It's the art of war. You want war to be waged somewhere because it fuels your economy. Remember how Turkey made a good deal to supply drones to Ukraine when the war broke out? France was sending gun sights to Russia, later Russia bought drones from Iran and shitty misfiring ammo from North Korea. All these countries are pretty far from the conflict, making money from it. That's what many countries used to do in the past. You want to be the supplier, but once it goes out of hand, you want it to stop. The problem is, you can't control wars. Trump thought he could make peace in Ukraine, so he phoned his friend Putin and threatened Zelensky, but he soon learned that Putin will say one thing and do the other. He'll say he wants to cease fire, but Ukrainians won't allow him to. So Trump goes back to supplying Ukraine, thinking that maybe if Putin suffers more losses he'll be more eager to look for peace, but the reality is, he won't. He went too far, lost too many people to stop without securing a significant part of Ukraine. The war will continue. and the US also benefits from it because it weakens Russia.
