I created a Trust Wallet (Chrome extension) account and transferred bitcoin from my Coinbase account. Now I would like to convert some of my Bitcoin to Tether, but i can not do it in Trust Wallet and also not in Coinbase.
What would be the easiest solution?

Firstly Trust wallet is not a good wallet to use. It is a close source wallet and choosing open source wallets is recommended. If a wallet is only non custodial but does not meet another criterion of open source, you must avoid that wallet and try to find open source wallets to use.

I don't use Trust wallet and I don't know how to convert (swap) Bitcoin to USDT in Trust wallet.

You can send your bitcoin to a centralized exchange, sell bitcoin for USDT and withdraw USDT to your non custodial wallet.

u can use swap services but before u do that

learn about the chains, tether usdt is on several chains

ethereum, tron, binance, and they all have different fees when sending usdt

and i recently came to know that bnb chain has the most lowest fee

but do you own research and learn about it before u end up making mistakes

There have been reports of issues and even scam with the swap features of Trust wallet and there are also reports that Trust wallet is not a good one since it is not open source. So, you should be extremely careful of using that wallet. You should have done the conversion in Coinbase before withdrawing tether which would even give you lower transaction fees. You can do the conversion in any of the exchanges instead of using Trust wallet.

You should take the advice of the first poster seriously. Trust wallet is not a good wallet. It's closed source and the code can be easily exploited by scammers. Here's the trustpilot review and it's not looking good:

As others have written in this thread, TRUSTWALLET IS A GARBAGE WALLET. Stay away from it!

I myself have lost around 6k USD using that shitty wallet. The UI is broken and extremely flawed. And this is the main reason why I lost that money. Furthermore, Trustwallet is closed source, so you have no idea what is going on in the background. Anything could go wrong at any time. Ironically, Trustwallet cannot be trusted.

Secondly, you are trying to swap between two different blockchains. This will not work. Crypto can be swapped but it has to be on the same blockchain. For example a BTC token on the binance smart chain can be swapped for usdt on the binance smart chain. But that does not mean that the usdt is the same as the Ethereum ERC20 USDT. It is simply a different version of it on a different blockchain. And you cannot swap the bsc version for the eth version.

There are ways to swap between blockchains but it would be easier to do this in your Coinbase account or any other centralized exchange than it is in a decentralized way. While things like atomic swaps between compatible blockchains exist, they are far less user friendly. Especially to those who are not very familiar with crypto in the first place.

So since you have a cex (centralized exchange) account, just use the cex.

Coinbase is an exchange that supports trading pairs of converting BTC to USDT. All you need to do is to navigate to convert and choose the coin that you want to convert into the other. For instance, you are to put BTC to USDT and click the convert button.

I would advise you not to use trust wallet but use a different wallet to store your USDT like MetaMask wallet after you must have converted it from your Coinbase or any other centralized exchange.

Both the mentioned wallets are good for conversion of one form of the currency to the other form. One is old and doesn't get regular updates and the other is an exchange which is mainly for US mainland. I advice you to the website in my signature.

Trust wallet got built in swap services but I never used it and I don't recommend it either.

If you want to convert from bitcoin to any crypto or vice versa just go with the traditional centralized exchanges for example Binance, Coinbase. You mentioned coinbase account which means an account in their exchange or you are talking about their non custodial wallet?

For some reason, the OP said that he wasn't able to do it in Coinbase, although this doesn't make much sense. In fact, I've just checked in my Trust wallet (which I don't use, but I still have installed somewhere) and it seems that he can swap his BTC for USDT also there.

micro spyder, let us know what you finally did, but it shouldn't be so difficult, both in Trust or Coinbase.

So when next you want to convert Bitcoin to tether you send it to a centralized exchange like kucoin, bitget or binance instead of trust wallet. Trust wallet is not to be trusted.

Trust wallet is like other web3 wallets, can not swap coins directly and if you want to swap coins, you must connect your wallet to a DEX. Connect, approve smart contract access to the DEX, and then you can swap coins.

I believe that if you don't use Trust wallet (you dislike it) but use other Web3 wallets like Metamask, Myetherwalllet, and more but you will have same issue. It is exception only if that web3 wallet has its own DEX but surely Pancakeswap is a DEX, not a web3 wallet. So I think you misunderstood things here between wallet and DEX.

Additionally, with DEX, there is slippage and also liquidity pool that decide how much price will be affected by your swap value. There are also front-run bots set by developers of that token if they want and you must be aware of sales tax too before swapping.

Are you sure you can't able to convert or exchange Bitcoin into Tether or USDT on Coinbase?
Weird that you bring your BTC on a closed-source wallet. Coinbase have an option to trade your BTC to USDT I don't know why yours doesn't have option to exchange your BTC to USDT; that's weird.

Anyway, I don't use Trust Wallet in the Chrome extension, but in the mobile version, they have a built-in swap and support almost all networks, including BTC, ETH, and Arbitrum.
I don't know what your purpose is for exchanging BTC to USDT, but I think on the Chrome extension they should have an option to swap so you don't have to go anywhere.
Just make sure to choose the right network.

If your purpose is to transfer this USDT to another exchange for a cheaper transaction fee, you can use the USDT in the Arbitrum network because the transaction fees on this network are cheap.

easiest way is sending your bitcoin to a known centralized exchange like binance. swap btc to usdt there and send the usdts to your wallet.

Send assets from Trust Wallet to the exchange if you want to convert to Theter. If that doesn't work either, that's Trust Wallet, a worthless wallet.

Gan. It is better not to use Trust Wallet as a place to store Bitcoin. Bitcoin is quite a valuable asset. So, storing it in Trust Wallet would be risky because Trust Wallet is not a wallet worth using as recommended by many people who have experience in storing Bitcoin.

Bluewallet is a good option to use as a Bitcoin-only wallet. Another option is Electrum.
Open source wallets are better than closed source wallets. You should first learn what a Trust Wallet is.
