Hello Everyone, Following up on my previous topic of where i was proposing a Bitcoin Address Verifier tool built specifically for BitcoinTalk:: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5549218.0 unfortunately the feedbacks were more of discouragement so i thought of another lighter idea of a Bitcointalk Profile Analyzer & Rank Progress Tracker for Newbies and Existing Members as well.


The Bitcointalk Profile Analyzer & Rank Progress Tracker is designed to scrape, analyze nd visualize any user's public Bitcointalk profile data where a user can paste his/her unique profile link and the system provides detailed insights into the member’s current forum rank, merit and activity levels and their progress toward the next rank

This is the working steps:::

• The system extracts data directly from a Bitcointalk user’s public profile URL such as::: usernam, numberof posts, activity scores and merit points
• Automatically determines a user's current rank
• Compares the user’s merit and activity levels to Bitcointalk’s official rank thresholds
• Calculates how far the user is from the next rank
• Displays rank progress as a percentage using both activity and merit thresholds.

I hope to make it in two phase and this is phase one of it and in this phase the benefitiaries are mostly the new users and other low rank members like me in the forum!! they can use it to track how close they are to reaching Newbie or Jr. Member status and also tracking of rank progress to motivate posting meaningful content, comments and merit earning

In phase two i hope to add this features for::::

• Bounty Hunters so it can help track the required ranks for eligibility in signature campaigns
• Reputation Analysts so theycan easily review rank progression of any public profile
• Forum Moderators & Investigators so theycan quickly fetch merit/activity data without navigating the full forum

It is currently on free hosting space on render i am hoping the community likes it and possibly i might get some voluntary support from individuals to host it officially and eeffect the features i listed out aabove. this is the link it is a limited bandwidth traffic so possibly some people might not get to view before the allocated bandwith get exhusted::

Also, i wonder what's your logic of getting 17% progress from current activity and merit? Will you make the project open source?

Have you taken a look at Bpip.org yet?
It actually provides most of the features in your tool. You could have made a suggestion for them to a new feature in the platform.  

Bounty hunters don't even know how the meta board looks like let alone other boards outside the Alternate cryptocurrencies board. This is a fact, so they will not use the tool so much.

But anyway, this shouldn't go without me commending you for the good work and effort. Who knows what more you have in store for us.

This kind of reminds me of Bitcoin account pricer **hope I got name correct ** and from the demo run what metrics are used to get to that merit percentage,  would love to see how it shows up for different ranks.

Sorry for that error i guess i didn't take note of it when i push it into my GitHub Respository and hosted it live. I have fixed the issue and it is now working fine. A line in the script was still sending  requests to the localhost instead of the live Render domain.

Also thanks for the observation on the progress percentage. The system calculates progress towards the next rank by averaging activity and merit progress. But is like Flask backend is returning 17%, becos it only uses merit for the calculation instead of the average of merit and activity. I will have it tweak a bit so it can sync the backend withfrontend logic

The tweak wil include separate progress breakdwns for Activity and Merit in addition to the overall average that is already avaialable.

Sorry for that error boss!! i have fixed it issue and for the question you askedthe Merit Progress percentage is calculated by comparing the user's current merit score to the required merit of the next rank. Although one of the boss here observe something so i am having the code updated so it can display both the percentage score progress for the activity and merit so it can give clear balance to the overrall percentage

Sorry Boss i think the issue is because i am hosting it on a free plan so it keeps getting some minor glitch, but it is displaying fine now

The goal is to give users especialy newcomers a fast and simple way to track their rank growth on the forum based on their activity and merit It eliminates guesswork and makes it easier to set goals and qualify for campaigns also mobile friendly no login-needed and one very key thing is that users dont have to manually check their activity and merit and compare it to the rank thresholds

Yes i have looked at Bpip.org and honestly it is a good system for analyzing Bitcointalk profiles as well  but sincerely mine is created with a different intention in mind  sucha s to serve newbies jr. members & bounty campaign applicants who often want a quick nd mobilefriendly system with no login needed in order to like instantly check their current rank,,See what they need to reach the next rank nd view simple progress bars for merit and activityand we can all agree to the fact that new users often dont understand the rank system or how to grow their account strategicaly

one thing is a fact though Bpip.org surely  has rich data and goodtrust stats bt it can be overwhelming or underused by those who only care about rank progression for campaign eligibility and i beliv that’s where my tool fits in.

Boss you also have a point that Bpip.org provides most of the features i am highlightin in my tool. Bpip.org actually does provide detailed Bitcointalk profile data and shows rank names nd also use for reputatio and transparency checks

But so far it doesnt calculate progress to the next rank, you can see your current rank, but you dont get know how close you are to the next one,,, which metric activity or merit you need to focus on and no any visua progress bar that cann help you judge rank readiness

There is a rendering page when you first load up but it doesn't appear later on when you revisit the site, I'm guessing cache handles that. Anyways that aside, I did a couple of test runs  on different users profile including mine and I kinda discovered how your scraping works. Seems your scrape depends on both merits and activity number now if the user has sufficient activity for the next rank but insufficient merit the merits number is automatically used as a percentage to the next rank. And inversely if the user has sufficient merits and insufficient activity the scrape then depends on your activity score as a ratio too the activity needed for the next rank.

Nice tool but you should add more features other tools on the forum don't have yet.

With the way I look at things, it seems there are no much things that programmers will develop in the forum again. Ninjastic.spacr and Bpip.org have covered almost everything to be done. On the other hand, PowerGlove and theymos have implemented so minor fixes.

If a developer is not thinking out of the box, they might end up developing what is already in existence or what will hardly be used. I appreciate programmer3666 for his efforts since he joined the forum. I am confident that the longer he stays in the forum, he will naturally come up with ideas that the forum sincerely need.

Hint for Op: Open a thread and ask the community what they want you to develop.

I don't know why it's not working from your end. I just test run it and it worked perfectly. However, it only work for merits and ranks. OP, should think outside the box.

It's working fine on my end, but it did show me the Render presentation page(like the one you mentioned before) at first, so I went back to the OP's link and clicked it again, and then it was fine.

To be honest, I think OP's project would be better if it were somewhat similar to bpip.org, because overall I don't see much use in it since everything that can be seen on the app he created can already be seen on your profile, apart from the "progress".

I commented one time on your post related to creating a tool for the forum, since you are optimistic that your tool will help the forum, i commend you for the start. Ninjastic.space and Bpip are already serving the forum but we can't be against advancement, surely we will need them.

It worked perfectly for me, opinion after reviewing, is it possible to make the search option using Username instead of URL.

Honestly maybe the issue is from the hosting platform, I mentioned the fact that i am using a free hosting plan so it could be the reason why it occasionally have minor glitches. But i believe its now working fine because i just used it myself and i added new features to it. I appreciate the positive feedback. The first page is being showed by the hosting platform because i am using a free hosting plan for now to put it live. and based on your recommendation regarding adding more feature. I jst added new features to it. The number of Activities needed and Merits needed to go to the next rank are now included  and also I add some nice Visual progress bar to complement the percentages.

I just tried it and it worked without problems, everything was fine, although in two tests I did, in one it appeared to me at 79% completed for my next rank, and in the second it appeared to me at 87%, which would make sense if there had been changes in my account, or I had received merits recently but that is not the case, I recommend you carefully review how you are managing those percentages, for the rest, thanks for the initiative!

So from what I can see 1000 merit is 100% on next rank to legendary
So if I have merit lower with higher activity you calculate my progress on the forum by my post or activity count while if my active is higher than merit it means I have lesser good post to rank up, so I have to put more effort in making good post. if interpreted in my way it's going to help guys put more effort but if it's just merely activities without quality then it's just same as the forum does give it's rank without minding the qualyof users post if only they have the merit required and since having merit is not that easy except your doing something good then it's a very good idea you have here!!

However I think it's just need more interest things that the forum doesn't have , I can't even think of that which will make it exceptionally good, maybe you can think of that yourself.

I like that you added the "to rank up", where it shows how many activities and merits you needed to rank up. You should continue adding more features and build it up. Also, you should make it possible where people can search their progress by only using their username.

Thank you boss for the kind words of encouragement. I will look into the issue and address it, i am sure it is coming from the formula used to calculate the percentage but i will have it fix as soon as possible.

I tested the tool and it looks cool to find out what's the current progress from reaching the next rank and also I checked a few times to see if there's any wrong figures after reading someone reported it gives different numbers and for me it gave the same with the few tests.

I would like to have a feature like desired rank instead of just the next rank so we can track the progress for other ranks than just the next rank. A Good-fun tool and does the job what it's supposed to do.
