To tell the truth, I always question the existence of the Conference League.    Why did UEFA feel the need of a 3rd European tournament which is even below the level of the Europa League?
Look at the prize money of this tournament.
The biggest prize is literally €7m. The winner of the tournament gets it. What's the point of this then? Just to make more teams happy with a different kind of trophy?
I still question the future of the Conference League because of that. It might not even exist as long as the Europa League.

I agree with the competition prize problem. UEFA needs to increase the prizes a little more. At least the prizes for the quarter-finals and beyond should be increased so that the teams in the tournament are more motivated.
Apart from that, a new cup means new excitement. It's also important for the prestige of the teams. Teams that cannot win the Champions League or Europa League can aim for this cup and be successful.

It was because these small small tournaments were stopped that led to the advent of Conference league. The game of football is not just about the price or excitement that comes with it. Just like many other games, the game of football is also aimed at creating relationships among cities and nations and the introduction of conference league helped to reach out to more cities and nations who could not make it to the Champions League or Europa League. It's just like trying to stop club world cup or preseason games. These games are not just about the money, it's more about creating relationships and bonding in order to foster peace among the nations. Conference league may not be interesting until your fan club is involved, then you will realise how interesting it is. Let the focus not be on the money alone, that's the only chance some teams can have to own a European trophy.

Tonight, our representatives Başakşehir FK and Beşiktaş have their matches.

Başakşehir FK will face Romanian side Universitatea Craiova. In terms of squad quality, Başakşehir FK clearly has the better team, and I expect them to win tonight.

Beşiktaş will play against Swiss club Lausanne Sports. Lausanne has lost 2 and won 1 in their first 3 league matches, which shows they are not in good form. I expect Beşiktaş to win this match comfortably, as they are the clear favorites.

Hopefully, both of our teams will win tonight and take another step closer to the group stage.

This is true. The Conference League has been organized for 4 times so far. If we don't count Chelsea we can really say it has been an opportunity for different teams to win a trophy.

The Conference league was created for inclusivity to carry and motivate those middle-ranking teams that are making effort in their various leagues to have a taste of the iceberg, not to confined within their local leagues alone. It is essentially not about the money but the prestige that is attached to winning a tournament in Europe regardless of it  prize value. Not all teams in various leagues can make it to the eufa champions league and the europa league if the numbers are crowded, the conference league can be ascribed as a place of compromise to the teams that cant finish in the top of their league table.

Yes Besiktas is favored in this match, but the odds offered by the bookmakers aren't below 2x, just look at them.



The odds are certainly very tempting if Besiktas wins, but with those odds, the bookmakers aren't confident enough that Besiktas will win easily, which means Lausanne also has the potential to win this match.
Betting on this match involves luck, as I consider both teams to have equal chances.

Unfortunately Laussane managed to scored and game ended with a draw 1-1 but overall I think this was the right result and the decisive game will be in Turkey and my chips are on Besiktas to qualify in CL groups.

I'm also impressed how Ole is doing in Turkey as personally I have always admired him while he coach Malmo but also United and I'm glad he found his place and he doesn't have a title fight team but even with that I'm sure he will qualify in CL groups.

I also think they were tactically weak. Beşiktaş had the stronger squad, but they couldn't make a difference in the match. They managed to score, so they should be happy about that. They'll play the second leg in Istanbul, and they absolutely must win. Shakhtar Donetsk was eliminated from the Europa League, so I hope they don't face elimination from the Conference League. I have confidence in Beşiktaş for the second leg.

I feel really bad for Crystal Palace in their qualification match against Fredrikstad because the game is very dull and unlike Crystal Palace that usually make many attacks, but they are really missing Eze after his transfer to Arsenal became certain yesterday and Marc Guehi might probably move to Chelsea which will further make Crystal Palace to be in disarray. I was expecting lots of goals from Crystal Palace against Fredrikstad, but it didn't come as they could only score a lone goal which shows that the team is lacking composure as a result of Eberechi Eze's absence in the game and i wonder how the team will cope in their future games especially if Chelsea succeeds in signing their center back Marc Guehi.

I compared them to Real Madrid, who created countless chances but couldn't score. Real Madrid won by a single goal, and Crystal won by a single goal. I doubt they'll have any trouble in the second leg, as their opponent is completely ineffective. It's unfair to blame them for this, as they face one of the Premier League's strongest teams. Even with some players leaving, they're proving they're a team capable of winning the Conference League.

Turkish teams were disappointing today. Başakşehir lost the match in which they were favoured highly. It was at home against Craiova. But after seeing the defensive weaknesses in the last round I can't say it's a big surprise. 

Beşiktaş let Lausanne organize unbelievable number of attacks. It was obvious they would concede at least 1 goal in this way. 1-1 is still not the end of the world but they need to improve in the rematch. Even getting more productive in offense would be enough to qualify.

This was still different from the Real Madrid game against Osasuna. Crystal Palace just sold a key player who often help them in games like this and tonight was quite difficult but thank God they got a win in the end, now they have to prepare better for the second leg and also try to find a better replacement for the good profit made from their star man.

They still need to improve their squad and dominate the Conference league to become Champion, bringing the trophy to EPL again, making it the most successful league in the Conference league, although still it currently with West Ham and Chelsea lifting the trophy.

I don't understand what happened to Shakthar. They played two matches against Beşiktaş, winning particularly well in the match in Istanbul. Then they were eliminated by Panathinaikos and eliminated from the UEFA Europa League. Yesterday, they drew 1-1 with Servette in the Conference League playoffs.

The team is in a significant decline. They also won their last league match. Shakthar is a tough team to beat, but I was surprised to see them draw when they should have easily defeated a team like Servette. Shakthar will win the next match because they are a much better team than Servette.

I watched the Lausanne Sports - Beşiktaş match and I can say it was a disappointing one.
I didn’t like Beşiktaş at all. I think they played badly. They were worse in the first half, which I believe was due to the artificial pitch. In the second half they were a bit better, but they conceded a goal in the final minutes and the match ended 1-1.
Next week, Beşiktaş must get an easy win at home because their squad demands it and their opponent is weaker compared to them.

Başakşehir FK were the better side but couldn’t score. In football, the team that scores wins, and Universitatea Craiova scored twice and won the match.
Başakşehir FK pulled one back in the final minutes to make it 2-1, but they couldn’t find the second goal. They will need to play better next week and score plenty of goals against their opponent

Beşiktaş continues its poor performance. They might be able to eliminate Lausanne and qualify for the league, but I have no idea how many points they'll collect. With this roster, it's impossible for them to successfully maintain both the league and the conference. Beşiktaş could change managers very soon. This isn't a secret. Because if the team's poor performance continues, the fans will definitely demand the manager's resignation from the stands.

Beşiktaş's squad is currently very weak. There are players who shouldn't be at Beşiktaş. They need to let them go immediately.
