lot of time and irrelevant things come up but I got help in very short time from this forum and from the respected members of this forum to know about the things I don't know about.

Yes it's true that when it comes to genuinely learning things that has to do with Bitcoin, this forum is more resourceful than contents found on YouTube. Because while an average member of this forum teaches for the primary aim of sharing knowledge about what he/she knows to others, on the contrary, an average YouTuber creates content for the primary aim of getting views, do as to earn, and by so doing, most of them create click-bait contents with literally little or no value. Unlike threads found on this forum that overs complete value about Bitcoin, and everything related to it, both mining, technical discussion and integrations. Hence, the forum remains the best place to learn about Bitcoin.

That being said, some channels do try to add unnecessary filters because they want to ensure their videos can be monetized. It's unfortunate that YouTube set the rules that way, afaik.

There are helpful educational Youtube channels for learning especially if newbies need something like visually practical guides. If they already read text guides, try to practice what they read but failed to do it in practice, a video guide can help them.

However, I still believe that before watching a video, reading text guides is very important because it can give very succint details that often are enough for your learning and practice.

Videos are usually time consuming and wasting and people have to spend more time on watching videos than on reading text guides.
