What Does "Being Rich" Even Mean Anymore?

Sometimes it seems that wealth is the way to freedom — freedom to manage your time, choose what to do, and be sure you have enough for healthcare and entertainment. But wealth is not just the amount in your bank account. It’s also about the quality of life, trust in others, and inner peace (happiness, fulfillment).
I do have trust in other people, and I also appreciate the new opportunities available in my country which weren't there  15 years ago. That being said, my country's economy isn't doing well, and we're in the active stage of a large-scale war with Russia. But still, even though there's stress, pain, and I also struggle with a mixed anxiety and depression disorder, I'd say I am living a happy and fulfilling life.

Well I know how important it is to be a patriotic citizen, but honestly the kind of country and the government we have are not even worth my efforts. There has been no positive changes occuring in the country for a couple of years and all we get from the corrupt leaders is that they are here for us and the betterment of the country, which is a big lie. So no, my life didn't change because my country didn't grow but our economy declined. I can't trust anyone but my self.. if I'm to choose I'll need more money because it's the only thing that can help one to survive the difficult situations we find out selfs. Yes everything is not about money but sometimes money solves all problems, if you have enough..

This is the reality now, the government officials may have increased their flow of income due to corruption, while leaving the  citizens still struggling for money and survival. So it’s not surprising why people do not see growth from their country, do not experience satisfaction from their government services, that’s because the country’s government is a big mess, the officials are not there for the people but to support the greed that have been motivated them from the start of their position.

That's why I say there's no need to rely on the government because every individual can still change their destiny for the better if they're willing to try. Recognize your own potential and make some real changes to achieve a much better life. For example, starting a small business to earn extra income can test your self-development in building a self-sufficient business.

A corrupt government will never think about its people, and a country with the highest levels of corruption will never be able to improve the lives of its citizens, especially regarding the economic growth of every citizen within it.

For me, being rich means having freedom like being able to do what you want, enjoy time with your family and not stress about money.

if you define being rich as just having a lot of money but you can't even enjoy it or spend it freely, then what’s the point?

Some people have all the money but live in fear, can’t walk around alone, always worried about getting robbed.
That’s not real freedom, and honestly, I don’t consider that truly being rich.

Being rich also means having what it takes to survive in life, when you are rich you can live your life freely without not thinking too much, you will earn a lot of respect from those who you didn’t think you deserved it from because money rules the world currently, people who are rich and still live in fear know why they are living in fear because when you are rich you can protect yourself both physically and spiritually in modern day we are living now, although being rich brings a lot of things that can also hurt you but you can protect yourself.

There's this saying that money can't buy you happiness but it can at least buy you something. . In the economy where we find ourselves, being rich is a bonus cause you can get access to the best things of life; Treat yourself to that vacation in a foreign country without thinking to forego it because you've got bills to pay.
Before I also used to feel that when one is rich, it's because of the number of expensive cars, the beautiful house and the amount of money he has in bank account or wallet that defines it all but I got to understand that different people have what they can qualify as being rich but the most important of them all for me is when you've got peace of mind and good health.

Anyone that says money doesn’t bring happiness did not have a good money, maybe the person make money through an evil way, money will always bring happiness that is why we are eager to make it, what most of us face in life is not easy that is why some of us don’t care about any way to make money, when you don’t have money people will always see you as a loser and no one want to become a loser that will make even our family don’t see us as a person.

Everyone has his definition of being rich, but to me, being rich is being contented with what you have. That is, if you own most of your property, like a house, cars, and others, and you don’t feel like there is a need to stress yourself in making more, but just utilize the ones you have and also pay off your daily expenses. Because no matter how much you have, you will never stop if you are in competition. But if you create a passive way of income, you will just have to rely on it and live your life on a low, which is even better in some countries with higher insecurity. No one will think you have that much money, and you will be safe also.

Most necessarily not, the growth of the country has no impact on my life, and it makes me feel less secure with the insecurity in the country, all I ever want is more life and money to live a fulfilled life no need for trust in people cause they'll always fail you.
So being rich keeps you in a state of rest amidst lack and wants, so when you're rich you're fulfilled.

I would still be considering being happy over rich. If you are not happy even a lot of richs will do you no good. There are people who are rich but ended their lives because they were sad. Hence be careful about your happiness and building a good life to lead instead of always fighting for richness. A certain country might be the "index" of happiness but I am happy living in my own country surrounded by people who understand me and things I can control.

Hence being rich right now would mean having money and being happy about the money you have.

So far i never life depend on the growth of my country and what i was achieve currently because my own effort especially since the growth of corruption rapidly increases in my country which this make me understand that state officials in my country doesn't really care to their citizen and this make me got more motivation to earn more money by my own way and if i have to choose most likely i want to became an rich because money can solved almost all problem and for some people they said money cannot bring the happiness but life poor is more worst than rich moreover if we became an rich people automatically we can earn respect from other people because usually my environment is more trust and respect to rich people rather than poor people

I see more and more people (including me and my friends) wondering: Is all the money worth anything when you are tired, stressed, or anxious about the future? In others, youths are unable to secure decent employment and resort to crypto to stay alive, such as in Nigeria. In Guyana, new oil money is helping some, but only if it is managed well

Somehow, being rich is discretionary as per people different responses to life. Someone earnings less than 1k dollars monthly may carry themselves in manners (looking for whom to embarrass) that someone earning more 2k dollars would not. Seeing themselves to have arrived which at times is not far from seeing being rich to be

 But awareness or knowledge is so profound that this riches means little or nothing when you can't enjoy your time and trust.
The example of Germany and Norway @op is a typical example of what it actually means to be rich, lets say little cashflow, but you feel secured, have time for families and friends, settle financial needs (in totality freedom), these might go a long way to even increase life expectancy.

The growth in my country is negligible, so it has caused no positive change in my life. The security is not so good.
I believe this three factors of life (money, time and trust) can blend.

It all depends on the aspect the growth is coming from but if it is in the aspect of developments I'm sure that this will have a little impact in your life even if you don't have to depend solely in those job they might choose to offer but I'm sure that when your country is developed there will be Alot of changes as your investment/ business will be  progressing.  take for instance those countries that is not well developed, is obvious that things don't move well in such countries. In this sense, some people can decide to travel to a nearby country that is well developed  for the success of thier business. so in all I think growth is very important no matter what.

The answer to the first question is that if the country improves, people's lives do not improve. At the heart of improving people's lives is hard work and perseverance. No matter how developed the country is, if you do not have peace of mind, then the country's development is of no use to you. Therefore, you must try to improve yourself through your own work.

In fact, it is said that a person's beautiful peace comes not from money but through his actions. If his actions are good, if he is hardworking, then he will definitely get mental peace. So here I will give more priority to human needs than money. Because human needs are endless, some people like to play, some like to sleep, some like to sing, some like money for a better life. So human happiness and peace depend on human thinking. So I think the meaning of happiness and peace is not the same for each person.

Not all rich people end up happy with their lives. In fact, living with a lot of riches and investments may only turn your life risky and stressful, even though you have the freedom to do everything you want in your life. However, I still prefer to be rich rather than being poor, because it’s very hard to be happy when you have been experiencing poverty all throughout your existence.

Happiness is just a matter of life’s contentment and peace deep within. No need to be more greedy as it can always lead us to keep wanting more even if we already get what we want in life.
