So many people claim that the reason why they gamble is to entertain themselves. I don't really believe this, even if am to believe it. It is  only 1% out of the 99% that do gamble for fun or for entertainment. It is very rare for an addicted gambler to come open and say that they are addicted to gambling. I believe the primary aim for gambling is to make profit, even if there may be secondary motive for gambling. What is the fun or entertainment when you are always on the loosing end because gambling is a game of luck. Sometimes I think the reason why most people think that gambling is a game of funs is to justify there gambling habits. However it is wrong to treat gambling as means or source of income.

And the earlier the better that gambling is been properly understood so that a lot of things can be avoided and it will not get to the level of addiction because in the early stage they refuse to control there self and now it is to late for them to do that. And the consequences of addiction comes with a huge price and that is even losing money and you will experience small or no wins at all so we should not joke with the fact that gambling have serious disadvantages.

And the earlier the better that gambling is been properly understood so that a lot of things can be avoided and it will not get to the level of addiction because in the early stage they refuse to control there self and now it is to late for them to do that.

You're very correct, gambling responsibly need to start from that very day that we settled to go into gambling. So that you can start dealing with the spirit of addiction from that early stage, but when you fail to tackle it from the onset then it becomes a problem in the future. That's when you must have gone deeper into gambling then coming out from it won't be an easy task for you anymore, though addiction can be avoided no matter the level. It becomes very tempting to try to escape reality when our personal reality has become so depressing and dire. It is not only a gambling and betting thing. There are teens and young adults who could spend their whole day playing videogames and seeking other ways of escapism through their computer in order not to face their daily life and get to work on their problems, which there are no easy solutions for.

There are people who get addicted to internet, to videogames, alcohol and even drugs like heroine, weed and crack, each one of those substances and activities are nothing but ways to escape reality. The number rule of happiness is expecting nothing, not relying on gambling money, not gambling for financial reasons, that way discipline will kick in on his own. Gambling for fun will save you but if you see the win that makes sense, you can use it for something better. That way, the day you don't make money you wouldn't be disappointed and the you make will act as a surprise. There are some days you might think you will make but will get nothing, don't worry it's all part of the game.

Sorry, but how do you know that 90% of gamblers or bettors don't realize they are addicted? Do you have any references?

I don't think so. Personally, I believe many gamblers who talk about addiction, how to escape from that addiction, or anything regarding to gambling are aware of what they are talking about, including their conditions. Even if a gambler knows how to escape from addiction, but he or she can't apply it, I believe it is because they lack a strong determination, and sincere intention to do so. Well, I am speaking from my experience, I used to be an addicted gambler, but it took time and determination to escape from it, and I have reached my current level (as a responsible gambler). Other than that, I am sure people often talk about this for the sake of self-reflection, or sharing reminders with each other.

I get what you mean. Yours sounds more like a passion or a hobby type of thing rather than a real addiction..  Some people chase gambling only for money and end up in bad spot, but for you it seems more about the thrill and community around it..  Spending time on forums, reading gambling news, or exploring games doesn’t sound harmful at all, if you’re not losing control or letting it affect your personal life..

I think the difference here is balance. As long as you are self aware, not risking money you can’t afford to lose, and still handling your responsibilities in life, then it’s not the dangerous type of addiction people usually worry about...
