Even if he failed to lock the topic it will be removed sooner because we have active moderators on the forum, I think only a gullible or greedy newbie can decide to check it out.

In case of things such as phishing or suspicious links, before creating a thread like this, just report to moderators. So they could handle it as soon as possible. You will be tired if you need to create a thread for each phishing link. Because there are a lot of scammers around us, they often create new accounts when they get banned from one. The problem is they could change the link or use a short link to make us fools. So keep reporting when you find phishing links.

Scammers know very well their post will be deleted as well as people will warn each other if the thread isn't locked. So they follow this technique to confuse newbies. For me, I just report to moderators and mark it as good after some time. This means moderators are pretty active to prevent phishing links.

Seem to come in waves (Currently hasn't been one posted in a few hours). Not all that sophisticated either. Likely just one person that's got a automatic captcha solving system, creating accounts from randomly generated usernames and then has a script for posting.

The time of registration and when they post the content seem to be fairly consistent.

I guess that they are maybe the same Guys that are posting other Shady Things here like the Fake Anns with Malware.
The last months they are also doing that in Waves and there is already some kind of pause of there Posting Stuff.
But to be honest , i am latly very proud of the Community and a few Users here on the Forum for Reporting Things like that.

Being vigilant isn't just one person's job so yeah, looking into matters like this and preventing people from being victims isn't something that should take much out of us but my problem is with those newbies who look less before they leap into these kinds of things because as outrageous as it might seem to someone who is experienced at detecting such, it might look like a novelty to them so it's necessary to keep an eye out for things like this.

Its very important that we report any of such once sighted before they can go further into infiltrating on innocents minds for an attack, when their post is taken down as quick as possible, they will not be given the chance to spread to unscrupulous users that may not know about their intention to hack them, report any post with suspicious link or content to the moderators is everyone of us task to do.

I suggested that newbies shouldn't be allowed to post links directly after creating their accounts last year:

What we can do is to have a requirement after creating a new account for users to be able to post links, which means that if someone creates a new account, they shouldn't be able to post links unless they spend a specific amount of time in the forum like 24 hours or something. So if someone joins the forum being interested in the forum itself and plans to stay, they should be okay because they will have the requirement completed within a few days, and those who are doing these things won't be able to post links to promote specific services.

The only exception should be for users buying Copper membership, which means that if someone buys Copper membership, they should be exempted from this requirement and be able to post links immediately.

But apparently, most people were against the idea, saying that there should be no "newbie jail" and that theymos is against it, even though in my opinion, it's not a jail but a prevention from things that we often face. If a newbie gets to have all the functionalities after a couple of days of joining the forum, it shouldn't be a problem for them if their motives behind joining the forum are genuine.
