They cant achieve a long term success in this, because there is no specific measures adopted to use against the existing one s and the way people are gambling being regulated or not, if you have your social media account, don't post anything related to gambling and you're free of the threat, also, on what basis are government using to determine for a legal and illegal operating gambling casino, this must be well distinguished.

This is more about the people that are promoting illegal gambling sites and not about gambling itself. Should this stay on the gambling board or off-topic? Although I noticed that more threads are now pardoned to stay on the gambling board.

It is not good to be greedy but if those people accounts are banned, the government of the country that you are talking about has no sense. Give them warning not to promote illegal gambling site and make laws about it. If there is law to ban the account of the people promoting illegal gambling sites, then nobody can blame the government. But if there is no warning, the government are wicked.

I'm not sure how these vloggers will get a social media ban since their respective accounts are owned by a social media platform that is out of the jurisdiction of the local authorities. Maybe the authorities will seek help from the social media platforms directly to ban these accounts for promoting illegal gambling?

What might be applied is filing a case against these bloggers for promoting illegal online gambling sites  (if there's such a law exists). There are a lot of evidence from streaming history that can be used. I'd like that to happen so that these vloggers' images will be ruined, and I hope that it will decrease the number of their followers.

They probably got paid a huge amount to promote gambling, but they didn’t think about the consequences.

Some good vloggers posted big offers they received to promote gambling. The amount offered is hard to resist.

But they insisted and didn't accept the offer. Kudos to them!

it is not only losing followers they will experience but they can actually be associated with the illegal casino and get cracked down by the government as well there have been many cases where a lot of businesses turn out to be scams and the endorsers who are just celebrities end up being investigated as well so they need to be careful and always do some research

Social media earnings was decreased significantly probably due to the saturation of influencers. There’s already a lot of influencers available so their premium is already low.

I think this is why many popular social media accounts started to promote gambling due to the decreased on income.

I saw that video that has 1M views doesn’t have an earnings above 20$.

Authorities will likely reach out to the social media platforms and check if what these influencers are doing violates community guidelines.

I did a bit of quick research, and it looks like promoting unlicensed gambling is indeed against the terms. So if that’s the case, there’s a high chance their accounts could get banned, and that’s goodbye to their monthly income. They’d have to start from scratch, and honestly, I doubt they’ll ever reach the same number of followers again.

What's worse is that even if they've already been paid to promote the online casino whether legal or illegal the video is still monetized.
That's why it's no surprise that these content creators are really earning a lot.
They probably know that by promoting gambling, they might encourage others to gamble and ruin their lives, but because of money they’re willing to do it.

In my opinion, those Facebook pages won't be taken down that easily by our government, especially if they have around 9 million followers unless the violation is really serious.

Finally. I have been encountering a lot of vloggers who have been promoting fishy online casinos, and they are getting away with it on social media. It's time to clean up. Although I believe they are doing this so that the gamblers will pick those that are regulated by the government, it's still a good way to avoid being scammed or freezing funds.

Some won't like this since they are using those online casinos and they are probably winning more by using them compared to the regulated ones, but the fact will still stay that it's dangerous to use them because at any time, it could just run away.

What country is "our country"?

I doubt the government is going to go after the small fish promoters, but someone with millions of followers is definitely going to have a bad day if they are caught promoting an illegal casino. Although I do not think it is fair to ban such large accounts that have had so much work put into them. Since they are going to get into trouble with the government they will probably pay a fine or something anyway, so why the ban? Or did they continue promoting illegal casinos despite being warned not to do so? Because the latter I can understand completely.

A social media account with millions of followers or subscribers ban is a great financial loss. I think there should be a warning before such punishment is implemented. This is because accounts with such followers took so much time and resources to build. Another alternative could be a fine or suspension of the account for a period.

But it is better than imprisonment. I think there was a thread on this forum in which a country made a law to send influencers who promote illegal casinos to jail if convicted.

I read a post saying that here in our country, the government has started cracking down on illegal casinos, and they’re also looking into ways to get vloggers promoting them banned from their social media accounts. I even saw some of the names mentioned, the top one had 13 million followers, followed by another with 9 million.

They probably got paid a huge amount to promote gambling, but they didn’t think about the consequences. Just imagine losing an account with millions of followers because you promoted an illegal casino. That’s years of hard work gone in an instant, all because of greed.

I've never intended to try an illegal casino, no matter how much a vlogger or promoter tried to convince me. The question that comes to mind is: if you say your casino is safe, why don't you guarantee its safety by making it legal like everyone else does? Casinos and gambling, if not managed well, are addictive. An illegal casino completely destroys trust in legal casinos. I'm completely in favor of these restrictive rules.
Players should have the certainty and peace of mind that they can gamble without fear of being ripped off.

Nah, if I'm not mistaken, they’re not going to lose their social media accounts as long as they remove all their posts promoting illegal online casinos. Maybe they chose to promote illegal online casinos because those pay more compared to the legal ones. And since the government hadn’t pay attention on them before, they just kept doing it, until the government finally took action. But I believe it also has something to do with the legal ones. Probably, they’re the ones who pushed for the crackdown on vloggers promoting illegal online casinos. You know, just business as usual, eliminating the competition, but in a legal way.

In my opinion, those Facebook pages won't be taken down that easily by our government, especially if they have around 9 million followers unless the violation is really serious.
i don't think it's the facebook pages that they want to delete but only the posts that contain the illegal casinos. they are only promoters after all and not the actual owners of the illegal casino so they should not be in too much trouble if they just take down the promotional posts.

It's the Philippines.

Online gambling has become a trend here, especially during the pandemic, and it has become worse and worse as years pass by. Before, it was not being taken care of, but with the growing number of users here who got addicted to gambling to the point that there are lots of gambling-related unfortunate and worst events that have happened, the government must now act.

Several proposals are now being considered and currently, the progress that is now taking place is:

- taking down all gambling-related advertisements in public - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5549525.msg65574567

PH is a gambling-friendly country, and gambling here is widespread, legal, and illegal. But since everyone can now gamble here easily online with just a few taps, things have become so bad that it has now caught the attention of the authorities.

These vloggers are earning six figures, so many of them don’t mind losing their accounts. They reason that what’s the use of having millions of followers if they cannot monetize their account?

Meta is paying peanuts for content, but these illegal casinos are more than willing to pay 6 to 7 digits just to broadcast their videos and promote their platform on influencers’ pages.

If they insist on not removing these online gambling promotions from their page, they will face imprisonment. The government is very serious about implementing strict regulations.

These vloggers do have several accounts in social media from facebook to youtube, the government will have a hard time doing all the banning. And social media doesn't cooperate to the government as well unless there's politics behind it. Its usually the case. What I could only see happening is if a vlogger promotes a political party or a person that the current administration despises. If not, it would take a bill banning gambling in the country for it to be executed.

This is more common than it seems. Unfortunately, in this market, it's difficult to know which company is operating within the law. You can research and check licenses, but even that doesn't guarantee the casino's reputability. If casinos are legal in the country, I see no reason not to regulate them and operate within local laws. If they did this knowing casinos were illegal, the payout was certainly substantial. Although, there are people who risk their careers and lives for much less. What's a lot of money for us might be little for others.

To be consistent with the title of your thread, if you are caught promoting illegal casinos then you are to be punished depending on the gravity of your offense.

In the Philippines, there is a law which punishes any person who would promote illegal casinos without any authority from the government. Additionally in this forum, if you are also flagged for promoting a well-known online gambling website that has been practicing shady transactions, you run the risk of being negatively-tagged by our DT members.

In general, it follows that if you promote something which is prohibited or known to be a scam, then consequences would follow.

This is more common than it seems. Unfortunately, in this market, it's difficult to know which company is operating within the law. You can research and check licenses, but even that doesn't guarantee the casino's reputability. In the modern day of the internet, the feedback that you will receive from other people would be your best bet in knowing which gambling website/company is genuine or not. This is the reason on why feedbacks from people who have experience in that gambling website is essential to this cause.

I think that they are paid well because of the count of their followers and they've been offered with a great deal that they cannot decline.
Losing that account if ever they're flagged and reported but I don't think it will happen.
They will be stopped and also might be taxed for the amount of money they've earned from the promotion.
If ever they will lose those accounts with huge following, that's hard to build all over again.
