Is the altcoin season actually here, or are we still early?

With BTC still below its all-time high and ETH pushing up, it feels like some altcoins are starting to show real moves. Market dominance is shifting a bit, and some projects are waking up after a long quiet period.

I’m wondering if this is the start of the altcoin season or if it’s too soon to say. Some coins are definitely green and gaining traction, but the market’s still shaky overall.

What’s your take? Are we in for a big alt season this year, or is it just early signs of something bigger down the road?

Bitcoin dominance is still so high which means most of trader and holder are buying Bitcoin instead of altcoins.

There’s a pattern before that altcoin season only starts if the Bitcoin dominance is decreasing while Bitcoin price is increasing too which means altcoins market is catching up with Bitcoin price growth due to demand.

There’s market movement is still not showing that sign so it’s still not that time.

Well if we do look at the coinmarketcap we can see the alt are all making alot of gains. Bitcoin now is going to see a new all time high at any time and I do no think the alts will stop.
And the top alt coin Ethereum is now making some gains that us holders been waiting for it to do. I do think some investors did not think we would make any of our profit back from it.

IMO we're still at the early phase of alt season. Bitcoin Dominance is dumping, but bounce back again. It's possible we will see another big momentum for alts around Q3 -Q4 this year.

Other than that, USDT Dominance is also showing a bounce, and expect the market to get another correction as soon as possible.

Just wait and keep hold your alts. It seems we may be getting another bullrun for alts, but it won't comne sooner.

The better to stack more alts once Bitcoin gets correction combined with BTC.D that goes up.

IMO, it didn't start yet: all eyes are still on BTC..

It's still too early to call the start of the altcoin season. The same thing happened before, when Ethereum reached $3,900. Some altcoins started to rise after Ethereum. Then, what happened was the market crash, and we dropped to $2,200, if I remember correctly. Ethereum and other altcoins were crushed even more. Now we're back nearing those old prices, but it's too early to say anything. I can't predict exactly what will happen, but the altcoin season we all want must finally arrive, no matter how it comes.

I am now convinced that maybe it's just the start of it. But we don't know for how long it will be. If the alts are moving likely upwards, it's possible that we're seeing them on a trend now to altcoins season. I have thought that it would take longer but when Bitcoin has moved up quickly and so are they, that's one sign. I don't think there is a need for more expectation for altcoins this season again, if bitcoin could make all time high and the altcoins couldn't afford to make all time high shows they are not ready for this season, except for the next one coming, if you expect for altcoin season, then there should be enough holdings in your portfolio and you must be able to have the patience during the process, after which you must have bought the dip and hold for the season to come.

Well there is some losses in profit for the alt coins now. There is alot of people that does think for 'alt season' we need to see the alt coins see gains of like 10x.

Why not? I mean we are dealing with so many things all at once, and the market is volatile and we reached new all time high with bitcoin, so when you consider all of these, then we could safely say that it is not really that bad for us and we can do a lot better.

I guess the most important thing at the moment would be making sure that we are profiting based on the future, not right now. So if we say that, then all is looking good and green, which means the potential for alts to go up is there. We need to act more responsible of course when we are this high, after all we are dealing with things that are beyond us, and we can't control, if we are dealing with bad results then it is going to hurt us, so we need to be careful when investing.

Looking at the way bitcoin has been performing and we don't see the altcoins making all time high shows that we are possibly only on the bitcoin season, while for the altcoins we may expect them for another season, since majority of them are not rising to make all time high, except for bitcoin, and as we already know, in some situations, they can all move all at the same time, while on the contrary, there use to be altcoins season the same way we have bitcoin performing now, maybe for the holders, they may only choose to hold till the market becomes more volatile and the altcoins gets to their season.

If the current market PA is 'alt szn' then oh boy, this is like the worst time I've had in an alt szn.  The vibe sucks, lots of hate in the time line at CT.  No wagmi vibes.  It's like either people are losing money and if they're making money, it's not overall satisfying.

And remember we had that 'Crypto Boy' feel good song last time?  We don't have it anymore.  And it's also looking like the altcoin section is dying...  That's a sign that everyone is not really making anything anymore.

Far too early for altseason, Bitcoin dominance fell to 60% the other day but now back above 62% with altcoins crashing the last 24 hours , not sure what has caused it though.

I was reading other day that we cant even think of it being an altseason till Bitcoin dominance is below 55% so still a long way to go , I’m thinking after the summer in either September or October we may get close to it but let’s see.

This is the hardest bull market to trade imho.  I wouldn't be surprised if more people lost money now than the prior bull markets.  But the kind of PA it's having might also mean it'll be an easier transition to a bear market which could leave a door wide open to exit positions.  :D

You are comparing it to previous bull cycles, it clearly isn’t following it exact this time is it. It’s been a tough cycle especially for those of us new to all this who have mainly only experienced down and sideways action last 2 or 3 years. We are waiting for altseason, and we need Bitcoin dominance to fall below 55% before that happens

Altcoin section I am sure will get better, because alt season isn't really something like this. I have been here long enough time to see that alt season becomes something with tons of people investing into silly small stuff I have never heard about. I mean even the grocer next to our shop lost hundreds of thousands of his life savings on some silly stupid coin that I have never hard about. Meanwhile, I renewed my car because my money was on bitcoin, the good old traditional bitcoin.

People hope for 100x, a one time deal that brings them retirement, and they all fail. So when that happens, then I will call that a real altcoin season, before any of that, we are not there yet. It's a good period, a green period, a bull period, but not the season yet, we need to peak even higher for that.

But then again, it's still not 'far too early'.  Just look at BTC...  It's up from the lows of early 2023..?  That's def not early.  And if anything we could be at the final stages of this bull market.  Same for other select coins like SOL...

Most of the coins haven't really seen a serious buy up which makes me think that there could be a catch up trade, they peak, then it's down only.  So better make the best of it or learn how to short the market.
